I picked up three books in a charity shop today for when I finish the current read, the one on the go at the mo is good but I can't remember the title or author and it is upstairs so can't get it to check without disturbing o.h.
Love my books.

I have just finished reading Damaged by Cathy Glass and I must agree that we have an awful lot of those books out at the moment.
I am waiting to start A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. Very good write ups on it and, it was Richard & Judy's Book Awards 2008.

Sebastian Faulks book Human Traces. In depth book about pioneering psychiatrists. Just read "Birdsong" by same author, a must for researchers of WWI. I read The Secret Garden a few weeks ago, but I was abit bored with it to be honest. I also enjoy Peter James and John Grisham.

at the moment reading "Secrets in Prior's Ford" by Eve Houston - set in Kirkudbrightshire - lovely story, not too taxing.

Love anything by Bill Bryson - particularly liked one his latest - "Life and times of the Thunderbolt Kid" - hysterical.

All Alexander McCall Smith books on the No: 1 Ladies Detective Agency - these are all set in Botswana and are delightful stories.

If you've never read books by Deirdre Purcell I suggest to start with "Falling for a Dancer" - one of the few books I practically read in one go and there are a number of sequels to it.

Also R E Delderfield's books are great reading. He wrote "To serve them all our days" which was televised many years ago. Two of his lighter books well worth a read are "Cheap Day Return" and "Come Home Charlie and Face them".

I read Dave Pelzer's books a few years back.
The first second and third.....how that woman could get away with the way she treated those children... especially him... I will never understand.
THEN he goes and tries to treat her like a mother???

I would have had really different plans for her, wouldn't you Stray?
