Yes thank you Mandy, we had a lovely couple of hours with daughter, granddaughter and grandson. It wasn't so much catching up on news as we do that anyway by phone, email and text but it was just seeing them face to face and having a hug and being able to walk round the garden with my daughter and see what she's growing and hear what her plans are for developing it. Theatrical work is very limited for granddaughter at the moment so she is earning a living working in a bakery and she had brought back some delicious cakes. They were so good I spoilt myself with two. Granddaughter is getting bits of work and when we left was just going off to a rehearsal. As long as restrictions are lifted enough there is going to be one of these murder mystery evenings where people pay a fortune to be part of a murder scenario and work out who the murderer is. She is one of the actors presenting it. The so called murder takes place at a wedding and the people attending will supposedly be wedding guests and they will be served a 3 course wedding breakfast. I'm told people often pay a lot of money for these "murder mystery" evenings. We also saw our grandson this morning which was good as we haven't seen him since June last year.
Thanks for sending the photos of your park visit AnnG. Even though we all write about these things, it's nice to actually see pictures of places you have been and things you have done.
I hope Frank has enjoyed his lunch out and your big breakfast went down well Mel. Good luck with your x-ray tomorrow.
Has your OH fully recovered from his migraine Ann?
You are all right about the TV at the moment. I don't watch a lot anyway but lately there doesn't seem to be anything on that I want to see. I've usually got at least 2 books on the go but last night I finished both the one on my iPad and the paperback I was reading so I need to sort something out to read tonight.
Right now I must go and sort some veg out as I want to eat about 6 pm.

I think maybe the TV paper might be wrong as looking at the schedule on the TV it looks as though Counrtyfile and Antiques Roadshow might well be on. Yes there are more than one Midsummer. I have seen them all before, some more than once but I still enjoy watching them. sometimes I can't even remember whi is guilty!!

Yes Anng that's probably what would happen if we tried it out :-D
No there was no gossip Mel we just chatted about everyday things and they were telling me the little school is having a car boot type of sale next Saturday just run by the teachers I don't think there's any cars involved as its teachers only running it they are not allowed to have people in to help ,son is helping as he's at the school ,he said they had two lovely dyson cleaners and a television donated and lots of other nice things it all helps school funds I expect they will only let so many in at a time .,one out one in . Anng your right the television is useless this evening ,I did see i think on itv 2 a Mid summers followed by a Vera but both repeats so we would have seen them first time round ,like you we have things on the planner . We watched a film last night had seen before I think it was called Finding your feet ,it had Emelda Staunton and Celia Imery in it ,itsa nice little film if you can find it on catch up its worth a watch .
Still catching the bunnies then Mel ,I meant to ask if Monas still eating the eggs.
Lovely out here in the sunshine still quite a wind blowing but not cold .
Hope Veras had a nice day catching up with her family.

Quite warm out there but very dull and quite a strong breeze. Just spent an hour out there dead heading roses and cutting back lemon balm which seems to like our garden, I have never planted it yet it is all over the garden, The wild flowers are lovely today as a lot of poppies are among the cornflowers. I like that packet of seeds they were excellent.
Have you seen the TV for this evening. Nothing but football on both channels all evening. And nothing much on the rest. Good job I have got lots recorded that I can watch.

Brightened up a bit here and we've had a little sun and boy is it warm when you're in it.
I have shot a rabbit, thrown it over the field for the fox or whoever wants it, had a walk along the border and made sausage rolls for tonight tea as I did'nt buy pasties yesterday. O and fed the tomatoes. So I feel I have achieved something this morning now. May get the hoover out and do the kitchen.
Anng its always good to save spanners as they are used for so many things.
Mandy enjoy your visit from the family. You may get a nice bit of gossip.
Getting the big breakfast ready now so its all ready to cook whenever oh wants it.

Mandy please don't try the shooting stick in the garden we don't want to hear of either of you upside down with legs in the sir!!
Mel, thank you, I had actually not thought of that, as some will be my Dad's and some Tony's it is highly likely there will be a mixed bunch.
Washing in the drier, one lot already dried. And two bits of Photography group admin done. I had a short list of non gardening jobs to do so that is three crossed off the list. ( four because download photos was one of them and I did that yesterday.

Anng I meant to say T's spanners are probably the old ones and the new metric ones so he would have needed the old ones for some things and the new ones for others. Its best not to throw spanners out as you never know when someone may need one.
Vera its going to be lovely to see your daughter today and your granson. That should cheer you up no end.

Morning Anng, Vera and all,
Very grey day here this morning and it looks a bit windy out ther e too but not b een out there yet.
Hands are a bit achey this morning from yesterdays pulling up grass and I managed to pull up the small tarp that has a load of Nerines on it. Its from years ago when oh dug the whole clump out for me to sort out and replant. It never got done so has been up there in hte border for about 4 or 5 years and I have just worked around it. I sort of flipped it over onto the grass and flipped it back when I came back down to the house.
Its my xray tomorrow at 11.30am at Stratton hosp for my hip so today is hair wash day and get my clothes ready for the morning. It takes about an hour to get there I think so if I don't get on here in the morning you will know I hav'nt had time.

Good morning AnnG and all
It’s not supposed to rain here until this evening but it’s so grey that it looks as though it is going to pour at any minute. It feels quite warm though I haven’t stepped outside yet.
My cousin’s funeral was on Friday and I watched a recording yesterday. It was so sad to see only 9 immediate family members there in this cavernous church. Quite apart from Covid restrictions, she lived in Cornwall so those of us who would normally have gone couldn’t travel that far at the moment. Very sad.
We are going to my daughter for coffee this morning. It’s a 40-45 minute drive but it will give the car a run and be good to see her after several months. My grandson may also be there and I haven’t seen him for over a year. There will be 4 or possibly 5 of us and hopefully we can sit in the garden but, if not, we will be within the rules to sit in her living room.
Better get on as I want to put a brisket of beef in the slow cooker for our dinner.
Enjoy your day.
PS. It’s raining now

Good morning all, supposed to be a wet day here but no sign of rain at the moment although the sky is just grey. I slept very well until 0615, then laid there until 7am. If it doesn't rain it will be a bit more tidying in the garden I think, if it does rain probably HW. Bedding will be changed anyway.
Mandy you saying about the shed and tools to sort, reminds me that I have a large amount of spanners in the garage to sort out. Not sure why T had so many, maybe I will realise when I start to sort them, maybe they are all different, but I am pretty sure they are not.
Annx what part of working out to make a card is the problem? I don't usually make cards on the PC But I do print inserts sometimes for them. I have actually made cards on there but years ago and with a different computer and programme. Have you got 'Publisher' on your PC? That might help although it may well be that windows 10 has got something to help. Page layout might be the place to look, maybe 'columns'.

When I can work out how to print a card I might see if one would sell Mandy! Your shed sounds a bit like our garage with all those screws, nails etc. We have FIL's garden and other tools as well as our own and there are even broken ones of his as he never threw them away. You can bet that we will want something we chuck out, but we never know where it is if we want it anyway. Colin had a lot of levels didn't he! :-D. Those security cameras are a good idea these days. A couple of our neighbours have put some up. (we have to be careful not to be seen if we look over the fence) lol. :-D

Evening all
Its been nice and warm in the sunshine today it was drizzling first thing but it didn't last long .
Well Vera what a saga with your boiler ,glad you now have it all sorted and I hope its working OK now .
Ann the others are right you are an artist and your paintings would easy sell they are all beautiful as we have all said before .
We have been in the shed again trying to thin out a lot of Colins work stuff ,I moved all sorts just inside the door and cleared no end of thick spider webs ,I counted nine levels ,three sledge hammers ,three picks , there's no end of things to go through ,Colin found a new jigsaw in a case there's umpteen drills and boxes and tins of nails and screws ,all these things came out of his van and were just dumped in the shed .
Anng it looked a nice dry day for your photography ,thats nice its started again it will be something to look forward too , that was good of the chap to give you a lift home.
Son is going to put up a security camera for us he bought two and put them up on his house, he said they are OK so he ordered one for us which came today ,ever since we had someone come over the wall and they slit into the pool we've felt a bit uneasy so we hope this will help .

Your photos are very nice AnnG and I love the meadow of wild flowers and the scottie! Your garden wild flowers are lovely too as are your gorgeous roses and other flowers.
Mel, I got a free tiny box of Sennelier paints (8 colours) with a magazine sub and really like them so was hoping to get some more. They are the ones with squares rather than tubes and although expensive have more pigment so last longer. Having said that I haven't really tried any others! lol. I've seen some of theirs called l'aquarelle now that are supposed to be more luminous which sounds interesting so I will see if OH will get me some for my birthday.
Washing's all dry which is good and I think I have sussed what adapters we need to connect the Wii to the new tv. Just to be sure we are popping to Curry's down the road first thing Monday to ask them before they get busy.
OH had a migraine so had a lie down this afternoon, but revived to watch the footie!
Did you see where children have been doing the home covid test using orange juice as it gives a positive result? They can stay off school then can't they!!

Afternoon Everyone,
What nice encouragement you all give me...thank you! <3
That's great you have a working boiler now Vera! You must be chuffed after the shaky start to the process. It's good the engineer will help you if needs be too.
It sounds like a nice park AnnG with something for everyone. Jubilee Park here has the river running through it and is quite small, more for dogs really. No equipment there as it floods completely at times in the winter. The parks at neighbouring villages are marked out with sports pitches but one has a childrens' area with the usual play equipment and another area with outdoor gym equipment.
It's started spitting with rain here, just as the washing was half out, so it's back in the basket now.
Good to hear from you Frank and I hope you have managed to book a meal for tomorrow as it sounds like a trip out would do you good.
Well I was outbid for the box of paints I wanted on Ebay. Still there will be other chances if I keep a lookout.

that is good Vera, quite quick eventually then.
I think with family history, except for those who are really fanatical about it. It is good to have the tree for people to see and any cerificates, proof etc. that is one side of it. But the bit that non FH enthusuasts are interested in are the stories. so, start with your life story, your children and grandchildren will be interested in that, then, if you have stories regarding your parents and grandparents that can't be woven into your own life story, write those up and I actually print mine off as well as having it on line and keep the whole thing in a ring binder. ine for obvious reasons needs bringing up to date so I have just found a job for a wet day.
