Afternoon All,

A good sleep again and the sun is shining now.

Congratulations on the new baby arriving safely AnnG. You can all relax now both are ok. I see she has a celtic name which I have not heard before. She looks cute and has some hair I see. Yes I expect I will be wanting to see her.

OH has filled the rest of the garden bin for tomorrow's collection, so the courgette plant has gone plus a broken branch from the Choisya and dying Rhubarb leaves.

I have asked for refunds on all the subs on my order I didn't want and they have already refunded me, so that was good service with no quibbles! :-D No need to return anything either. Mel, we can't hand things back as the driver is already driving up the close by the time we open the front door. The sugar free sweets they do are Asda Sugar Free Butterscotch Drops, also their Sugar Free Fruit Drops and there are Werther's Original Butter Candy Sugar Free Sweets. I haven't tried them before, but like the M&S ones I've had in the past so thought I would try them.

Yes thank goodness, it was getting a bit worrying Granddaughter in law id tired of course but fine. baby looks gorgeous with those chubby cheeks. I bet it won't be long before they are home. 8 pounds 7 ounces I am not sure if that is bigger than I or not but it is a good weight considering she was not due until next weekend

I think washing is a magnet to washing for as soon as I put it on the line the clouds came over but the sun is out again now so hopefully it will dry as its quite heavy stuff.

Morning Anng and Vera and all others,

Any news on that baby yet Anng?

We have a sunny morning for a change and its 13 degrees at the moment.

The only thing I have planed for today is do the ironing and feed the chickens then I may have a play if there's nothing else I find to do. I could cl;ean the bedroom windows as they need doing and run the hoover around.

Morning AnnG and all

Dull and 10 degrees here. It was quite a warm night and I didn’kt sleep well. I suppose it’s too much to hope for two good nights in a row.

Tesco seem to be up and running again now AnnG. I haven’t got another delivery booked but perhaps I ought to get the next couple in. I usually alternate Tesco and Sainsbury’s and have a delivery every couple of weeks and it’s Sainsbury’s turn next.

Not sure what I will be doing today.

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2021 07:25

Good morning all, still dark so can't tell what the weather is like 10 degrees though so not cold. Looks like there is plenty of dark cloud.

Island, yes I am keeping my fingers crossed that they get that sorted at Tesco My next order is next Saturday so hope it is sorted before then. and they said they have deleted all orders with less than three items on so that could be my next two orders deleted as they only have a couple of orders on when I first book them. I will try and look later.

No plans for this morning but I have a friend coming this afternoon.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Oct 2021 22:52

Island do you have your shopping delivered?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Oct 2021 22:14

Gosh that was a lot of subs Ann. I can never unstand how they can sub something with something so different. I did'nt even know they did Almond Butter. Did you sned the tins back? I would have done and quite often do if its something I don't want or don't like. What sugar free sweets do you buy?

Island

Island Report 24 Oct 2021 20:36

evening all

Lovely to get a catch up from Gill. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel. I think builders have just been inundated with work but it's not ok to ignore calls. How many other trades can do that and not go out of business? See women doing that?

Good to hear from Frank but not good to hear he's had another fall. At least he has a caring family and friends only a phone call away.

That's a lot of subs Annx! Seems to me the picker was bored or half asleep. You've got some odd subs there! Mind you, a lot of Tesco shoppers haven't even got subs this weekend! :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Oct 2021 19:52

It always gets me when things are subbed or out of stock when they were there the night before. I think sometimes the pickers don‘T bother to look properly.

Annx Report 24 Oct 2021 18:11

Thanks for the news on Frank Mel. I was worried he might have had another fall, but at least he is mostly just badly bruised. I hope they soon fade and that he feels better. Good news about Lewis and I'm not surprised he is doing well. He always had a good attitude to work and gets on well with people. Good Luck to him!

Yes. we do miss our Jane don't we. She was a lively one and always upbeat and trying to help if she could. The family must miss her dreadfully as she seemed to be the driving force that got things organised.

I expect Katie will be telling you all about her trip when she gets back Mandy, bless her. :-) It's lovely how the children enjoy their stays with you.

Mel I think the different sorts of Michaelmas daisies must flower at different times. Mine are still looking great as are the French Marigolds. Your Nerines look really lovely don't they and too delicate looking for this time of the year. I love your toadstools which look very realistic.

Well I am hopping mad with Asda! We had 11 subs today, yet everything on my order was in stock last night and only 1 was out of stock today after they'd delivered. I hadn't thought I needed to say 'no subs' on anything as it was all in stock. We got Ox cheek instead of the lamb shoulder and I hate beef and they sent almond butter instead of peanut butter. ( wait for it.........they stock 27 different makes/varieties of peanut butter so why not send one of those??). They sent sugary sweets instead of sugar free sweets and loaf tins instead of the nice square tins I wanted that will fit nicely into my oven. I'd already ordered mixed cauli and broc, so they sent me more instead of a mixed veg pack, sausages instead of stuffing balls and instead of the special 6 bacon slices they sent 16 slices!! Four own brand pasties instead of the 2 ginster ones OH likes. Still, at least we have a Turkey and some gammon, pigs in blankets and sausage rolls so I don't have to wonder if we will get those now and who knows, things could be worse nearer christmas. :-(

No nothing yet Vera seems like it is going to take a while just very minor contractions so far.

Mel I like your toadstools, very pretty and the Nerines are lovely.

Good to hear from Frank must be a few weeks now since we last heard. Good to hear Lewis is doing well working. Sorry to hear he had another fall though hope the bruises soon heal.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 24 Oct 2021 16:06

I slept better last night so feel a bit more cheerful today. It’s been a lovely sunny day here, though a bit breezy, and I needed a jacket outside.

Good to see you Gill. You don’t seem to have much luck with tradespeople. I’d be tearing my hair out by now but you seem to be taking it in your stride and getting on as best you can. Good for you. I can’t believe you were scraping the ceiling in the early hours. Do you sleep during the day when OH is asleep? It sounds as though Sandra is coping very well and you are right to be proud of her.

Have you heard anything about the new baby yet AnnG? it must seem a long wait. Like you I’ve always got sanitiser in my bag but all the shops round here, large and small, have sanitiser at the entrance and cafes often have a small bottle on each table. I’ve just started easing up on the wiping down as well. I’ve always done everything but the last couple of times I’ve just wiped things I am going to use in the next couple of days.

Your Christmas trees will look pretty Ann. I’m not sure what we will do this year. We always have a real tree and I see they are already on sale in the garden centre. OH usually buys ours early in December but it stays outside until a few days before Christmas. I wonder what the situation will be by Christmas. It’s always been a big family occasion for us with our parents when they were alive, children and grandchildren and usually brothers and sisters. Last year was strange with my brother so ill and just driving to our daughter for Xmas dinner with her and one grandchild, then driving home again. I’m hoping for something better this year.

I decided not to do a roast as usual today but got a beef casserole in the oven and then spent a couple of hours in the garden. I cleared and washed out a couple of troughs, then went to find the daffs to pot up and came across a dozen allium bulbs. I can’t even remember wrapping and storing them, it must have been a couple of years ago at least. I think OH probably dug them out at some time and I “rescued” them. So they are now planted in a trough. They can stay round the side of the house and give me a bit of colour by the back door.

Good to hear from Frank but sorry that he’s had another fall. If you’re looking in Frank, get better soon.

Enjoy what’s left of the weekend and sleep well tonight.
