If (A) has 12 generations connection to our Common Ancestor

and (B) has 11 generations connection to our Common Ancestor

What relation is A to B

Something along the lines on

A is 12th cousin once removed to B
B is 11th cousin once removed to A

Although there are relationship charts around, they may not go back that far!

Believe me I have looked I could only find one going back as far as 10 generations.

They are 10th cousins once removed.

Starting with the common ancestor:
1st generation (children) are siblings
2nd generation (grandchildren) are 1st cousins
3rd generation (great grandchildren) are 2nd cousins
and so on as far as descendant B, who is
11th generation, therefore 10th cousin to descendant A's parent.

For every generation difference between the two people there is one "removal". If descendant A was 13th generation, they would be 10th cousins twice removed.

I hope this makes sense.

Out of interest, Mark, what dates have you for the common ancestor? Assuming 25 years per generation ( yes, it’s a random number) they could have been around in the 1600s
