The saga continues.......
The fitter and his mate have taken the old boiler out and prepared to put the new one in when we get it but the suppliers don’t always have our sort in stock and sometimes they have to be ordered in. They will ring us as soon as they know and if it can be delivered today they will be back tomorrow. I’m not optimistic.
Just as they were going out the door an electrical chap turned up to test the electrics having driven from Clacton. No-one had thought to tell him we hadn’t got the boiler yet! He’s in here now testing as much as he can.
I hope it stays dry for you this afternoon AnnG.

Morning All,
It's dry here at the moment but weak sunshine and rain is forecast. It's good you got your boiler and I hope the fitter has arrived now Vera. It should all get done today if he has. As you say, so much preparation and time is wasted when folk don't turn up.
Edit: Just seen your later post Vera as I didn't post straightaway! What a disappointment it's the wrong boiler!!!
Good luck with the clematis Mel. You didn't say what kind it is but I assume a Montana if it has formed a dense thicket! Our neighbour, amazingly, has cut back the ivy that was growing all through our wooden fence. He's not a very obliging sort usually so maybe OH suggesting we may be getting a new fence spurred him on!
We've had another amazon spam call this morning. I said to OH they must have us on speed dial now!

:-D Vera Oh dear the fitter is probably thinking the same. So it looks like another day wasted. what a performance.
This weather is very strange I am a bit apprehensive about the 'meeting' in the park this afternoon, those clouds do scud across the sky fast don't they. and I am almost forced to go on the bus now as I have found out that there is a walk in vaccination clinic from 2pm -4pm and the car park for the park is not very big but is very convenient for the community centre where the walk in clinic is being held.

This is turning into a farce now. The new boiler that has been supplied is the wrong one!!! I know British Gas asked a company at Ipswich to deliver it as our nearest supplier but I don't know whether it's BG or the Ipswich company that has got it wrong. I don't know what is happening as the fitter is on the phone now trying to sort it.
The gods aren't smiling on me today. I decided I could manage to walk a little further today. Just as I was at the furthest point from home the sky suddenly got black and the heavens opened. I was wearing a short cagoule but I was still soaked by the time I got back.
I think I'll go back to bed and start again tomorrow.

Wonder how Gill is getting on?

Just as I did the last post the phone went. It was the fitter to say he was on the way and he should be here in the next 10 minutes or so now. With such a late start I hope he can still do it in one day.
Oh that’s frustrating for you AnnG. Good job you have an alternative. Life was simpler before all these technological advances that were going to make our lives easier.
It’s not actually raining at the moment so I’m going for a short walk before it starts again.

How very annoying Vera, it is like banging your head against a brick wall. good job it is not winter time.
I am really aggravated this morning too, although not as inconvenient as your problem.
I have had to aobtain a new M&S credit card as I was the extra on OH's card which is now cancelled of course. I have the card and I have the pin but I can't use it until I have activated it. To activate it I have to register with M&S Bank. For three days now I have been trying. I have tried two ways, on line banking and via their app. each time it lets me put in all the relevant card information and then says they are very sorry but they have a problem on their system so please phone to continue. I dare not try and do this over the phone because if I mis-hear it could really mess things up. good job I don't need the card, I have an alternative.

Grrrr........no gas fitter, no phone call. We will have to start phoning ourselves shortly to find out what is going on. The trouble is we have been given so many different numbers to ring but none of them seem to be for the fitters/engineers. I am not happy :-|

Morning AnnG, Mel and all
Much the same here, dull and damp. I think it has rained quite a bit overnight, now it's just drizzly.
The boiler arrived OK yesterday. Now all we need is someone to fit it. He should have been here by now but so far there is no sign of him. OH has given up and gone to have a shower. All this hanging around waiting is such a waste of time.

I look forward to seeing the latest picture. Compared to 14, six years old is almost new. We have never had a new or even almost new car.

I'm the same AnnG and wouldn't have the foggiest what car to buy next. They are saying now that the hybrids will be banned and th e electric cars don't go far without a charge and where are all the charging points and what a price they are! I've even wondered about leasing till things settle down and get better organised. Mine is 6 years old and very low mileage and I will hang onto it for now, but OH could do with changing his soon. Yes, a nuisance he can be, but better that than not here at all as you say.
Mandy those jets don't half make you jump sometimes. We get them from RAF Luffenham and they are so loud, until you can see them you think they are going to crash.
I have finished this weeks pen and wash picture now and next Monday will be the last week. I will send it tomorrow, a nice garden scene we were encouraged to use artistic licence with! I have also bidfor a nice box of used watercolours in the brand I prefer on Ebay. Little used and far more colours than I have so would be good.
The window man rang to say he will come and fit the window unit he forgot later tomorrow. I can see what the bathroom window he has quoted for will be exactly like then.
Just one scam phone call today , but 3 email scams. :-S
Hope your boiler arrived Vera and I hope you won with the clematis Mel. What kind is it?

Enjoy your 'me' time Ann. It is funny that when T was alive I loved the golf days when I had time on my own. Now I would give almost anything to have him back underfoot again.
Yes we used to have a two door Mercedes and that had two very big doors so we often had trouble getting in and out in some car parks. I was quite worried that the sports car driver might have a problem when they returned as it was a two door but luckily I guess it was a member of staff as it was still there when I came out. I have to have my seat well forward as well and, even now, I am not sure I have achieved the best position for the seat, too far forward and it is not comfortable as my knees are quit near the steering wheel column, another notch back and I don't feel in control of the clutch properly.
Daughter wants me to think about changing my car (it is 14 years old but still fairly low mileage. I just wonder if it is worth it. It is definitely a bit 'clunky' and it would be good to have a rear parking camera. But then I am not sure what I would go for.

Afternoon All,
It started sunny but cooler here, then went dull and is sunny again now. While it was cooler we planted the rest of the livingstone daisies. They were quite matted together so got planted in clumps and I'll just see how they do. What's left can go in a pot! I did the front wall planters as well and they are back on the wall again.
OH has gone to a face to face meeting in the city this afternoon. I'm not keen on him going but the precautions were very good at the last meeting with tables and seats really well spaced and sanitiser on every table, all doors to the outside open. The 7 day rate in Harborough is over 152 per 100,000 now, but the city is just over our district rate of 114.
Oh Vera, what a disappointment the boiler won't get fixed today. Still, it's good they have kept in touch with what's happening or should I say not happening.
I know Will and am in touch with him on FB most days. He, Fiona, Kim, Frank, Shirl and I are all friends on there. Will's poems are absolutely brilliant as is his art. He gives me useful feedback on my own paintings, which is very good as he used to be a technical illustrator/designer with Rolls Royce before he retired.
Glad you managed to park ok AnnG. That will be good if you will be able to take dressings with you to your daughter's.I have trouble parking my car as the doors are so long and I have to have the seat well forward with being short. It makes it hard to get out if I can't open the doors far.
It's quite nice to have some time on my own now. I've bleached the sinks etc and not had to warn OH and can do some more painting with some music turned up LOUDER! lol. :-D

Vera its good you have had phone calls so you know whats going on. Hope they have delivered the boiler by now. So the rest of the day is yours now till tomorrow when thye come to fix it.
Glad you did'nt get wet after all Anng and that your wound seems to be drying up at last. Shame about the parking though but you managed.
I started to cut the dead flowers off the clematis on the side of oh's filter shed this morning but had to stop to get lunch. I shall go back out there after posting this. Its turned really warm and very sunny here with blue sky and lots of whispy white clouds and big white ones too.
Must get on. BBL.
