Thanks for all your advice girls and I feel much better now after talking to a doctor. He told me that it can cause the stomach lining to thicken which could cause cancer but there again stopping taking it can cause the indigestion to come back two fold which is probably what has happened to me. Anyway I am much happier knowing I can carry on with it but I am cross I was'nt told I should ease them off and not just cut them out altogether. Now I just need to stop eating as much and lose a bit of weight.
Twenty three weeks on Thursday not smoking. :-D

I have just spoken to a doctor on the phone and explained everything and he has told me I can stay on my Omeprazole. I am so relieved as they do work and I can get back to eating what I like now.

Mel, I would follow AnnG's advice and ask the pharmacist if he thinks it would be OK for you to go back on Omeprazole just till you see the doctor. If he thinks it would be OK you can buy it over the counter. You only get a week's supply (7 tabs) and it's not cheap but it might be worth it just till you see the doctor. Check with the pharmacist first though.

Mel, You do really need to speak to someone rather than have to wait into next week.
There was an article on the Morning Live TV programme last week about what happens if you stop that medication too suddenly, as it causes even worse problems than previously, because the stomach goes into overdrive and produces more secretions than the body can cope with. Please ask for help rather than suffer more <3

There are six apartments in the house Mel, two large (2 and 3 bed), and a couple of cottages.
I think that your next move is to go and speak to your pharmacist and explain that you were not told to stop your other meds gradually and that violent indigestion is making you feel I’ll. tell them you can’t speak to a doctor for ten days. They should be able to help you. At least at home I had a list sent out with the info on pharmacists being qualified to help in cases like this.

Good morning all. No views this morning as it is raining. Not complaining it is the first rain since I got up here last Wednesday. So far the weather has been good.
Hope it eases off then we will be heading to a garden centre in Ambleside.
We were the only people here but yesterday a couple came into the small apartment along the passage with a dog. And then two cars and 3 men arrived for the Writing room downstairs,(the apt daughter owned). This appt is called the writing room.

Good morning all
I’ve been awake since 4.30 am again. I tossed and turned till 5.45 then got up and made tea. I’m on the iPad and it is telling me that it is cloudy and 13 degrees but it’s brilliant sunshine and feels warmer than that. I haven’t got any plans for the day except to change the bedding and do yet more washing. Have a good day whatever you are doing.

Oh dear Vera your poor head. But it sounds as if you might be getting some good help from the surgery. Hope you are ok now. We both had some of our lamb wrapped in foil to bring home and that is in the fridge. Lunch tomorrow.
Ann you must have twisted really badly to get I. Your car that time and pulled a couple of muscles. These things take so long to heal as well. It is a beautiful evening here now. And it has stayed dry all day, we still have a window wide open.
Oh Mel. Monday make that an appointment you can’t go on like that.

Ed has a ride on mower but it dos'nt have anything on the back to take a trailer.
I have the most dreadful indigestion again. I had bran flakes with suntans then a bacon granary bap, roll thing for lunch. Then I as thirsty so had a coffee and now I feel awful. Why do these things always happen at the weekend or on a bank holiday?
Can't remember what I said in the post I lost.
That sounded a good filling meal Anng but I like Vera would'nt want the sticky toffee pud either as I don't like it. Oh used to love it.
All I have managed to do is wash lots and lots of pots today.
I have suddenly got spell check on here and its driving me barmy as it dos'nt like dos'nt or Anng or hav'nt and some other words too. I don't like all these red worms on my pages of typing. Vera hope you have a better night tonight and that Annx back is a bit better tomorrow. you don't realise just how many muscles you use when walking or even moving your head. it sounds like a nasty sprain.
Iv'e felt cold today its 17 degrees now..

Afternoon All,
Mostly sunny here earlier and pleasantly warm but not hot. Now it's overcast but not muggy. I winced my way out of bed again this morning despite having slept well and tottered carefully about again this morning and like yesterday, but slightly better, it has improved this afternoon so I may be on the mend as long as I'm careful. I sat on a higher chair at lunchtime, so getting up didn't agravate things and OH was good and got us tuna jackets with salad and brought back cooked boiled eggs to go with it from the shop when he popped out. He also bought us ready made sandwiches for tea too.
Yes Vera these back and knee troubles are very frustrating, but at least the sitting indoor many tasks are getting some attention and I am shutting my eyes to what's outside, although we feel ashamed of all our weeds! We hoped to fill the garden bin for collection on Tuesday, but we'll have to miss it this time. I was looking forward to going to an art exhibition a local group was putting on at a church about 15 miles away this weekend, but daren't try getting in my car yet and even if OH took me, which he would, I couldn't really walk around much.
The car windscreen saga continues Vera as OH got a phone call this morning to say the windscreen had arrived, but was damaged, so they couldn't do it today and need to order another and will let him know and arrange another time to fit it once they have it! Yes I'm resting more now.....no choice really! It doesn't seem to be the hip joints so I think I must have pulled the muscles badly
It sounds like you are having a nice time and some nice meals AnnG. The poached eggs yesterday and lamb shanks are right up my street! lol. I would have liked seeing the young bunnies playing. We used to watch them in Cornwall where we stayed. Enjoy today's lunch. :-)
Yes I'm taking it easy for a day or two as you and Vera say Mandy. So you have a golden wedding anniversary to enjoy on Friday! I expect the family will be bringing you some nice things. :-) It's good that you can do some sewing to help the family in return for their help as they must be so busy with their jobs and the family.
Mel that was a good opportunity to help Em by lending the tractor and trailer. Those logs from cutting trees down are heavy so they would be a help in moving them.

That was a filling lunch AnnG. I like most of it, except the pudding, but I would have been struggling to get through it.
Oh dear Mel, another lost post. It must be frustrating for you. I wish we could help you. I know from experience that if you type a post straight into Genes it’s very easy to lose it which is why I normally type it as a document first, save it as I go along, and then copy and paste it into the Genes box.
Yesterday wasn’t a good day. Friday night I only slept from about 12.30 to 3.30 am, got up at 5 and made tea and read till 7 am. I was very heavy headed and I knew the car park in town would be packed as the weather was good and it was market day so I decided to get the bus. There was a bus at a convenient time and it only takes a few minutes to the bus station. By now the sun was blazing down and the bus station is one side of the town and the surgery is the other so I had a good few minutes walk in the heat. It was the same on the way back and I had a 20 minute wait for the bus home. I managed to find a bit of shade while waiting.
When I got back OH had vacced upstairs so after a snack I whizzed round downstairs. Tesco came at 3 pm with an order for two weeks so I had all that to sort out and put away. All the while the pain in my head was getting worse and worse and I couldn’t see properly and felt sick. When I put the butter in a drawer and the oven gloves in the fridge I knew it was time to give up and go to bed. I kept waking but went back to sleep quickly so slept on and off from 5 pm yesterday till 7 am today.
As to my visit to the surgery - I saw a lovely young paramedic. I was expecting her to look at my feet and probably dish out some water tablets but she was a lot more thorough than that. We talked about my general health and I told her how I am struggling with sleeping and how tired and headachy I get and it all went down in my notes. She tested my oxygen levels and my bp and said both were perfect so that pleased me. Then she examined my feet and said that the swelling is fluid but she’d like to know what’s causing it, so I have to go back to that surgery in 2 weeks for blood tests. She has asked for all the general checks plus some heart checks. In the meantime, if I have any breathlessness, or a cough, or redness in my legs I have to contact them straightaway.
Now I’ve been a moaning Minnie again and told you all my woes, when you all have your own problems to deal with. Life really isn’t that bad, there’s lots of good things happening so I will finish by sending you all a big smile :-D :-D

Goodness that was a large lunch. I won’t want much else today. Daughter and I both had roast lamb shank which was lovely with roast potatoes, broccoli and cauli and Yorkshire and a selection of cubes of roasted carrots, parsnip, swede etc.we didn’t eat too much of the broccoli and cauli as it had a cheese and garlic sauce on it and the garlic was too strong.(we both like garlic) SiL had haddock and chips which looked good. Then daughter and I shared a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was delicious.

Good afternoon ladies
It’s still only 11.30 but I’ve put good afternoon as I keep getting distracted so I suspect it will be afternoon by the time this gets posted. It’s much cooler today and with a pleasant breeze. We’ve got doors and windows open and it’s the first time the house has been cook for several days. (Cook should read cool of course but iPad won’t l et me change it!)
Mandy, those roses are beautiful. I can almost smell the fragrance from here. Our garden is a mess this year so I envy you your lovely roses. 50 years married - that’s an achievement. Are you planning to do anything on the day?
I googled the place you are staying AnnG and it looks lovely. Enjoy your Sunday lunch.
Mel, it’s good you were able to help Em out with the loan of your tractor trailer. That would have made moving everything much easier for them. Are your feet still as swollen now it’s a little bit cooler?
Oh Annx, your poor sides and legs do sound painful. Take it very easy for a few days. I know how frustrating it is when you can see all the things you want to be doing but you will have to close your eyes and ignore them. I hope OH’s windscreen will be fixed this time. The company have messed him around a bit. It’s good that there is a handy pub where OH can wait while it is being fixed.
Organisers of church events are always grateful for volunteers Gwyn so I’m sure they were glad of your help at the concert/lunch. There often used to be lunchtime and evening concerts in a redundant church in the centre of town but then it was closed for a couple of years for renovation and modernisation. It then reopened as an Arts Centre. It sounded great but it has become ultra modern and “woke”. We did go to something one evening and we didn’t even realise it had started till it had been going for about 20 minutes.
I must go and sort out our Sunday dinner so I think I’ll post this bit and come back later to tell you of my day yesterday.

An easy day today. Just sitting at the moment reading and looking out to the lake. We are going for Sunday lunch to the pub five minutes away hoping it is as good as usual. We have black clouds here so looks like we could get rain. We need to take the car even though it is close, it is downhill going so quite a steep walk coming back. Daughter has hip trouble and my leg is not good today.
50 years Mandy are you having a celebration?
That was a help for Em Mel in return for all she does for you.

Morning all,
Nice bright sunny morning here ,there is a little cloud but it still feels quite warm in the sun ,they did say today would be cooler but I didn't think so when I hung the washing out . We're having a lazy day ,I'm doing jacket plates with tuna and salad so that's an easy meal . Son ,dil ,Jake and Lewis popped in last night ,son sorted out the Internet banking as for some reason it wanted me to put in some high numbers and my numbers only go up to nine, anyway he sorted that out and he ordered us a new water filter jug too. I had made them some Malteser ice cream so they took that home. I have a bit of sewing to do ,dil had the hem come undone on a pair of trousers and one of the blankets I made had a seam that needs stitching so I'll get those done today .son can take them on Friday as he's popping in as it will be our wedding anniversary, 50 years :-0
Ann hope your side and back are easing a little ,it can take a few days to get better as any movement seems to set it back .
Anng how nice to see the little bunnies playing ,not so bad if you get the rain overnight ,just don't want it in the day as well, enjoy your day today what ever your doing .
Mel that was nice to help a neighbour out as they do a few odd jobs for you at times ,it must have made it a lot easier for them to get the logs moved .
Gwyn hope the buffet lunch went OK and you managed to enjoy a little of the concert too .

Morning lovely ladies,
16 degrees here so a lot cooler and the sky is a bit grey white and patches of blue.
BIL turned up yesterday he did'nt mow but walked down to me and asked if it would be ok for him to lend Em and Ed the tractor and big trailer as they had had a tree cut down and were trying to stow the logs dragging a big fertilizer sack. I had heard the chain saw going and Em told me they were having a tree down and her dad next door was having two down which they did a couple of weeks ago, £3,000. Of course I said yes. They found it much easier and got in done quite quickly.
Sounds like you had a nice day travelling to the new place with nice stops along the way. Did SIL enjoy his Rugby final?
