I thought you said they were born in Lancashire?? Anyway if they were born in England and Wales.... For those dates, the best search you should go for is www.familyrelatives.*org - just remove the *. It is indexed and fully searchable by name for the years 1866 to 1920. You should be able to find their births there. The only way to find out who their parents were is to buy the birth certificates. As for Scotland BMD - you won't find them on FreeBMD (only for England and Wales civil registration). I've not used the site, but lots of people mention this site http://www.scotlandspeople.*gov.uk/ , again if you remove the *. |

I think some of the info given on a marriage cert, for example, differs in England and Wales to Scotland. I think on a Scot marriage cert you get both parents?? Well on an English or Welsh one you only get the father named. But I've not done any research in Scotland at all, so I'm not entirely sure but I have looked at people's threads on Scotland here. |
