Morning everyone

Our weather seems similar to yours today Mel. It is supposed to be sunny tomorrow. I still expect it to be warm and have to keep reminding myself that we are at the end of October.

I hope Ann's pain has eased and she had a restful night. I've looked on here on and off since about 6 am to see if there is any news.

Enjoy your garden centre trip AnnG.

I am out for lunch today. We had a group of about 12 ladies who celebrated each other's birthdays. One has sadly died and one now has dementia and won't go out so the group has shrunk a bit and while Covid has been around we have met in small groups outside but today 6 of us are meeting at a pub for lunch. The owners have said we will have our table well away from anyone else and I think we are all triple jabbed. The birthday girl desperately needs a little break as she has had a number of health issues herself over the past year or so and she is also a full-time carer for her OH. My handbag contains sanitiser, disposable gloves, tissues, wipes and 3 different masks. I think I am going prepared lol.

Must go and get ready now. Might be back later.

Morning Anng and all,

Dull and dreary 15 degrees and windy.

I too hope Ann had some sleep last night and the pain has eased off and she was more comfortable.

I think its a HW day today as with it being so miserable out there I sha'nt be out long feeding the chickens.

I had a dreadful dream last night and was woken gently by oh. I was screaming out. I was in a double garage right at the back corner after loosing my gtrandads Wolsley which I had parked in the car park earlier and it was'nt there when I came back to collect it. A man was coming towards me as I crouched in the corner and I screamed and kicked out at him. That must have been when I screamed out but oh spoke softly to me and gave me a cuddle. Could'nt go back to sleep for quite a long time.

Good morning all Gosh we'll have a heatwave soon. It is 14 degrees out there. Looks dry but still dark so can't really tell.

do hope that Annx is feeling better this morning, that she slept ok and the pain has eased. Might be as well to get checked out by GP if you can get an appointment though Ann.

Going out with Cynth today is the plan, I think I said, Evesham Garden centre.

Oh dear Ann that sounds horrid and frightening too, I hope the pain continues to ease off it does sound as if you might have twisted awkwardly, maybe trapped a nerve. I hope you i,prove and don’t need to go to A&E.

Mandy I can just imagine Max trying to follow them both at once.

Mel the fleece will be very handy fir when colder weather comes.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 26 Oct 2021 19:49

Evening all

Oh my goodness Ann I hope the pain eases for you and its nothing serious but if it doesn't you get yourself off to A&E the sooner you can sort the pain out the better .
I'm sure any covid patients won't be in the A&E I think most hospitals have a separate part of the hospital for anyone with symptoms your not mixed in with them ,if you do go in take your sanitiser so you can keep doing your hands .
We'll be thinking about you <3

Oh Anng thats a lovely photo of Inara with her sister and how quickly they get out and about with babies these days.

Mel its nice to treat yourself some times the fleece will be nice for the cooler weather.

Vera how do you manage to have a busy day doing all those jobs after bad nights of not much sleep ,I would be so irritable I know I would .
Max is sound asleep after having the girls here for two days he will be sleeping for the next couple of days :-D they do tire him out but he does so love them coming and follows them everywhere if one girl goes out the door he doesn't quite know which way to go he looks for one then the other and then back to the other its quite funny to
watch .

Shopping day tomorrow so I'd better get my list done .

O Ann how horrid. You might have pulled a muscle twisting. I hope the pain eases off and you don't have to go to A & E as I know you don't like going near hospitals at this time. Also sending a very gentle (( hug )).

Roast veg tonight with some chicken pieces cooked with lemon.

What an afternoon! When we do the crosswords at lunchtime OH tends to cover the puzzle with his hand as he writes the answers in. Sometimes my back plays up with leaning and screwing my neck around. Well today I was okay till I went and sat in the study, then this awful nagging pain started not only in the usual place in the muscle over my hip at the back, but also even worse across the front right side of my abdomen. After an hour and a half it was no better, so I was thinking it might be appendicitis and rang the doc. No appointments and no-one could see me and ring tomorrow was the answer. I then rang 111 and they said they would ring back within half an hour. Forty minutes later a nurse rang back and took details. No appointments at drop in centres were available so she suggested A&E in the city, which is the last place I wanted to go. By then things were more tolerable and the pain was more focused over the pelvic bone, so I am waiting if I can and will ring the surgery in the morning. If it gets worse again in the meantime OH will run me down to A&E. I can walk fine so I don't think it is the hip. Looks like a miserable night ahead. OH did his meeting on zoom so he could stay with me. Anyway, if you don't hear from me for a while you will know why.

Glad you like the photos I promise not to swamp you with then
M but I wanted you to see the smile on Inara’s face. Apparently she is being really helpful, looking after baby checking she is ok, has her dummy etc. I can’t believe that baby is only a day old she looks older to me. She is bottle fed as Inara was mum just did not get on with breast feeding.

Vera now we are all excitedly waiting for your stories.

You have been busy. I have cleared all my hostas now the leaves anyway. Not too much to do out there now although I have noticed I could do with going right round the garden weeding it. I keep hoping it is time for weeds to stop growing. And I am sure the lawn is still growing.

SuffolkVera Report 26 Oct 2021 16:43

Lovely photos AnnG. Inara looks a very happy big sister and hasn’t she grown up? Times have certainly changed. New mums are up and about in no time now. I see you’ve been busy in the garden again.

That’s good you got refunds for your unwanted subs Ann. Tesco and Sainsbury’s are both quick with refunds but Sainsbury’s sometimes send an online voucher which is a bit naughty as it ties you in to shopping with them. Your dwarf Michaelmas daisies sound pretty. I hope they stay dwarf, lol.

I expect the grandchildren are enjoying spending some time with you over half term Mandy. How’s Max these days? It’s a while since you mentioned him.

I feel exhausted at the moment. I’ve had a couple of really busy days and slept very little last night. Yesterday I changed the bedding on two king size beds, including changing thin duvets for medium weight ones, did four loads of washing, planted up all the rest of my bulbs and cooked a big evening meal. Today I’ve washed all the towels and tumble dried them, thoroughly cleaned the filters on the drier, done the ironing and spent some time in the garden. I’ve cleared a lot of the dead foliage from hostas and clumps of day lilies and dead headed scabious and argyranthemum plants, which are still throwing blooms.

I’ve also submitted my passport application. That was fun! The powers that be didn’t like the photo as they said there wasn’t enough distinction between the background and me. Well, they insist on a plain light background. I can’t do much about the fact that my hair is pale grey. The photographer had put it through the checking system and it was approved, and anyway it’s clearer than the one in the passport I’ve been using for the last 10 years. I had to say if I wanted to submit the photo anyway or get a new one done. I pressed Submit Anyway and got a box where I had to write my reasons for saying this. Eventually the form was submitted and I have posted my expired passport to them so I wait to see how long it will take for my new passport to arrive.

I’ll save the tales of our struggle to close a bank account and my problems with Amazon for another time. I don’t want to give you too much excitement all at once ;-)

I forgot to mention I had about 7 things that I did'nt order. I sent them all back and then the driver said they should have been for someone in Torrington who was short on her order and he had refunded he for them. He said he would drop them back to her. It was 2 nescafe latte (sp) three different types of crisps some sweets and a pack of biscuits I did'nt like anyway. Oh only drinks black coffee and we don't like monster munch or the other crisps and I bet the other lady was not pleased to get her coffee as the children here are on half term this week and they will want their crisps. I hope he does take them back to her, he's a good boy is Carl.

Just bought myself a new cardi last week but I am not really happy with the colour but it will do. Now I have found a nice wooley fleece in Cotton Traders with a zip up neck and pockets so I think I shall treat myself to that too.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 26 Oct 2021 15:01

I have sent out a few more photos with Inara, one she is proudly pushing the pram.

I spent about 45 minutes in the garden, It was dull and a bit windy but 16 degrees. I cut down then dug up the dead gooseberry, tied in a new bit of the clematis that was dying and put in a cup hook to support part of the plastic netting that had come away from the fence.. I then cut down all the remainder of the Michaelmas daisies, cut back the Japanese anemone and cut a few high branches of another rose. started on the phlox but my back was aching so quickly trimmed a bit of the large hardy fuchsias and came indoors. Anyway a bit more done so that is progress.
Hopefully going to the garden centre at Evesham tomorrow with Cynth.

Annx Report 26 Oct 2021 14:51

Afternoon All,

What a dull day it is. Slept well though and we were up early to shower and then I went to the hairdresser for my skin patch test before my appointment for lowlights on Thursday. OH took me so I wouldn't have to walk far as the hairdresser is in the same building as the gym and the carpark gets full quickly. I was surprised to see the door open at the hairdressers and no masks although I still put mine on. I shall still wear mine on Thursday as well as I don't get my booster till Friday. I read this morning that the Pfizer jab is only 47% effective after just 5 months, so just another 2 weeks or so after the booster to be back to 95% again.

Afterwards we called round the village garden centre with the intention of not stopping if it was busy but there was no-one else in the carpark. Luckily our half term was last week. The outdoor plants are straight off the carpark and I found some lilac coloured dwarf Michaelmas Daisies. (supposedly dwarf, but like Mel said, often they can be forced and then get big!) I got one anyway to try. On the way back it was drizzling with rain but it has stopped again now.

Hubby is off to a school meeting later so I can hopefully finish my latest painting while he is out.

Not too many subs then Mel and at least we are quicker wiping down now. I need to do lots of HW and washing, but I'll make a start tomorrow. :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Oct 2021 13:29

Done the wipe down and now I am getting lunch. Nice bacon sandwiches with the new bread.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Oct 2021 09:28

Morning Anng and all,

Dull and cloudy here this monring and 13 degrees.

Weekly wipe down today and yes I still do it. You just can't be too careful.

I would love to go and have a look around the shops but I will just stick to Amazon instead as it must be safer.

Better get the kitchen wip[ed down ready for when the shopping arrives. I have subs today Warburtons wholemeal instead of Hovis passion fruit jaffa cakes instead of orange ones and Asda burgers instead of the Aberdeen Angus ones which we both really like. Not too bad really and I have the A A ones in the freezer so are ok for the week. We have them on a Saturday as they are easy to do if I have been doing the garden or stuff.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 26 Oct 2021 07:39

Good morning on another very dark morning 10 degrees but no idea what the weather is doing. I had thought about going in to Cheltenham today for a look round after more than 18 months but then I remembered it is half term so probably best to leave it until next week. If it is dry I do have things to do in the garden, and I can always wrap Christmas presents.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2021 21:50

Good you got refunds anyway especially as you don’t have to return the stuff.

I like wurthers sugar free when I can get them. I also like some I get in a garden centre that are like small bulls eyes but I am not keen on Diablo sugar free cappuccino and cream sweerpts
