Could anyone please help to find Leonard Mcpherson ,born in Greenock year unknown,but may be from about 1880-mid 1890's.Died 1914 in Nottinghamshire

How did you get this name? There's no death and you have a 15 year range for his birth. What record gave you his name?

There is no Leon* McPherson (or alternative spelling) in the whole of Renfrewshire in 1911.

In the rest of Scotland there's a Leonora, aged 27, in Bridgeton (Lanarkshire), a Leonora aged 1 in Bridgeton (same household, and she's probably the Leonora Frances whose birth in 1909 was posted by safc) , and a Leonard aged 13 in Maryculter (near Aberdeen). Leonard's birth in 1897 was posted by safc.

In the same household as the two Leonoras, there are also:

IF - as you say - he died in 1914, look for the registration on freebmd and see how old he was


BUT, as has already been checked.......NO death in England/Wales for the name before 1948

And only one before 1936 for alternative spelling of surname
