Cariad

I get away with the tesco's version of head and shoulder with my OH it a 1/4 of the price for a big bottle and actually works better on him

He would probably change his view if he found out lol

cariad Report 5 Mar 2008 09:39

I think this is great, never mind teenagers I do this with my OH - ughh he says I don't like decaffinated coffee, so keep jar refill with decaff, does he know the difference - does he heck.

Shower gel - likes the stuff for men ie. such as Lynz, buy the cheaper men shower gel supermarket own, refill expensive bottle - no comment - must like it!!

Can't get away with the cheaper head and shoulders though, think it has it's own quality - he said don't buy this cheap stuff again.

Well done. On another note, they ought to learn to not be so heavy handed with it, not good for the environment etc, would that get them to use less?

Very clever and sensible, I have done it in the past but not much. If my son when he was at home, wanted 'posh' stuff he either had it as part of a gift, like a stocking filler or paid for it himself out of his part time wages. They have to learn how to make the money stretch and if they are constantly allowed to have everything they want, regardless of cost, they will never learn to manage money.
I have to say my son is wasteful and that isn't the way I brought him up, but it is his money and he goes without a lot of things but won't realise that he could have more if he turned his lights off, his heating down, didn't leave milk out of the fridge so it goes off etc etc etc
He had some nice cutlery when he first moved into his flat and when I was there on Sunday, he has hardly any of it left, just using some old stuff. He says he thinks when his mates go round and they have takeaways one of them probably throws the fork away with the wrappings etc. He doesn't seem at all bothered but it annoyed me! I have a whole canteen of cutlery that was my Mum's, it was the one we all bought my parents on their silver wedding anniversary as they had never had a nice set of cutlery. It isn't silver but stainless steel and a good make, but I am loathe to give it to him as he will lose that too, in the same way, and I wouldn't be happy, yet I don't need the cutlery, I have enough of my own.
Wish he would be more careful, maybe later on when he is more watchful, he can have it then, meantime I will probably get him a cheap set for Easter or something.

lol good one....when daughter was early teens gawd forbide if I bought her clothes at the cheaper stores...would only wear Le Chateau and such. Far as I was concerned jeans are jeans and even the more posh stores didn' t have labels on lots of their jeans. Besides most of the time she didn' t know one label from the other. I used to buy her jeans at the cheaper store, remove the tags then plop them in the Le Chateau bag.....she never did catch on........lol
