It sounds like you've had lots of nice presents and cards. I lost track of the days this week and thought yesterday was Saturday so your card will be a little late as it was posted yesterday and there's no post on a Sunday.

I've decided to have a day off from the garden today as there's a bit of rain around and I fell over yesterday on my hand so that's a bit sore today. I made a start on the waste ground ages ago which was very overgrown and full of fly tipping. There's not much left to do so I'll be making a start on our back garden soon, then onto the jungle of a front garden, so still a way to go yet.

The jobs inside seem to have come to a standstill as the builders who said they'd give us quotes never did, so I need to ring another builder to have the bathroom done. That's all that's left to do apart from the boarding of the loft and a way of getting in there, then we can finally start decorating, buying carpets and unpacking. We also need to have a new bathroom and kitchen fitted. I really hope it's all done by the time the winter is here, but it's not looking good.

OH has gone to the dentist as his tooth is playing up, I think he might have to have it taken out. He was on night's last night and again tonight, so I think he might go back to sleep when he gets home.

I'm a bit achy today after putting in so many hours outside so I'll run a bath to see if that helps. Both my hands are really sore pulling all the Ivy out of the ground, it's everywhere and really hard to get rid of, it's even grown up the trunks of all the trees, so much so a few of the smaller trees had died and had to be cut down. Hopefully the bath will help. I'll try and catch up with the posts later. I hope everyone is okay.

Mel did any of the seeds I sent you germinate? Poppies I sent you last year.

Sounds like lovely pressies Ann just your sort of thing. Hope dinner was'nt spoilt with a noise coming from the kitchen!! :-D :-D :-D Enjoy your day and presents. Glad you liked the poppy seeds they grow about 2 foot to 2 and a half foot tall at least but only the flowers the leaves seem to be evergreen and low growing. Sow some now for next year and some in the spring if the others fail. Mine in the tarmac are all self sown. <3

glad you liked it Ann, however, I sent 6 cards out at the same time and can't for the life of me remember what yours was. I do always choose cards for the person when making them but I made those cards over two days and didn't use any from my stock give me a clue :-D

Sounds like you did well with your presents. I don't think I can add lenses to me Lumix cameras. would you know? Hope luch had not met with an 'incident'. :-)

The sun is shining weakly here so I might get a wash done.

Thank you for all your kind birthday wishes and the lovely cards. That is a nice one you made AnnG. Thank you also for the poppy seeds so nicely wrapped Mel. (How tall do they grow so I know where best to put them?) They will make a nice addition and a pop of colour next year.

OH is 'cooking' lunch as he calls it (hotting up really but I'm not complaining!) The sticky toffee pudding will be enjoyed too Mandy. I did get some paints Mel, some camera lenses for closeups, also 2 books I had asked for, one on pen and wash painting that the teacher recommended and OH found me another book that looks good. OH is also paying for another online painting course I'm signing up to with a different teacher in the autumn.

Must dash now as lunch timer has dinged, but noises from OH in the kitchen sound a bit worrying? :-S BBL later to catch up with the posts.

Morning all,

Another dull cloudy day the only good thing about it is its Ann's birthday and its not raining at the moment.

I was hot when I went to bed last night and found it hard to drop off then I dreamt before I arose for the loo and again after I went back to bed. Can't tell you what the first one was but the second one was something about a big pie that someone had made me so I can remember saying "Its all round to mine then tonight" who the others were I do not know but we were in a cottage somewhere and going to put on a show I think. Weird or what? :-S

Morning all

Nice and bright here but its raining I think we had quite a bit over night I have bath towels in the washer I'm hoping it will clear out so they can go out on the line .

Anng you have some nice toms coming along mine are very slow this year but we have picked a couple of servings of dwarf beans and a couple of mini cues and by the end of the week I think there will be a few runners ready to pick .

Oh looking promising the sunshine out .

You were an early bird this morning AnnG. They were lovely flower pictures you sent and you are doing well with your tomatoes. They look as though they’ll be full of flavour. The cat could be a twin to my old Molly. He/she obviously feels comfortable with you.

It’s grey and WET again this morning. Will this rain ever stop? I need to change the bedding and get some washing done but it will have to go in the drier or be draped over an airer. We’ve got friends coming for coffee at 11 am so I’d better get moving and get the washing on.

Still raining here on and off. Could have been watching that puff of wind being kicked about gave G his migraines.

I have'nt done much again today I did dead head my little pot of violas on thebird bath and filled the bird feeder up which they have kindly emptied for me but I did see blue tits today and the house sparrows who I hav'nt seen for a while. Hav'nt touched my poly clay. Did boil my dish clothes and tidied the kitchen a bit. Just a bit.........

I put washing in this morning and never turned the machine on. :-|

Mel I haven't seen any baby birds being fed this year.........yours have been busy haven't they. i have been waiting for your rain to reach us all day. I just looked out and the car is wet, but the drive is dry so it has been trying. I could have washed and dried today after all.

Lunch was very nice Mandy and plenty of it! I shall miss my Sundays off from cooking now. I can just imagine the girls on their scooters scooting along to see you. It' s good for them to have a little time to be responsible for themselves but safely and able to be contacted with their phones. Some exercise for them too. Thanks in advance for my card that I won't have to fumigate! I forgot it was my birthday when I put the last food order in, so no cake! We did have a sticky toffee pudding in the freezer which I'm defrosting so that will be nice. We have 2 lamb dinner meals in the freezer that I got for when we got back from holiday to be easy, but we didn't use them, so OH suggested we have them tomorrow and he will get them for us.. You are doing well with your bracelets and the daisy patterns are pretty. I have a daisy necklace I made a while ago. I must find it and wear it again.

OH is glued to the footie and has informed me it is a draw up to now. He's had 2 migraines in the past week so he's not bothered with any alcohol. He'd usually have a pint on these occasions.

Ahh he comes for a bit of piece and quiet and to see his friend.

I put holly branches in the basket to deter the birds.
Little black cat is my shadow, he lives in the next road and spends a lot of his time sleeping in my conservatory. His owner knows she works, has children and four cats.

Your toms in the basket are really doing well and so many on such a small plant. I can't grow those like that now as the Blackbirds eat them.

Been watching the Dunnock feed their baby and the Blackbirds and the Robin feeding his third lot this year.

Just started raining here now, friend has just gone. Gosh non stop talking for 2 hours is exhausting, I am out of practice.

it seems to have stopped raining but we now have thunder rumberling around.
