I have not seen that news Ann where did you see it?

Annx Report 9 Nov 2021 19:51

Oh dear Mel, a bit of too enthusiastic pruning by your OH! That's another jab done then and not far to go! I fancy your sandwiches. :-). Yes I've done little today to not provoke anything. I looked at the photos for the pictures again and just don't like them at all. I coudn't imagine putting any on the wall so I haven't bothered. (It is optional). I have a feeling not many of the others will have painted any either. I'll send you a couple to show you what I mean.

I see they have found human remains in a garden in Gloucestershire, 20 miles from where the West's lived. What a shock for the owners.

All stabbed and jabbed and home before it got dark so that was good. We only had to go to Black Torrington to the surgery for the flu jab but will have to go to Okehampton for the booster.

Was going to do chicken kievs for dinner but oh mentioned bacon egg and mushroom sandwiches so we're having those.

Glad the pain has eased a bit Ann. How did your painting go?

Oh murdered our budlia a while ago. did some drastic pruning on it this year. Its a white one.

Afternoon all

It's been a very cloudy day with the occasional gleam of sun but it's been quite mild. I think it's about 14 degrees.

I hope young Lacey is OK Mandy and the rest of the family don't go down with anything. The problem of whether siblings and parents should go to school and work is a difficult one. Not spreading the virus and looking after their own health should come first of course but their mental health is important too. The youngsters have missed so much education and "life learning". I know my 15 year old granddaughter, working towards exams that are important to her, gets quite panicky at times in case she has missed too much. I really don't know what the answer is.

I hope the flu jabs went well Mel and you have no after effects. You shouldn't have anything worse than an achey arm and you might not even get that.

I've had quite a busy day. I had my hair cut this morning and did a little shopping while I was in town; nothing very exciting, just a couple of food items and some birthday cards. None of the shops were very busy which is good. When I got home I washed the bedding that I didn't do yesterday and after lunch I spent an hour in the garden. The brown bin is half full again. I spent 10 minutes before I came in hunting everywhere for the secateurs to put away before I found I had already hung them neatly in their place. Doh!

Then I sorted through a couple of drawers in the study. I didn't intend to but I came across some old discs that came with Family Tree magazine years ago and realised that the computers we have now don't seem to have any way of playing them. OH said he was sure that at some time he had bought a disc player that plugs in to a USB port but he had no idea where it was. So I went on a hunt and after turning out 3 drawers I found it :-D

Now I'm wondering whether I've got the energy to do the ironing before I need to cook dinner. I think I'll consider that over a cup of tea.

I hope everyone has a good, pain free night.

AnninGlos Report 9 Nov 2021 16:01

This year it has been cut back to winter height with most of the leaves still intact which is unusual but convenient.

Is your pain better today? Maybe the pills are working.

what is the paining this week I know you said industrial but do you have a photo to copy?

I have just wrapped another load of presents up, just daughters and son in laws to do now.

Afternoon All,

That will be good to get your flu jabs done Mel. It's a little run to where you will get them isn't it? I woke up at 12.30am for a few hours, but not too bad. I lay in this morning to enjoy feeling less achey. OH has decided to go to his meeting this afternoon which is 15 miles away. I might get my paints out as I haven't even started last weeks homework. That's a good feeling when you sit down after getting the food wiped and put away.

I got rid of my Buddleia when I changed to mostly evergreens AnnG. It was incredibly vigorous, always needing cutting back and I got fed up of the mess with all the leaves. I do love the Butterflies they attract though. I have a Leycestria Golden Lanterns that may get the same treatment soon, although being against the back fence with the border sloping towards it, the leaves roll back towards it and not onto the gravel.

Flu jabs this afternoon.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Nov 2021 12:34

cloudy/sun here 13 degrees. I have cut the thicker stems of the two Buddleias down now to the length they will keep for the winter. Washing dried and just about to make the bed.

Mel Fairy Godmother

All wiped down and put away and now I am having a sit down.

Suns just gone in and now its cloudy. 15 degrees.

Good morning all. Strange that for ages I have been waking really early but last night was awake for a long time in the middle of the night and then didn't wake until 0810 and then I felt I was late. Still I have showered and washed my hair and put the bedding in the washing machine so have caught up now.

Hope the rest of the family are OK Mandy and that Lacy is fine and has only mild symptoms.

Morning all,

WE have sunshine and blue sky with thin white clouds and 12 degrees.

Asda driver is 5 stops away so better get ready.

Hope you all had enough sleep last night and that Ann's pain was not so bad.

O Mandy I don't think it should be aloud if a child has corvid to let all the other children in the class go to school and as for your son being able to work in the school and DIL in a Surgery I think is just madness. When Sam's teacher had corvid the whole class had to stay home.

I do hope they will all be ok. Em's sister and eldest daughter had it but no more of the family.eg husband and son and all the workers on the farm who all have their breakfast at the farm.

To be honest, I haven't got a clue what's what with Covid now, there are so many wildly conflicting reports.
What I do know is I don't trust a word that comes out of the mouths of Boris Johnson and his gang - never have and it gets worse.

How come politicians and the royals are seen without masks so much? Camilla was maskless and shaking hands with a film crew recently :-S

Annx Report 8 Nov 2021 19:51

I agree it does seem daft doesn't it Mandy. You just feel it's not the best way to prevent the spread. They are going to need quite a few tests aren't they.

I don't understand what the govt are doing now and I bet some people still go to work elsewhere with covid. Does anyone insist on seeing tests and how would they know it was yours? :-S :-S

OH said it was cold when he went out to the bin.

Annx Report 8 Nov 2021 19:29

The appointment is for the 18th Island and is at the surgery. Thanks for the tip off, I will see what I can find out. I might as wait and see when my scan appointment will be first though.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 8 Nov 2021 18:16

DIL just rang apparently there have been several cases of covid in Lacey class so she tested Lacey and the home test was positive, son got a PCR test from work and its been sent off so now she's home from school ,what I think is madness is that all the rest can all go to school, son can go to work at the school and DIL at the surgery but they all have to keep testing for the next ten days unless her test comes back as negative.

Really cold out there now ,we have the woodburner going and it's lovely and warm .

Island

Island Report 8 Nov 2021 16:52

Annx, I take it the appointment for the 28th is at the surgery? It seems a long wait.

We have a couple of mobile phlebotomists in our area who are highly recommended for those who can't get to the usual venue. Might there be one in your area? They aren't free but most likely quicker.

Annx

Annx Report 8 Nov 2021 16:18

They have disbanded the walk in blood tests for now, due to covid. The appointment I got for the last blood test must have been a cancellation I think.

AnnG the doctor told me that appendicitis can be different in older folk and he also thinks it may still be a severe muscle strain. I have back problems turning on my back from that side due to many injuries in the past from playing Badminton. I sympathise with T and the pain he had.

Vera we did the same with the washing. OH went to peg it out, took one look at the sky and brought it back in to go on the radiators! I think he is getting bored with his own efforts at simple meals ie ready meals and jacket potatoes and little veg. Our Asda drivers have been mostly good till the last few we've had. I hope you get some success with your winter fuel payment! That was very poor.

Mandy you have certainly been busy!! I bet you were ready for a sit down once you finished all that. :-) It is a while again since we heard from Fank. I hope he and Ros are ok.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 8 Nov 2021 14:40

Mandy yes the Lexus had several hiding places. I think I have checked all the ones in the Hyundai, I an sure nothing valuable is stored in there but if there is anything I know I will have it returned.
Gosh you have both been busy and got a lot done.

Yes it is a hard week thinking about how poor T was suffering so much

That is a long time to wait if the doctor thinks it could be appendicitis. I assume he/she means what we used to know a grumbling appendix. Hope they get it sorted because you really do need to know the cause now, it has gone on too long. (I remember T saying that when he had appendicitis he couldn't straighten his legs ot so had them drawn up to his stomach to ease the pain.)
