Afternoon Everyone,
27 degrees here and far too hot for me. I had to water the greenhouse again this morning despite it having a drenching last night. The cues are slurping it up! Mandy that happened to my cues last year and Mel said they needed a lot of feed. I did that and they were fine afterwards. :-)
I've got my new craft light rigged up now. It has a slight magnification I can use and has LED lights and is much cooler than using the ancient thing with just a light bulb that I was using.
The lucky find, replacement vase for the one OH smashed has arrived and is also perfect, no chips or cracks and is in place now. I still can't believe I found one the same!
I love the beach that AnnG was on and it would be nice today with a bit of a breeze. It's what I like to see on holiday, can't be doing with crowds of people.
Vera I don't envy anyone doing a walk or a run today in this heat, They have done well with the money they have raised though. Hope they have lots of drink along the route for them.
I have found a firm that I can order hot food through that they will deliver from a range of places. It's called just-eat if anyone's interested and they will collect and deliver from one of our carvery haunts we used to go to for £2.50. It seems you can only put an order in on their website within I think about a day. (it lists times and you just pick when you want your food delivered). I am going to try them for a carvery tomorrow as the other place we've been using has stopped now the restrictions are going on Monday.
That's good you have more eggs Mel, you must be beating Mona to it!
OH is watching the Rugby and I am going to carry on painting for a while and hope it will cool down.

Getting hotter here as well. My BBC weather app. tells me it’s currently 25 degrees but feels like 28 and it’s set to get another degree or two hotter. My dil and her sister are doing the MacMillan marathon hike in Northumberland today and the app is saying it is currently 27 degrees but feeling like 31. Can you imagine walking 26 miles in that heat? I just keep hoping they are OK. The two of them have raised nearly £800 for the charity.
I went for a walk earlier this morning. I only did about 1.5 miles and that was enough. I could feel my feet beginning to swell in the heat.
That’s a lovely photo of you and your daughter AnnG. I do like Wastwater though it’s many years since we were last there and then we walked across the fells to it with my brother who was a qualified mountain leader. My days of fell walking are long gone lol.
I can hear strange noises from the kitchen so must go and investigate what OH is up to.
Enjoy your afternoon and stay cool

Good morning another lovely sunny morning. Think we will just have a short journey to Maryport harbour this morning as we drove a long way yesterday to Waste water and then back over the fells where we had a picnic by a stone circle. From the fells we could see the Isle of Mann and part of the coast of Ireland it was so clear.
I think Inara and grandson and granddaughter in law might be coming this afternoon.

Afternoon all
Sunny here, too bright for me though with my dodgy eye - not moaning, honest!
I don't know what to make of your dream Vera - had you been on the mouse food?
Veg beds are filling out nicely now. I'll try taking some better photos.
Mel, h'mail won't open Anngs photo for me. Mind you, hotmail is a law unto itself these days - always putting some emails into junk regardless of me constantly creating folders.

Afternoon all,
Lovely sunny day here but still chilly if your in the shade we still have quite a good breeze a blowing which is keeping it cooler.
Thanks Mel for Anng photo looks a beautiful beach and you can see all the ripples in the sand where the tide has gone out .
I've hoovered through and hung some towels out ,fed all my pots and the green house ,poor old cucumber leaves have gone quite yellow now what's the cause of that, some of the tiny cues are yellow too but the ones above them are now coming on nice and green .
DIL had to have another injection she was sure they said blood test but thats next time ,its not the hospital Ann its a private clinic in the centre of Norwich she said the doctors have to pay for her to have these jabs. We went into Primark and I bought the children some more clothes, we were all spaced out in the shop but we did notice there were lots more people about this time ,we kept our masks on inside and outside the shop ,not to many on the bus so it was a nice little trip out .

Good morning
It’s a bright day and looks as though it’s going to be sunny and hot all day. I didn’t sleep too badly but I’ve been awake since 6 am. I kept drifting in and out of weird dreams which I can’t really remember except in snippets. In one someone was dressing me up in this white ball gown which involved lots of lace and feathers and in another I was some sort of armed policewoman and I was wading through water round and round a rectangular building. Each time I got to a corner I had to put a stone in a plate. What was all that about then?
Tesco were 15 minutes early yesterday and I did the wipe down in record time. Nothing missing and only one acceptable sub. I’ve been reading that veg might be in short supply soon because of a lack of people to harvest the produce and drivers to deliver it. It’s at times like this that I miss my big veg garden in our old house.
I’m having my hair cut this morning. OH is coming with me and will go for a walk while I am being coiffured and then we’ll go into the bank where we have our normal current account and get some info on their savings accounts. Then I have to drop some bp readings into the surgery. I can just put them through the letter box so I won’t have to go in.
Well, I’ve been awake for a couple of hours but haven’t yet had breakfast or got dressed so I’d better get a move on.
Enjoy your day everyone.

This the second lovely day we have had. Today blue sky all over and bright sun with hardly any breeze at all even by the sea. We went to Alloby for the morning. Walked a London way across the sands. Scotland (Galloway’ was really clear looked just a hop skip and a jump to get there. Back along the sand retracing our footsteps which we could see in the sand. We then bought ice creams and sat at a picnic bench for about an hour looking out over the cliff and T’s.king and enjoying the sun.what a lovely way to start my holiday. Came back to daughters, had a sandwich and then sat reading in the garden until Grandson called in To chat on his way home from work.

Your fish must be happy in your pond Mel if they are laying so well.
I’ve just come in from the garden and I wouldn’t call it hot here. I know just what Island means about the gentle breeze. It’s 20 degrees, though overcast, and it should feel comfortable but our gentle breeze has been upgraded to a moderate breeze and, yep, it’s from the north. Sometimes for a change it blows from the east but there are none of those southern zephyrs for us.
I did some deadheading and cut back a lot of stuff that had grown over the paved areas. I like it as it looks natural and softens the edges of the paving blocks but there comes a point when you can no longer find the path through and have to walk on the plants. I decided today that cut back time had arrived. Of course, that showed up all the dirt and muck that was under the plants so I also had to scrub the worst of the paviors with water and a stiff brush.
I’ve also vacuumed right through the house this morning and taken a broom outside to get down some of the cobwebs and muck round the door. Apart from the Tesco wipe down I don’t intend to do anything much for the rest of the day.

Gosh its hot out there. Had coffee by my pond and the big fish are all laying eggs again I shall be over populated at this rate but they are eating a lot of them.
Third wash nearly finished and I think I may go and do a bit of ironing before lunch.
