Evening All,
I slept quite well but woke at 5.30am with some of the pain plus a headache! I think the pain was due to me moving to a different position in my sleep, as it calmed down after a bit once I moved and has hardly bothered me at all today, so fingers crossed hopefully it is a deep muscle strain that will heal again. I had a glass of water as I hadn't drunk much yesterday and the headache went.
Breezy here today too, but warm enough for me to not need a coat at the hairdresser's. I was there 2 hours today to have a cut and colour and there was only 1 other customer there for a short while and we were all in masks. Tomorrow I have my booster which will be good to get done. It isn't till the afternoon so I hope there is no queue with them still doing the first and second jabs as well. OH had to queue for one of his afternoon ones.
I meant to say that it must have been funny seeing Max trying to decide who his loyalties lay with the most!
Yes I saw floods on the roads in Glasgow on tv last night. I have more washing to do but not till it appears more settled again. Same with your chickens Mel. They will have to hang on till the wind drops!
I think the 2021 Census on FMP is available from 6th January. It was mentioned on a morning programme yesterday. That will be good to see where our rellies were then! :-)
I see the Bank saga is ongoing Vera, although hopefully it is nearing the end! It has occurred to me that having a savings account with the same bank as my current account is with (I did the same at my old bank) may not be a good idea and I may have it elsewhere like yours. I use it to keep just enough in my current account and transfer between the accounts. I thought I was protecting what could be stolen if someone managed to access my current account. However, if someone can access your current account online, there is nothing to stop them accessing your other accounts with the same bank is there and transferring money? It seems daft really as most banks expect you to have a current account with them before they all you to have a saver account. It's something I must check with my new bank. :-S
That was nice you had some company to chat to today AnnG, but a shame your companion for tomorrow's trip has a cold. Best to be safe though and sure it's just a cold. It would have been a good day to use your camera too. I have been there a couple of times in the past.

Evening all,
Looks like we were the lucky ones today getting lots of nice sunshine and it's been 17 degrees .
Oh Vera what a todo with the bank its a good job your not desperate for the money ,son keeps saying to us oh you should have Internet banking it's so easy but we just say no we'll keep as we are.
Anng there seems to be lots of people about with colds several people we know have had a cold, at least you weren't in her company as she was coming down with it . We were looking at all the flooding on the news and I thought of your daughter and wondered if it was where she lives so that good she's OK.
We are having Lewis and Lacey tomorrow for the day we thought we would have F&C tomorrow they both love fish and share a portion of chips between them.

Can’t send you any sun AnnG as it’s upped and left. It’s very grey outside now and, although it doesn’t seem to be raining, the paths are looking wet. I’ve just checked the forecast again and apparently we have wall to wall sunshine all day. They got that wrong again!

Morning Anng Vera and all,
I think we have about the same as Anng this morning but we are 1 degree higher in temp. Its soooooooooo very dull and sort of yellowy out there and the wind seems just as strong as it was last night. I thought it may have dropped a bit today so I could clean the chickens out but it has'nt so I won't.
Sending love to Frank and hope the bruises are healing now. I know just how long it takes after the fall I had on the decking, its weeks. <3

13 degrees here and a bit windy but it’s nice and sunny. I’ve got a king size duvet cover in the wash as it looks good weather to dry it on the line. Not sure what I’ll be doing today but it might be h/w.

I wonder why technology has ended up being anything but convenient to the customers. What a frustrating time you are having. Oh for the days of rows of banks in towns where they were easily accessible. And when you needed help you walked in and there were rows of friendly cashiers waiting to help you.
I am pleased that you enjoyed your afternoon Vera, it sounds like fun.

AnnG's not the only way who is confused by your last message Mel :-S Was it part of a longer post that's somehow got lost? That was a nasty dream you had.
I am pleased you are feeling a little better today Ann. You must take it easy for a few days. If the pain worsens again do go to A&E. As Mandy said you will be well looked after and Covid patients and other patients are kept well away from each other. I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.
Mandy, I had a smile at Max not knowing which girl to follow as that was just how our old Tess was if OH and I didn't go in the same direction. You asked how I keep going after a bad night. I find that I am terrible for the first hour or so after I get up. I'm grumpy and feel a bit nauseous and headachey but once I make myself do something, even if it's just having a shower, I seem to perk up. I'm then usually OK till after we've had our evening meal when I start feeling a bit rough again. I'm yawning away now.
It sounds as though you had a good day out AnnG. It's good to get out while you can as in a couple of months it could be too cold and icy to want to go far. I've had a nice day as well. The weather was lovely although it was a bit windy outside. There was a carvery and a separate menu. I was tempted by the carvery but in the end I went for fisherman's pie from the main menu. Then it was back to one of the girl's houses for tea and cake and lots of chatting and laughter. It did get very noisy. You'd have thought we were a lot of giggling schoolgirls instead of a group of women in their 70s and 80s. I came home with quite a headache.
I mentioned the other day that we were having trouble closing a bank account. Well.........many years ago we set up a savings account with one of the banks and it was specifically a telephone account. We could switch money from this savings account to our current account with a different bank and back the other way with one simple telephone call. It worked well for years and years. Then the system started changing and kept changing bit by bit till it no longer operated in any way that was useful to us. So we decided to close this account and set up a different type of savings account with the bank where we had our current account. As you might remember I've had endless problems getting the DWP to stop paying my pension into the account we want to close but at last that got sorted and OH went online to sort out the closure. It took ages to even find out how to do it but eventually he got the procedure started. However, every time he got to a certain point the website wouldn't allow him to proceed any further. Have you dropped off to sleep yet?
He was getting more and more frustrated and angry but when he had calmed down a little he phoned the bank again. After going through all the automated system he eventually got to speak to a woman who told him he had to close the account online. He explained the website didn't allow him to do so. She obviously thought he was some poor old boy who couldn't cope with the technology and metaphorically patted him on the head and said she would talk him through it. Credit where it's due, she tried. Then she tried again. Then she gave up as well. OH asked her to just put a form in the post to him and we would fill it in with pen and ink and send it back by post. No, she couldn't send out a form from her department but she would email the department that could do this and ask them to post us one.
Several days later with no form appearing in the mail OH rang again. This time he got a more helpful young man who talked him through to finding the form online. Once OH had got that far he could download and print it off. There are two pages to the form. We filled in the first and then looked at the second page. This has to be filled in by your branch and they have to have checked identity etc. BUT it was a telephone account; we have never been in a branch. They closed our two local ones anyway and the nearest is now a good hour's drive away and impossible to get to by public transport. So, we are going to post the form back with a letter explaining this and seeing what happens next. I am not a happy bunny as there is quite a bit of money in this account and we have been unable to access it since June.
Right, now I have bored you all rigid with that I'll say goodnight, sweet dreams

Mel your last message confuses me. what will be a nice present after 6 Jan? Have I missed something?
Ann so pleased that the pain seems to be easing, hope that continues and that with rest you will be back to normal (or what passes as normal).
We had a good day out with a visit to the shopping centre as well as the garden centre - all in the same place, there were quite a few children around but we managed to keep well away from them. Had coffee in the craft shop (Crafters companions) where I also managed to get a couple of bits I wanted. a couple of things in the Works and several things in the garden centre which is a Blue diamond one. We also had a nice lunch ar a table in a corner on its own in the large restaurant. I had jacket potato with prawns and Marie Rose sauce and it was really nice with a small side salad. We went out at 10.30 and came back in at 3.50 so a good day. About a 40 minute drive.

Afternoon All,
Just letting you know that I am ok. After a very painful start to the night, by 3.00am the pain started to ease a little and I managed a little nap. By morning, the pain was mostly at the back just below the waist and in the groin, so I think it is a worse case of the pain I sometimes get anyway. It feels sore now and like after the cramp you get in your leg! I know some muscle pain can be referred pain and go into the abdomen so I am hoping that's what it was. I decided to take it easy today and see how it goes, but any sign of more abdominal pain and things getting worse I shall see the doc.
It quite shocked us yesterday how little help there was from the surgery or 111. A&E will bear the brunt if people can't get help elsewhere, as if the Hospitals haven't got enough to do!
