Evening All,
Thanks for the pics and that gladiolus is a beaut Mel. Just the colours I like! I see you have been picking more tasty looking things as well. That's a shame you can't get your bread rolls this week. I expect that sort of thing is to be expected more now that there are no restrictions. It's why so many businesses want us to keep to the old rules so their staff don't get sick. I've been finishing my food order today and noticed more things aren't available this time. I have signed up for a free course (2 hours) on painting fairies!! lol.
Oh dear Frank. I see Biggles is not having a good break with you this time. His 'accidents' might be due to his age, so I don't blame you for not having him again if it is. Mind you if it's tending to happen with the little chap, you'd think the owner would have warned you.
Sorry Mandy, I bet it was the school's freezer! The light went off again on ours today, but just for a minute or two, so I'm hoping it is just the lightbulb! So that's another yarn bombing being spoiled! They couldn't mend the one near us as they had cut the bees out of the crochet pillarbox cover they were sewn to. The lazy shoe helper is a good idea isn't it. I'm sure OH spoils the backs of his heels on his shoes with wriggling his foot into them.
At least you got a few things at the shop AnnG. OH went to a match this afternoon and said he heard on the radio about bad traffic on the M6/M5. I suppose it was holidaymakers as a lot travel on Fridays. Ah so skinny the cat was pleeased to see you when you got home!:-D Good idea to start on your Christmas cards!
They had so much rainfall in the city yesterday it flooded the hospital and a library and closed a few roads for a while. We are just 4 miles away and had hardly any.
Vera our new freezer in the garage does that dinging too so it must be something they put on fridges/freezers now. I suppose with a joint account they have to send the same to both of you. When I worked in a govt dept we had to do that. Not all couples are on good terms with each other and we had to cover ourselves by making sure we sent things to both individuals. We are sure our post is getting held back because of the 'Pingdemic' I am still waiting for my new debit card which should be here by now. Your blind fitting went very well then and didn't take long. Maybe I'll get moving on sorting ours next week.
Island I have some things to alter too, but haven't braved making space for and getting out my sewing machine yet! It will mean OH moving his work stuff off the dining table which won't be popular! I suppose I'd better check I have the right coloured cottons first.
I was reading that Greece could reach 40-50 degrees next week, as hot as the Sahara and they said southern europe could be hotter than usual too. We weren't mentioned so I hope it doesn't reach us.

Just pulled the tops off the spudatoes and took the tops ones off and I had 12oz enough for a dinner. Oh told me to leave the others in the soil as they will keep better that way.
Also 8oz blueberries and two eggs this morning.
Not bad for a bag of spudatoes that had started growing in the bin and I still have three more compost bags of them which I shall not touch yet. The first one planted was the tall grow bag and I have only taken about 5 inches of soil off.

Morning all
Oh dear Frank, naughty Biggles. Is he usually 'clean'? Our dog got incontinent in his later weeks but always tried to get to the back door and never any poos indoors. Perhaps Biggles just wanted to go home? :-0
Wet again today, more sewing - I bought three pairs of cheap cotton trousers 'for the summer' HA! Too big but I guessed they would shrink - not enough though LOL Last pair today, not very exciting or arty but needs must.
AnnG, I think it's a combination of me and the laptop with my typing. Sometimes the odd letter goes on strike and sometimes I guess I'm just dyslexic on the keyboard (?)

Frank is Biggles old now? He was probably putting his mark on your fleece. Its a shame because you enjoyed having him stay with you.

Good morning all, didn't have a great nights sleep, so feel tired this morning.
"BIGGLES" has blotted his copy book again. We came into theLounge this morning, to a wet carpet and one of my fleeces soaked, with a pile of POO alongside it. What with him falling into the pond yesterday, we have decided this is the last time we will have him. They will have to make other arrangements. They should pick him up later this evening.
Ros has gone to meet Martine and going to Morrison's for odds and ends.
I have booked a table for lunch out tomorrow, at the Cromwell Cottage. We always find the meals are very good and plenty of choice.
Quite overcast here today, so hope the rain holds off, if I decide to walk to the pub for a pint at lunchtime.
Hope you are all well, see you later. xxxx

Morning Anng and all,
Dull cloudy and raining lightly this morning.
I rang the shop for him to put me by some white rolls this morning early but he told me they would not be the same as usual as the bakery had gone down with corvid so I don't knw what they will e like as the usual ones are great.
I shall probably do some craft today as I only have the shop to do and a little wipe down and it dos'nt look good for doing any gardening. The border needs a lot of dead heading and the edges cut but its such a long way up there if it rains I get drenched by the time I have got back to the house. We will see..... :-(

good morning all, Tesco delivery 11-12 today, otherwise nothing planned unless I can get into the garden to carry on what I started when I got back. Only problem is that I only have a small space left in the bin and potentially a lot to fill it with. If it rains I hope to have a play with card making stuff but I can't settle if I know the garden should be done.

Mel, one is an elephant, not actually examined that one but it was not expensive one was a set of concentric shapes difficult to describe , the whole an irregular shape I.e. not a circle or oval. And the third a fairy in silhouette,
Island I am having finger trouble but that is because I am om The iPad and my nails are too long so keep touching the wrong key.

What a shame your f & c weren't very good Ann. It must be nearly 2 years since we had f & c. I love fish but I'm not a fan of batter unless it's really crisp. Sometimes it can be quite greasy. We used to occasionally have a pensioner's lunch from the local chippy but we haven't done that since before the first lockdown.
It's good that you got a few bits and pieces today on your trip out with Cynth, AnnG. Yes, this is not an easy year for you with all the "firsts" and anniversaries but keep hanging on to your happy memories.
Why does everything get vandalised these days? Damaging the yarn bombing shows such a lack of respect for other people. I suspect it might have been youngsters and often there's just one or two ringleaders and the others join in because they don't want to be thought cissies. Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions.
Mel, I'm not sure what to say about your potato-egg. It's certainly different. Your tomatoes look good. Everyone's tomatoes look better than mine :-( I love the glads; very striking colour.
The chap with the blinds arrived , took all the old stuff down, put up new rails (runners? not sure what they are called) and fixed up all the blinds in about 45 minutes. We are pleased with them. The bedroom ones are a plain cream and the lounge are a sort of patterned cream. The lounge ones are much lighter looking than our old ones and I was worried that they wouldn't give us enough privacy after dark but, with the light on in the room, I went outside at about 10 pm and couldn't see anything through the blinds.
Ann, we didn't have to answer all the questions you did to set up your account. We had originally gone into the branch and expected to be able to set up the account there but were told that they couldn't do it in branch. Goodness knows why not but they wanted me to do it online or by telephone. I already do a lot of banking online so opted for that but I wish I had done it by telephone. It was easy enough to fill in the form, particularly as we already have an account with them and so they pre-entered half the information for me. The problem was they kept sending emails to both OH and me, 2 each every time, wanting us to fill in things we had already filled in or agree to things we had already agreed to. Then today I got 2 emails telling me my email address had been changed (?!!). I was getting worried that maybe our details had been hacked in some way but I kept checking and everything appeared OK. I think they were just being particularly inefficient as tonight I got an email telling me there was correspondence in the secure mailbox online for me. It turned out to be the letter confirming that the account was set up and giving me the account number and other details. I think we're sorted at last but I'm not holding my breath. I'm wondering if sending two emails each time means they are now going to set up two accounts.
The wet, windy weather reached us this afternoon and we've had a lot of heavy rain and really gusty winds. I think a lot of the plants in the garden might be a bit flattened by tomorrow.
I think I'd better come to an end. You know me - once I get going I don't always know when to stop so I'll wish you all a good night and sweet dreams.

Wet wet wet today so I haven't checked the veg.
Mandy, I could do with some of those lazy shoe helpers as I'm a bit lazy with the laces in my plimmies and it would save hurting my finger. Mel, I'm sure you don't leave them on your shoes - unless you want to look like John Wayne LOL ;-) :-D
That gladdie is beautiful with it's splash of purple. Your toms are looking good and sweet too - the photo of some in the bowl is very arty. As for that eggstarordinary potato!
I'm pressing all the wrong keys here so will sign off for now

He must have missed you while you were away Anng. So you got some craft things then and what were the dies you bought of please?
Mandy I had a look at those shoe things and decided not much good for oh as he can't bend down.Do you have to leave them on the shoe once its on ? I have ordered instead the stainless shoe horn with the extenable handle which will do both of us. May keep it for Christmas as a small pressie under the tree.

Mandy that was just the sort of thing I needed for T last year. He had trouble getting his feet into his shoes.
Ann yes so much has happened in a year and yesterday was 6 months since t died.
We had a good day out even though the rain and traffic were horrendous driving up to Evesahm. It rained when we were first there but we sat chatting over coffee before going into the shops. bought quite a bit in the craft shop, it covers quite a few crafts but mainly papercraft. It does have a needlework and knitting/crochet part as well though. No beading at all, I got three dies and some distressed inks. but it was a bit disappointing as they didn't have Christmas dies in yet. No Cynth doesn't do craft work. I did buy a T shirt and a top reduced in the garden centre and a couple of T shirts for the great Grandsons when they come to see me on the 18th
when I got home and opened the outer door skinny the cat shot in.

That's good that you didn't need any treatment at the dentist Mel. You must be pleased.
I expect you're relieved that your freezer seems to be OK Ann. Our fridge and freezer both make a dinging noise if the door is left open for more than a couple of minutes but that's no help if you are out of earshot.
Mr Sainsbury has just turned up early with my order so must go. BBL

Oh I meant to mention a handy little thing I got Colin off amazon its called a Lazy shoe helper its brilliant you clip it on the heel of any shoe so your foot can just slide in to your shoe ,there was four in the pack I got but really you only need one but the four was only 4.99 .very handy if you have trouble getting your feet into shoes .
