I have had several blissful months of a break from work and dabbling (i.e. being obsessed) with researching my family tree. However, I am now back in full time employment with a vengance. How on earth does everyone else on these boards manage work, childcare and other commitments alongside their research? I've had to severely cut back my time on genealogy and I'm really missing it! Well you just have to put the important things first. So you leave the ironing to pile up, ignore the kids fighting, send them up to the chippy to fetch tea, let hubby wash up etc. and just get on with the tree. |

After only 2 weeks the house is already a mess and the chores have piled up to such an extent that I'm not sure I can ignore them for much longer. If only cats could be trained to do everyday jobs! Louise |

Everyone else thinks you've lost it and get used to the mess in the house ... You're so busy looking things up that you don't notice the mess either...Till someone visits and then you just tell them about your tree until you see them glaze over! Kim |

Referring Kims reply - the visitors eyes should not glaze over but will probably sparkle and you will get them involved too. In next to no time You and your friends will all be in the same situation with state of house, garden, clothes ............ You just have to get your priorities right - Genealogy will win. |
