Good morning all couldn't get back to sleep so came on here. dry and sun out already but only 12 degrees so a bit cooler today so far. AnnX your window man was a fast worker. Our man who did the patio door etc cleaned the glass as well so that was good, except the day after a bird got it!! How strange that you mis-counted and didn't even notice in the quote. Still he seems to be reliable and will come back quite quickly. so your bungalow id all bright and shiny now. That made me wonder if Gill's new bungalow has double glazing fitted seeing that so much else needed doing. Ann you still got a lot done even with having the windows done. I bet you slept last night. Shame you had to be up so early though even though it will be a miracle if it arrives at 7am. I do wish that firms would not give such a large estimate of time of delivery, it should be within the possibility to break it down into am or pm these days. It is just laziness.
Elizabeth so good to see you, I hope you have a pleasant weekend.
Mel, well done your OH for getting the mower fixed finally and the lawns mowed. It will all look nice for summer now. Have you got any protective goggles you could put on while working up by the wall, grit in your eye could cause a real problem. Yes nice to look forward to another girl although I still prefer the old way of not knowing. However my niece 30 years ago was told she was having a boy and had a girl. That is much worse as it was inconvenient as well as disappointing. I think the scans these days are much more reliable. Well I shall sneak back for another lie down for a while I think. Tesco delivery 10-11am today. Then nothing else on.

Another little girl how nice. Inara will like that to have a little playmate when she's grown a bit bigger and she can help with baby.
Island when I tore a muscle in my back bringing a bell down it felt like rope breaking. Its not been the same since.
You got a nice lot done in the garden today Ann so thats three of us with Anng too. Even oh commented on it looking nice and tidy this year. I have some Lupins to put in up there that I grew from seed last year but I have been trying to get a lot of the couche grass out. It comes out of the lawn and creeps into the border.
They did'nt take long to put the windows in so you were'nt held up for long getting in the garden. Funny how you did'nt notice the 7th window. Not like you at all. It will be nice when its all done and you have no misty windows anymore.

I think you're right about all the staying home and not being as supple Anng. We've certainly noticed how unfit we've become. All that rain in May kept us grounded too. How exciting to have a new babba on the way. I hope all goes well.

I know what you mean about the garden, Island, no sooner do you get one bit done than more is waiting. Still it keeps me occupied. Hopefully you just tweaked a muscle and a few days it will be better. Just try and take it easy. I think with all the staying home we lacked exercise so our bodies are not as supple as they were.
It seems that the great grandchild expected in November us a girl. So a sister for .inara although not a playmate as there will be five years four months difference in their ages.

Evening All,
Another warm day! The glass man arrived on the dot of 8.00am with his son and they got the 7 panes replaced in an hour. His son cleaned the windows Mandy which was good. :-) We are one window pane short though, don't know how that happened as it wasn't even on the quote either and I hadn't noticed. He has measured it and will come back to do that one. I'm getting him to quote for a new bathroom window and frame too with both the top and bottom windows opening to help clear the steam and condensation better. If it doesn't cost too much we'll get that done before we repaint the bathroom. More wiping down as he had to come inside, but we were masked and had the patio door, front door and most windows open.
That's a shame you have been so tired since your second jab Mandy. I know OH felt tired after his. Hopefully it will start to wear off a bit each day now. OH keeps rubbing his head and asking me to look at it. I'm sure he thinks there should be an 'egg' there but apart from being a bit red it looks ok.
I bet that was a real pick me up seeing your granddaughter Vera. I see you had a bad night last night. I was ok till I woke up sweltering and realised I had the duvet up round my neck. Once I pushed it down and cooled off I felt better.
AnnG it seems the covid cases are going up everywhere. I looked at ours today and in our district alone the rate per 100,000 is now 57.6, but in one area of the city it is 203.5 per 100,000. It makes me wonder what the rate will be in the city by the time my knee appointment comes around in a few weeks time as it will only be much worse if the restrictions are lifted. The indian variant is 91% of the new cases now and so much more easily caught, but at least we have some protection against it being serious with the 2 jabs. That's good your car has had a spin.
I hope the mower is working ok now Mel and that he can get that long grass under control again. He does keep everything nicely mown and looking good. Is your computer ok again now? You can reset it to an earlier date to get rid of some unwanted changes. If you ask how to do it on google it will tell you. I see you have been up the wall and got something in your eye which is horrid, but is hopefully ok now.
We got more of the Livingstone daisies planted and a couple of pots with geraniums and I potted up 2 more lettuce plants. I also put things back in the ensuite window and cleaned the front door and OH did some more weeding so we have had a good day, even though we were achy from wrestling with the bed yesterday. OH has sorted what goes back in the bed drawers (mostly his clothes) and now there is much more space.
I bet the others are right Island and that your other side is complaining about having to take the strain.
I hope Frank's friend John is doing ok and will soon be home. It must be an extra worry being in hospital just now.
Another early start tomorrow as the second new tv is coming between 7.00am and 8.00pm.!! I hope the engineer can come afterwards too but it depends how he gets on with his other jobs tomorrow and when we get the delivery.

Evening all
Nooo...... I was manoeuvring into position to reach something under a hand rail in the garden, with left hand on the rail and before I could get in position, I felt something 'go'. I can only describe it as it felt like something rupture between my ribs. I'm getting cheesed off with hurting so easily these days. Sorting out the garden is taking forever as I can only manage a little at a time. We're looking forward to just sitting out there.

Anng my penies have go9t taller this year too but I did manage to tie a coupole of mine up earlier which has helped but the flowers are so heavy they bend over. I htink they are alol doing a Reach For The Sky.
O Island You could have been holding the other side funny and now its complaining. I hope it feels better soon.
Oh has got the mower going and has cut the west lawn and the one in front of the kitchen window and we now have proper stripes back. You could still see the stripes even though the grass was long.
I have tied up two roses on the wall and pulled off loads of ivy so i COULD SEE WHERE THE NAILS WERE TO PUT SOME WIRE UP. tHEN i GOT SOMETHING IN MY EYE SO HAD TO COME DOWN AND WASH IT OUT. wENT BACK UP THERE AND DID SOME MORE DIGGING on the border. Sorry did'nt mean to shout must have caught the key with my pinkie. Nearly joined up some of my digging now and its all looking a lot better.
Been overcast all day but quite warm and no wind here.

Anng could be right there Island when you have pain on one side you do tend to put more strain on the other side to compensate.
Its a bit cooler here now I haven't watered any pots or baskets tonight just the greenhouse.

Oh dear Island maybe you have been favouring your left side while the right side healed and it just needs a rest. Hope it soon feels better.
I don't think I can get the peonies to be supported now so they are going to have to flower as they are, Maybe that will be an excuse to pick them and have them indoors, or some of them anyway. They are definitely taller this year as I have checked a photo of previous years. It is quite an old plant, It was in my parents garden and we moved it when we sold dad's bungalow when he went into a home in about 1997. So has been in our garden 24 years.
Mandy you have the same weather as us. very windy and cloudy but 21 degrees here. and, despite the wind it still seems humid. I think the new cases will very likely be among the students and young people who are not sticking to the social distancing. It is also good to hear that the double jab does give very good protection.

Afternoon all,
Quite breezy here today but still really warm out even though its cloudy and not that sunny.
Oh Ann I see you've had or should I say OH has had a bit of an accident with of your favourite vases is it beyond repair or do you think it could be saved. How is OH's head not to sore i hope after that knock . Hope they can get all the new glass in today for you ,you'll need the window cleaner then to get rid of the finger marks
Mel it sounds as if the mower is coming along nicely, OH will be out mowing when its all done . Oh the naughty deers eating all the plants again
Vera you must have been over the moon to have that time with your granddaughter, hope you've managed to get your voice back after all the catching up you had to do .
Anng thats not good with all the rising cases your way ,all you can do is still keep away from any crowded places ,with having the two jabs its protected you but there's still some who are refusing to have the jab which means it will be around for ever at this rate .
Oh Island you poor thing one side gets a little easier and then you get pain the other side ,hope it soon feels better.
Frank hope the headache has eased for you.
We had a trip to the tip today to get rid of some garden rubbish it was quiet when we first got there but by the time we had finished it was really busy. We then called and got a bag of dog food from Mole Valley ,we got a different one this time ,Max is not keen you should have seen his face he looked at me as if to say what on earth is this your giving me its a lighter food as the vet said he could do with losing a bit of weight, at the moment he still has some in his bowl but usually he clears the bowl.

arrghh!!! my eye sight :-| I read 'I have had to try and tie my people up...' it took me a while to fathom what Anng meant. At first I thought it was family tree but it was a peonie. Ours is just coming into bud - a sign of rain usually.
No sooner had my right side ribs stopped aching I now seem to have done some damage to my left side - with very little/ no effort. Not happy :-| :-( I give up.
Hi all, hope you are all ok.

Just actually driven my car round to the post office, needed to draw some money as well. So at least it has been run this week.
I have had to try and tie my peonie up, it is really tall this year, not sure how T used to support it but it is going to have to stay as it is at the moment, so many buds on it too.

Morning Vera and Anng and all,
Very humid here today and grey sky with it but some bright patches. Oh is out puddling about with the mower and its looking more like the mower I know now instead of a skelliton up onthe ramp.
I need to get up the wall today and tie in two roses as one thats hanging forward has been eaten by you know who but the bit thats up the wall still has a beautiful pink rose on it.

Good morning AnnG and all
Very overcast and “heavy” at the moment and it is already 19 degrees. OH has gone out for his walk before it gets too hot.
The Covid report from your area is not good news AnnG, but the jabs do seem to be offering a lot of protection. I am sure you will be fine if you continue with your normal level of caution. We have been lucky so far in this area. I checked a little while ago and the latest figures I could find were for the week 31st May to 6th June and in that week there were 4 new cases. There were no cases in our local hospital which covers a very wide area.
I had a better night and have been up for ages but I haven’t dressed or had breakfast yet so I’d better do that now.

Good morning all, Grey here at the moment, cloudy 16 degrees and dry so far.
This is not good:-
Another 50 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Gloucestershire today, as the infection rate remains the highest in the South West.
According to the latest government data, every area in Gloucestershire recorded a rise in Covid cases.
Cheltenham saw 15 new cases, closely followed by Gloucester's 11. This puts Gloucester’s total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic at 6,603. Meanwhile, Tewkesbury recorded seven new cases, Forest of Dean and Cotswold saw six and Stroud reported five.
This city's Covid rate per 100,000 people is 59.6 after 77 cases were confirmed between May 29 to June 5. This is higher than the national average of 50.3, and significantly above the South West's 18.3.
As of June 8, Government figures show seven Covid patients were being cared for at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS - and one is battling on a ventilator.
Guess I have to continue to stay away from town.
However the odds are good Having two vaccinations slashes the chances of getting Covid to just one in 22,500, it was revealed yesterday.
Those who are fully vaccinated are three times less likely than those who have had only had one dose of the jab, according to a study.
The risk of catching Covid rises to one in 2,908 in those who are unvaccinated
So maybe it is ok to go to town. But I am not going today. will soon though

Knees fine now thank you Vera and we got the part for the mower and he's put it on and the paint had dried so we got the top back on the mower. Now he has to fit all the wires back on and the peddles. I hope the thing works now as the grass is growing like billyo.
It must have made your day to have thoses hugs from your granddaughter and a good natter too I expect. A 50 mile round trrip is'nt so much to the younger ones.
Its been a dull cloudy day all day with that very fine mist like rain in the air its been like living in a cloud.
I tied up three clematis and my sweet peas and thats about all really. I made the sheep sh*t pie for dinner with a nice bit of spring greens. There was veg in with the meat too and now I feel very full.
My pc is all over the place at the moment its all changed and I don't know how to get it back like I want it. Its something to do with Firefox.
