Depends what you want to know. Did adoptions happen then? Yes Just Will there be records- Possibly yes Can they be accessed- depends who is asking Jess x

Thanks, Jess. My sister told her sister in law that `I`m the one to ask -but all my rellies are Scottish and none adopted! It`s someone that works with her -she`s going to phone me for help --------HELP! Rosalyn

So do you know who the actual adoptee is, because it makes a difference Reccording pertaining to adoption are only open to the adoptee themselves, not just 'interested parties' etc. There is no way of cross referencing an adopted birth cert with an original , although if a birth name s know, one can trawl and find a match if luck is on your side. It`s this lady`s father and she found out when he died recently age 80+. I shall get names when she phones me -just wanted to know if there would be records etc, thanks. Rosalyn
