Yup, sat in lounge for almost a week. Got to go into a case and then after a day were told we had to find accused innocent due to inconsistencies between witness statement and testimony. Afterwards we were told all about the history of the suspect and it was sickening, he was obviously guilty and got away with it on a technicality.

I did Jury service about two years ago - only one case - 'White Collar' Crime.

He was guilty - I think 10 out of 12 of us in the end agreed.

A lot of time sitting around, unable to smoke and I had a stinking cold at the time which didnt help.

hubby goes tomorrow for two weeks to warwick and when we lived in Hastings he had two weeks at Lewes and did a couple of cases rest of time he got sent home .

If he gets sent home again this time he has a customer who is ok for him to just turn up to do bits if he gets chance to.

At Lewes they said to him they could tell what he did as a job because of the state of his mobile, hes a painter and it is splattered with paint

I waited for years to be called and then out of the blue it came - had a great time and met a load of nice people. Was on two cases - one alleged rape and one a sort of incest. We found both defendants not guilty I'm glad to say. The young lad in the rape case cried when I said [I was foreman for that one] Not Guilty, and his family nearly collapsed. Found out after that the little madam had made such claims before but we did not believe her thank goodness. As to the guy in the second case, he was "set up" and we all recognised that and he was found not guilty too - all in all a good experience.

I've never been called.
Daughter was called when she was about 20 ...maybe 21?

She was there for just a few days, ....alot of sitting around, she said.
It was not easy to get to Canterbury from here on public transport. I think that was more hassle than the court case.
