Kitty, how wonderful your hubby is home at last...he will make brilliant progress now he is in his own environment.

The colostomy reversal is quite straightforward... a colleague of mine had same operation, was working at her desk three weeks later, had the reversal and never looked back.. a total picture of health.

Reckon both of you will be able to relax now, you have certainly earned it.

Kitty so good to hear you have him home!

Give him my best wishes and onwards and upwards now eh!

Remember one thing caring as you know is exhausting so let the duster stay in the cupboard (someone once told me it doesn't get any thicker after the first few days so experiment and let us all know if it is true!)

what lovely news to have on such a cold wet and miserable day - lifts one's spirits. Give him our love won't you and I'm sure with Spring around the corner he'll be back fighting fit before you know it.

Glad to hear that he is well on the road to recovery.
He is doing very well if he has already managed a short walk.
With better weather to look forward to and lots of TLC I'm sure he will soon feel so much better.

Take care of yourself too.
All that caring can be very tiring.

♥ Kitty the Rubbish Cook ♥

♥ Kitty the Rubbish Cook ♥ Report 3 Feb 2008 10:51

I have had quite a few pm's, so thought it best to post a thread.

He came home on Friday evening, his bladder is healed, so the catheter came out at last.

He has a colostomy, which will stay for about 6 months to allow everything else to settle, not nice, but he manages fine with it.

He is still pretty weak and exhausted by mid morning, but so much better in himself.

He is really optimistic about the future now and has had a short walk round the block with one of our daughters this morning .

After hospital food, he says my cooking is wonderful..............that won't last! lol

Thank you all for your support and best wishes for him during his stay in hospital.

He has read the thread and was overwhelmed by all the kindness shown and says a huge Thank You to everyone.

Off to help him shower now, will look in later

xx
