Have you come across this before? My aunt appears twice in the 1939 register, at the same address - the schedule number is the same, but the pages are completely different. Rose E Todd, 10th August 1908, at 79 Chesterton Lane, Cirencester. In both she is shown as S, although Todd was her married name

This happens quite often, if the enumerator made some sort of mistake in the original entry.

If you look at the image of this one, you'll see that at the far right there's a note in red, saying "See page 6 Bk 2":

The other entry is the one on Page 6, Book 2, along with lots of corrected entries from other pages.

It isn't always obvious to us what the reason might be for the revised entry.

Thank you for the explanation. I will lodge this beside my uncle who has two birth certificates from different registration districts.

My Grandmother is shown twice in the 1911 census - once at her parents address and once at her grandparents address. She was only 4 at the time so I am guessing she was actually staying with her grandparents, but her parents showed her at home because she did actually live there.
