I'm just having normal tea right now.
I will maybe have an odd cup of the green one.

I quite like some of the other fruit teas though, just for a change.

I was in Japan when I was pregnant & was given green tea

"Yuck" I thought - I know I'll drink it quickly then it's over & done with.

Low & behold - they refilled my cup !!!!!!!!!

I have tried it once since as I thought perhaps i didn't like it in Japan because I was pregnant & result =

I still think it's yuck!!

Hi Marion

I wouldn't overdo it with the green tea if I were you. When I was ill with thyroid cancer and spent a lot of time doing research on it, I found out that there were reports stating that green tea contains very high levels of fluoride, which interferes with the normal function of the thyroid (it speeds it up).

This is why you sometimes see articles boasting green tea as a slimming aid, because it speeds up your metabolism (controlled by the thyroid gland).

(Ok, so I guess you're all running for the green tea now, eh, LOL)

Seriously, though, in some people the thyroid can't cope with these rollercoaster highs and lows and sometimes malfunctions. You can then end up hypothyroid (underactive thyroid) or hyperthyroid (overactive thyroid).

To be honest, there are so many differing views on this topic (some for, some against) if you do a Google search on it (e.g. fluoride in green tea) that it's hard to know what to do for the best. I guess the only thing we can do is read up on it and make our own decisions.

I decided to stop drinking it regularly (because of the fluoride in it) and now only have the occasional cuppa (but then I no longer have a thyroid to worry about as it was totally removed a few years back!).

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you and the others.

Regards - Athena

I have the pineapple and grapefruit one, which is a bit better than one my son gave me to try...yuck lol.

Dont think I could drink it all the time though, take a bit of getting used to.
I thought after my one cup that would be me all healthy inside :)) only kidding lol

Hi Marion - if you don't like the taste try adding a slice of fresh lemon - I drink all different types of tea inluding green as I haven't had milk for years. Also I slice lemons and freeze the slices on a tray then layer them in a plastic box so I've always got lemon slices at the ready. Jx

Permanently I think. I drink green tea peppermint infusion which I quite like but green tea on its own is quite bitter.
