has anyone (recently) searched medway ancestors please!

this one was fine above! now says page not found....

i have most of of what i wanted, but need the (strood marriages eg 1937

its been 83 yrs ...so as i remember 75 yrs was the deadline for marriages.

Can anyone add to what i have above,,,

Well have been to Medway archives which is in Rochester

Seems the pages aren’t found now on doing a google

Seems to have a problem but moving on in the site you get it searches

Have you tried https://www.freereg.org.uk/ ? Many of the available digital records have been transcribed on to that.

It’s always possible that the couple were married by the Registrar or in a non conformist chapel rather than CoE.

What names were you looking for? Perhaps more eyes can spot them.

St Nicholas, Strood - Most recent register for marriages 1889-1898. They do list Banns 1934-1940 but the images aren't available.

St Mary, Strood - Marriages 1932-1946 with a note that entries after 1940 aren't digitalised.

St Francis, Strood - earliest registers held start in 1941.

I've a suspicion that they decided on a blanket 100 year on-line closure rather than various ones depending on the 'event'. They may be available at the Archives if you or someone else can visit. Ask Shirley, sweetly :-D :-D

Sorry I’m off on my hollies next Tuesday and have lots to do this week

Am off to the the dentist this afternoon to have a broken tooth taken out

thanks again................well i think your right on the 100 yr ban

i started researching those archives online back in 2006 i must say

i did download heaps...........but there is always the odd 1 that pops up sometime later..

visiting medway way out of reach for me...i'm in sth aust.
