I did wonder if it was the writing on the 1939 register, an open topped 'a'. Most of the other 'a's on the page are close topped, but the Framleys on the page have slightly open topped 'a's. |

I think it's Central Ordinance Works, Sylvia. First two words might be Ordinance Depot rather than Ordinance Dept, I think an 'o' might have been inserted in orange? same with 'Works', it's been modified and an 's' stuck on the end in orange. |

The baptism Chris found, for Henry Moseley with same birthdate as Gervase Valentine Lincoln looks exceedingly promising. So looks like he was probably adopted at a young age . |

The nearest Kelly's directory to 1930 is 1910/11. There is a John Henry Moseley in that, shown as a draughtsman, living at Colwyn Villa, Alma Street. He could have progressed to being manager by 1930, at one of the firms shown below. |
