My 3x gt Grandmother Anne SMITH was born in Appleby Magna Leicester in 1811. She married William Faichen in 1831 in Birmingham and then they moved to Southampton, where thy had several children. I think William died in 1851 just after the birth of daughter Ann. The next time I catch up with gggGrandmother is in 1871. She has moved to London and is with daughter Ann, now called ANN SLADE. She is Widdowed and by 1881 she is in the St. Georges Union workhouse as a pauper where she presumemably died. I have searched Frre BMD for her marriage (Not to be confused with the marriage of her daughter to John Hawkins). and death. I cannot find anything. I'd love to know who she married and where she lived between 1851 and 1871. Any tips please? Alice |

Thank you Jim. I think that must be her death and the William is the death of her husband. Have discovered another daughter in london - obviously went that way when her husband died. She isn't on the 1861 on 1837 on line though - so goodness knows where she was hiding - maybe she married twice in that time? alice |
