Nope, I think they created cycle lanes to stop cyclists holding up the traffic that get stuck behind them. |

Roads are designed for vehicles and pavements are designed for pedestrians, so where does the cyclist feel safest , |

If they get off when pedestrians are around.....................fair enough, but not weaving in and out of traffic or pedestrians. |

By creating cycle lanes the govenment and councils are admitting that roads are to dangerous for cyclists, so the law needs changing. |

Ed, that's ok for the pavements that are wide enough to take a cycle lane but there aren't many of them where I live. |

And shall we mention our council, who in their infinite wisdom painted a cycle lane on a pavement along terraced houses, so close to their front doors that they couldn't step out without being on the cycle lane...and not a narrow pavement might I add. Our town has gone cycle lane mad, which would be absolutely brilliant if cyclists actually used them! |

Most cyclists are responsible and safe, but there the ones that dont get noticed, the very few that dont behave get noticed. |

Most cycle lanes in this country are pavements with a painted white line down the middle, so really there cant be a problem with cyclists using pavements. |

Er, well to be honest I think Cyclists should have to pass a test because some of them are downright dangerous. There are cycle lanes that take them off the main road onto a section of the very wide pavement and many don't use them. On top of that, we had one swerve across traffic in front of us, causing mum to have to stand on the brakes. When she tooted her horn he just glared at her. We passed him and told him to use the cycle lane and when he caught us up at the next lights slammed his hand on the passenger glass window so hard I was surprised it didn't break. |

seems to me they are already riding on the pavements and I for one will not give way to a cyclist on a pavement unless it is a child - wouldn't want them on the roads for sure. Cardiff has just given permission to ride their cycles through the main pedestrianised area of the city centre. In fact they always have and no one has ever stopped them. Cardiff city centre is extremely busy with hundreds of shoppers around - a collision with a cyclist can be very damaging for both cyclist and victim. With regard to cyclists at night, start fining them for not having lights - to see a cyclist with proper lights is a rarity in this area |

A few cycle lanes would be a good idea. |

That's ok, as long as the cyclists are willing to be responsible riders.... |

And where are you going to put the pedestrians? |

I think it is now time to change the law and allow cyclists on to the pavements as the roads are getting so busy and certain drivers are driving dangerously. |
