Morning Anng and all,
Bright sunshine at the mo but only 4 degrees at pressent. The sun is now quite low inthe sky and is throwing rainbows on the bedroom walls from my crystal hanging in the window that Di bought me.
I have some washing to go out today and may put another load in will see how much line space I have after putting the first olot out. It seems days since I did any so the basket was full but with the wind blowing the rain under the lean to outside the back door and no heating on it seemed daft to do any.
Hope Ann had a better night and what she explains with her pain is just how I was a while ago when I could'nt get in bed or out very well without dreadful pain. The one thing that was good in my case was I sleep on my right side and don't move in the night.

Good morning all, no frost this morning as far as I know, not of roofs anyway but it is only one degree out there.
Not doing anything today. Must look around the garden to see if there is anything needing doing, haven't done much this week but I think I have got it more or less ready for winter now.
Mandy hope whatever bug it was has cleared now. I expect, as you were mixing with the children a lot you are bound to catch any bugs they bring home.

That's horrid feeling like that Mandy, but it sounds like you feel ok now. Naughty Max found himself some tasty gravy then! lol. Good job you stopped him shaking it everywhere. :-) I bet your lounge will look lovely tomorrow once you have that nice new carpet down. I love the 'new carpet smell'.
That's a good point Mandy makes about using taxis AnnG. It's what MIL and FIL did once they sold their car. I remember them saying they used the money they saved by not having a car. I think with FIL being in his 90s their insurance had become quite steep anyway.

Oh my goodness it was the funniest thing I had some lovely gravy left from the roast on Sunday so I cut some of the chicken to heat up in the gravy and Colin had that tonight with veg . I went into the kitchen and Max had had a go at the gravy that was left in the dish my fault as I had left it near the edge There was Max covered in gravy all over his head was big blobs of brown gravy you could hardly see his black fur :-D He had flicked gravy all over the cooker top all over the worktop and tiles :-D I said what have you been doing and the look on his face i just had to laugh as he just stood there blinking , no time to get a photo as he then started to shake his head and I had to grab him before he shook it all off .

Afternoon all,
I had a rotten night I woke at two and felt really sick and then took ages to get off with my tummy grumbling away . When I spoke to son this morning he said Katie felt the same and hadn't been to school this week so it's something going about .
Ann sorry you've got the pain again good the bloods were OK maybe the sample will show something ,a pinched nerve is painful oh dear months to heal not what you want to hear hope you have a better night tonight.
Anng its no good keeping the car if you don't feel safe driving and there's always a taxi if you need to go out you'd be saving on tax and insurance so that would cover any taxi fares .
It's been a nice sunny day after a frost but a very slow dry out Tomorrow the new carpet goes down so we have some furniture to move we took up all the old carpet and underlay and Colin cut a big bit of carpet that was under the sofa and a chair it was like new and hadn't been walked on so he put that down in his shed and took up an old bit he had down. We took all the old carprt to the tip yesterday so we have bare boards st the moment the carpet people would have done it but Colin wanted it up so he could check all the floor boards and nail down any loose ones .
Glad you managed to sort your Amazon out Vera I had trouble with the Internet yesterday we wondered if we had moved some wires but son said try turning the router off and back on which I did and then it was OK.again .

Afternoon All,
Sunny here and the PC says 10 degrees and mostly sunny. There are some dark clouds nearer the city though.
I had a bad night after having not much pain all day. I went to sleep quite quickly but woke at 2.30am in pain and went to the toilet and couldn't get back in bed whichever way I tried! After about 20 minutes and with OH helping I managed and very tentatively shuffled into position. The rest of the night was varying pain so I had a lie in. When I got up OH had to put my right sock on for me! I rang the surgery then (which took ages) to see if any results were back. She said a blood result was back and normal, but didn't know if more were to come. I was reading that if it is a pinched nerve, which it sounds like it may be with what happened, it could take a few months to heal. I will see what the doc says on Thursday though. We decided to do the school trip tomorrow hopefully.
I've just swapped my paints ready for tomorrow, but as the teacher talks through what we send him and then makes suggestions about this week's paintings I find it best to paint after the lesson. Most of the others make a start and some nearly finish though. I can't see the point till he finishes going through the photos we will be using.
Someone came next door to collect the Westie next door this morning. We know because she came to us in error. The neighbours left soon after, dressed very smartly, so we think they may be away for a while. They don't put her in kennels, she stays in someone's home. Then a big van pulled up and delivered furniture to Mrs O.
My dad would have been 101 today and it reminded me of my old neighbour who recently passed away at 103.
2 subs is not bad Mel. We can't track our Asda drivers, so never know how far behind or ahead they are. Good to get what you may need soon wiped and put away.
We got a wash done and there's more to do later to peg out tomorrow. AnnG I still have 6 geraniums to dig up and put in the greenhouse. So the car isn't too bad after all which is good.

The car was dry when I looked at it yesterday.. I have polished it over with Tcut and it is not bad at all just the very lowest part of the bodywork where it caught the wheel of the other car. and a couple of the scratches are from 6 months ago when I got too close to a large plant pot on the drive which I had moved and forgotten. so that is one job done, also swept up leaves from the tree over the road and took up four bedding geraniums which were in troughs out the front and replaced with violas. washing done and dried and bed re-made so card making and present wrapping this afternoon.
Temp up to 11 now but it is nippy out there. Also sorted out some cardboard boxes in the garage which needed breaking up.

Morning Anng and all,
Some sun htis morning but clouds too and its 8 degrees here today and I am hoping it will warm up a bit.
Shopping delivery today and I have two subs so not too bad and I think they could both go back. He's only 7 stops away so I better get myself into gear.
Slept well and awoke to sunshine which is always a pleadsure.
Anng sometimes scratches don't look so bad when the cars wet so I hope when you take a look it not as bad as you thought.

Good morning all, 3 degrees out there and frost on the roof tops this morning. Slept for 6 hours last night before laying from 0515 drowsing until 0630 when I put the light om and read for a bit. Washing in the washing machine so an early start today. Not that I am going anywhere. garden bin day so that will be empty. One or two things to be finished out there if it warms up a bit and maybe look at the car scratches, although it is frosted at the moment. Present wrapping maybe, still plenty of that to be done. and being past the end of the month, the monthly bank check to do too.
Ann, yes, Tesco are quite good with subs, I wonder why Asda are not so good@ Maybe they don't carry as much stick.
Vera It would be interesting to know how the German confusion came about wouldn't it?

Well the first of this class was mostly talking about equipment so not so interesting yet. The tutor wants us to give feedback on every lesson so thank goodness there are only 6 lessons. Non of the other tutors have asked us to do that. There was a noisy child with one lady and she hadn't bothered to mute her sound so it was hard to hear the tutor at times. Maybe I'm just a grump today! Next week may be better.
You are making me wish I'd done some washing today Vera. I listened to OH and he said it would rain today and tomorrow and be fine on Wednesday and Thursday.
That was a strange Amazon problem you had but good it is sorted now and that you have managed to buy a kindle book ok. OH bought himself 2 books on Amazon today that he will charge to me for Christmas. I haven't asked him what the titles are yet.
That's the trouble as we get older isn't it. People who would help us get older too. Tesco are good about subs aren't they! With Asda you can only say subs yes or no! :-S We are popping out in the morning so OH can take those papers back to a school that we didn't manage to do on Friday. I haven't been out to that area since before the pandemic so it will be interesting to see what changes there have been. We can also fill up OH's car when we set off.
OH loves sausage and mash Mel and would enjoy your version! :-)

It’s been a beautiful day here. It’s breezy and there is a definite autumnal chill in the wind but it’s been sunny all day. I did 3 loads of washing and the lighter stuff is all dry and the heavier stuff will just need finishing off indoors. How can we be at 1st November already? Did I blink and miss summer?
Oh Ann, I am sorry to hear that your pain is back but at least you have seen the doctor and he is doing some checks so hopefully he will be able to pinpoint the cause and put it right very soon. I too laughed at you changing out of your scruffs as it reminded me of the first long lockdown when we were having a quiz on Zoom every week. I always made sure I was wearing a decent top which is silly as it was all family who’ve seen me looking scruffy many a time. I think it was because I could see myself on the screen. I hope you enjoy your course.
I hope you are enjoying your online courses as well Island. You and Ann put me to shame as I had good intentions of finding a course or two that might interest me but never did anything about it.
It sounds as though you have had a good morning AnnG. I’m pleased your car doesn’t seem too bad and I know exactly what you mean about driving. I don’t drive very much at all these days and I stopped driving at night 3 or 4 years ago. Like you I didn’t feel safe and didn’t want to risk being a danger to anyone else. I would give up altogether but if OH had to get to hospital quickly, for instance, I would have to drive him the 20 miles there. It would be either that or a very expensive taxi. We do have good friends to call on in an emergency but they are mostly our age and some won’t be driving much longer themselves.
Have you managed to get through to your surgery yet Mel? You’ll be needing to get your scripts sorted. You don’t want to run out of anything.
I’m waiting for a Sainsbury’s delivery at the moment. There are apparently 4 subs, 2 of which are going straight back, and 2 things missing because I said I didn’t want them subbed. I wish Sainsbury’s allowed you to put a note about substitutions. I have prunes for breakfast every day and one of the missing things are my prunes. I buy tinned ones in juice. With Tesco I can put a note about the subs so I can tell them that they can sub with other prunes in juice but not in syrup, but I can’t do that with Sainsbury’s.
My Amazon problem seems to have resolved itself. For the last couple of months every time I have tried to sign in I got an email in German from Amazon.de, the German site. My German is rusty but I could understand enough to know it was telling me that someone from Suffolk, England was trying to sign in with my password and to confirm or deny that it was me. I was wary about clicking on anything in case I had misunderstood the German, so each time I just closed down and tried again a day or two later. After this happened a few times I was getting a bit fed up as I kept missing out on some good Kindle book deals but I was concerned that these emails were not genuine, so I forwarded one to the phishing department at Amazon.com with a note saying that I was trying to log in to Amazon.co.uk and I would not respond to emails not in English. The upshot was that I got a very long email back IN GERMAN from Amazon.de. It appeared to be genuine and was explaining all their security and privacy rules. The problem was that as I couldn’t sign in I couldn’t get on to the Customer Service section to explain that I appeared to be permanently connected to the German Amazon site. Yesterday I had a brainwave and don’t know why I didn’t think of it before. I used OH’s computer and logged in with his password. Well, they seemed to have changed their security and to log in I had to copy various letters and numbers that I could see in one of these fuzzy boxes. It took me 3 attempts before they were happy enough to let me in. Having got in on OH’s account, I thought I would have one more go at mine and bingo! No German email but a fuzzy box of characters for me to type in. It took two attempts at mine but I got in and bought 1 Kindle book.
Something outside is beeping and I think it is probably Sainsbury’s van backing up so I’d better go.

You are right about the cost of keeping a car MelNot only tax, insurance and MOT but also annual service all mounts up to quite a bit and the car is practically worthless. (if I don't drive it. The only problem will be if I have to get somewhere like the hairdressers and it is raining but look where that got me!!!! I will just have to get wet. I checked the scratches when I went out and it was nowhere near as bad as I thought since it has been rained on and cleaned itself up.
It has been sunny but quite chilly all morning, I am just back from a run to The Range, B&M, M&S home shop and Dunelm (for coffee with Cynth and had quite a good spend.
Ann that Pain, besides being unpleasant and .
Good that Island's absence is likely to be because she is busy then, hope that is the case and hope Frank is OK and Gill is getting things done.depressing is becoming a nuisance so I hope there is a simple solution for it :-) :-)

Afternoon All,
Very windy here, but no rain as yet today. I had an awful night with that pain and couldn't find a way to lie without hurting so only slept about an hour. I got an appointment this morning at the surgery, but had the same problem as Mel. OH started ringing when they opened but it was continuously engaged, but I managed to get through 10 mins later to join a queue of 22 waiting! I saw the nice senior doctor who did our flu jabs and he was very thorough, but couldn't replicate the pain which had simmered down by them. I had blood tests done before I came away and have to hand in a sample and he will ring me on Thursday morning to see what to do next if things are no better.
AnnG it is no good if you aren't going to use the car with not feeling safe. You could have some refresher lessons if you really wanted to keep it, but not if you don't intend to drive. I hate driving with OH next to me. It's as if he is on the alert all the time to point out something he thinks I haven't seen or ask why I am going a different way to what he would and it isn't relaxing at all, so we go most places in his car with him driving! I do drive quite a lot though with going out on my own.
Well, the new painting course starts soon so I have swapped my paints and brushes to watercolour ones ready. This teacher has sent us lots of information on materials, so it might be quite good.
I heard from Island in response to my painting. She is doing some online courses so may be busy painting or sewing.
Yes Has Gill finished that ceiling yet and has she found the workmen she needs?
Better change back out of my scruffs now, well at least the top half! :-D

It would be two more bills you don't have to pay if you got rid of it too, tax and insurance not to mention MOT's and garage repairs so I would think you should get rid of it.
We've had heavy showers this morning and then the sun comes out.
I still can't get through to the surgery on the phone and I have tried ringing 5 times this morning only to be told "your call cannot be answered please try later". Makes me want to spit.
We hav'nt heard from our Island for a day or two hope they are both ok. Sending love <3
Wonder if Gill has that ceiling done yet?

No Mel, I never just go for a little drive and always prefer to walk (which you can do in lockdown).. I am getting rid of it because I DON'T feel safe in it when I go out. And if I don't feel safe then other people aren't. It is paying for all the time that T chose to drive and I didn't argue. I am fairly civilised here with a reasonable bus service and local facilities, if I lved out in the country it would be different.
