Since installing my new computer (and optical mouse – incase that’s relevant) I can’t copy and paste from web sites, and just pick up the main text. For example, if I use info from the IGI, if I copy & paste previously it just copied the relevant info you see on the main page. Now where there is another link (ie parent’s names on baptism) I get all the program strings for that link as well. Also it stick every piece of info into a ‘box’. Why??!! I’m sure this is something to do with internet settings somewhere, but haven’t the foggiest idea where to start. Don’t know how this will transfer to Genes, but this is what I get used to get: Sarah Lane Female -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: 26 FEB 1837 Amersham, Buckingham, England Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parents: Father: Stephen Lane Family Mother: Ann Lane This is what I get now: Parents: Father: Stephen Lane <individual_record.asp?recid=100285492654&lds=1&region=2&frompage=1> Family <family_group_record.asp?familyid=302998821&indi_id=100285492654&lds=1&region=2&frompage=1> Mother: Ann Lane <individual_record.asp?recid=100285492655&lds=1&region=2&frompage=1> This is driving me nuts, can someone please help? it's something to do withe thset up of your clipboard (the bit where the computer remembers the text you're copying). you're text is being displayed withe the full javascript rather than as straightforward text. unfortunately I use mac and I dont know how to change the clipboard preferences
