Could it be that the boys were also not natural children, and therefore their names in earlier years were something other than the ones under which their deaths were registered?

Read the note about it on freebmd.

It only means that ordering a copy cert might be problemmatical

What connection do you have to these people? You must have a reason for seeking out the grave

Does the gravestone actually state that they are one family?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 4 Apr 2019 20:42

For Annie's death, the page number is not within the expected range for the district

ArgyllGran Report 4 Apr 2019 20:41

Have you found them in earlier censuses?

Possibly William E's birth?

JONES, WILLIAM ERNEST mms DAVIES
GRO Reference: 1889 S Quarter in BRIDGEND Volume 11A Page 645

And Edward??

JONES, EDWARD REGINALD mms DAVIES
GRO Reference: 1897 S Quarter in BRIDGEND Volume 11A Page 828

EDIT: NO, not that birth for Edward - that child born Llantrisant, with parents John and Sarah, per 1911 census.

Possibly Annie E's marriage?? But only if William who died 1926 wasn't her husband:

Marriages Jun 1882 (>99%)
DAVIES Annie Elizabeth Bridgend 11a 739
Jones John Bridgend 11a 739

Jones Edward 36 Bridgend 11a 665

Deaths Dec 1941 (>99%)
Jones Annie E 74 Bridgend 11a 870
