Can anybody possibly look up an address to see who was living there in 1911?

The address is 5 Albion St, Southwick,West sussex

I believe it was used by sailors as a lodging place.

No 5 doesn't seem to be on the 1911 census - although it still exists today - visible on Google Maps.

No 5 and No 7 are the two halves of a semi-detached property.

John and Eleanor Mills Yates are at no 7 in 1911, but there's no record for no 5.

Just for reference:

There are two pairs of semis:- 3&5 and 7&9. And all looking well past their prime.
The Google satellite view shows that they are quite big, so 5 could well have been used as a lodging house.
Age-wise they look to me as "early 1900's" But did they exist in 1911?

Using the info from ArgyllGran.

The view map for that record is listed as 1896-1904. So a few years too early. But when it was produced it shows that there were no buildings that close to the junction of Albion Street and Kingston Lane.

The next record after No.7 is No.8. And either side of those two records are 'Terrace' properties.

The above leads me to think that maybe the numberings in Albion Street were revised sometime later?

EDIT. By Terrace I mean Terrace Type of properties.

Hello peeps.
many thanks for the info. I think I may have found out why there wasn't a no 1 Albion St.
Apparently the houses were originally called Saxon Villas 3, 5 7 & 9.

There was going to be built a house on the junction but it never happened so the first house after that was given no 3 as the numbers had already been allocated.

Since I requested the info, I have received information that the houses may not have been built until 1913 which would explain why you couldn't find the house on the 1911 census.

many thanks for the info as it has still proved useful.
