If you export the family file as a gedcom you can then open it using any word processing program, including Windows Notepad or Wordpad, Microsoft Word etc.. Open the word processing program, and browse to where the gedcom is saved, select All files or Text documents when you browse and the gedcom can be opened. You can then edit out all the Circa words and type in the correct gedcom format which Abt. When gedcoms are imported into some genie programs they do not recognise Circa, they will recognise Abt. Once you have edited the words close the file, save the changes and then re-import the gedcom back into your genie program. Kind regards, Ron www.genealogyprinters(.)com |

Hi, does anyone know which word processor prog. I could use to edit my tree after export ( and what file type to save as) as my Family Tree Package can't open it with dates that say Circa. and I'd rather not go through my whole tree on GR changing everything if I don't have to. AL |
