good morning all brighter here this morning and so far a light blue sky with white clouds and 7 degrees. a bit chilly but nicer than all that low cloud cover.
Ann one of the only good things about a fall of snow is that it is good for photography.
Not sure what I am doing this morning, suppose it should be HW but I also want to finish writing my cards. Not many to go now. this afternoon it is the u3s main meeting. I seem to remember the talk is something to do with the Beatles, Elvis etc but can't remember exactly. good if it stays dry as I walk there. (not very far at all).

Yes, hasn't Vera had a good day! :-0 I must get cracking or Christmas will be here.
Yes, you are absolutely right about mules being dangerous AnnG, especially on stairs. The only reason I like them is because my feet are cooler in them. The open front sandals I wear have adjustable straps across the front or velchro so they aren't loose, but it might be sensible to get some more secure winter slippers.
This teacher is different to the others in that he gets us to look at colours in much more detail which I am finding very helpful. I can never remember the names of colours though and just mix what I have till I think it looks right. I'm not sure I could turn my hand to anything AnnG, but at least I'm more likely to have a go now!
I wonder if we'll get any of the snow that's forecast later this month?

Gosh Vera once you started on the ordering you got loads done. Presents for others and presents for you. And lots done in the garden too.
Ann I don’t wear mule type slippers as I am wary of tripping on the stairs.
As I said on my email I thought the painting was fascinating and I liked the colours. It shows you can turn your hand to anything too.

That's good you got some slippers AnnG. I tend to wear sandal type things with just an adjustable band across the front in the summer. They can go in the washer and are cool for me to wear. I like mule slippers for the winter though. I must dig mine out from the bottom of the wardrobe.
Mel as I said in my email I can't believe what lovely colours Phil's feathers are. Robbie has nice clean pants now then. :-D Speaking of which OH has asked me to order him some new ones! lol.

Thought I’d just do a quick post while dinner’s cooking.
It was a lovely sunny day this morning. I did the little bit of ironing I had and tidied round generally while OH hoovered through, then we both spent an hour in the garden. I cut down more dead foliage and he raked up all the leaves and had a sweep up. My iPad was saying it was 11 degrees but felt colder. I thought it felt a lot warmer. I only had an ordinary cardi over a cotton shirt and I felt quite warm.
After lunch I spent a couple of hours on the computer as I felt I ought to start on some Christmas shopping. I got an Amazon voucher for son’s birthday as he likes to buy audio books that he can listen to as he’s driving, and a joint Christmas present for him and his wife, a book that granddaughter wanted and a book for OH, a kindle book for me and a couple of cardigans for me. I don’t spend much on myself so thought I’d treat myself. By a bit of internet searching I found a couple of voucher codes I could use so I saved just over £40.
It sounds as though your trip out was nice AnnG and you got a couple of bits and pieces.
I hope you got everything you wanted in your delivery Mel. I was pleased with my Tesco one yesterday. It was an extra large order but there was nothing missing and just 2 subs which were both acceptable.
I hope your ear infection clears up quickly Gwyn.
I’ve got the chiropodist in the morning so while I’m in town I’ll go into the library and get some cards as OH tells me the “Cards for Good Causes” have a board outside so they must have their shop set up as usual.
Better go and check on dinner. I hope you all have a good night.

Sent a couple of pics but Robbie is not very clear as its the only one I got before he flew away. We had been watching him having his bath and they light bits each side of him are his feathers!! hence washing his underware.

There were about 14 of us in for coffee spread over three table (a couple of which were two pushed together. We had coffee and a long chat, then a shop around and I bought dome slippers I have been looking for, I have a couple of pairs of the soft soled bedroom type slippers but I wanted a more substantial pair which I bought in edinburgh wool. also got some whisky chocs for a tree present for one of my Grandsons. but didn't find a lot to buy. then the four of us who were in one car had lunch and I bought my friend's, she is the one who drives me places. She only had soup with croutons and a roll and butter but she said it was lovely. I had a jacket with tuna mayo. and salad and coleslaw. have to admit I didn't eat all the salad as I am not keen on the leaves they serve in the winter and there was just too much cucumber.

Morning All,
The PC says 8 degrees and foggy here, but there's no fog. We were up early and at the farm shop by five to nine and are stocked up with veg, eggs etc. now and all wiped down. OH didn't have a good night, is feeling under the weather this morning and is a bit of a grump, which is unusual for him, so I'm finishing my painting and keeping out of the way. Lol. He is on a zoom call now for the next hour.
Not sure what I am doing after lunch, but I want to sort out some of my older or less liked tops to wear as the current scruffs need chucking out now. :-D
I hope the wipe down is done now Mel so you have some time for your craft today. How are you doing with the mould you were making?
I hope you enjoy your trip and find some more things for the garden AnnG.

good morning all only 7 degrees here so lower again than it has been. and the forecast for the weekend is 'winter' temperatures. If it means some lovely bright sunny but cold days that is not so bad. But wet and cold won't be nice.
Ann your garden is almost ready for winter now then. I am, all being well with my lift, off to another G centre this morning for coffee with U3a people. It is another one with a very large cafe so hopefully we will be ok.
Mandy hope your family continue to be well with the Covid. When each one catches it, I know they have to isolate but do the ones whose isolation is complete have to stay isolated because of their siblings?

So just the boys without it now then Mandy. I bet it has affected the rest of other familiies where one has caught it at the school too. Hopefully all are still feeling well. One of the county primary schools here has had 42 cases and had to go online with teaching again for some. I expect this will be happening a lot now.
I used to love doing those prints with potatoes at school. :-) We had to paint our potatoes this time, building up layers of colours. Mine didn't look very special, but neither did the teacher's really. lol. We did a banana next choosing one of four techniques and I chose pen and wash which I did with the last teacher and it turned out much better. I'll have a go at the other ones before next week. This teacher is much more technical and after 3 weeks we still haven't painted a picture yet!
That's good you enjoyed your trip AnnG and found some things to buy. I changed to buying plastic pots a few years ago because we were hurting our backs trying to move the heavy pot ones. I put big plastic flowerpots inside those now that I can lift out seperately, which makes them easier for me to move or plant up.
OH has pulled up the French Marigolds and Begonias as they were past their best and has half filled the garden bin again. The last Cosmos can go too now.
I hope your ear infection soon clears up Gwyn and it will be good to be able to get your booster.
We hope to do an early trip to the farm shop in the morning. I am out of eggs and also want some of their big mushrooms and juicy oranges, also some bread rolls and salad.

Hi all including Gwyn. I had a good shop at dobbies, it was quite crowded as it was 10% off everything day for members bur most people were being careful, the restaurant is well spaced out and the majority were wearing masks. got a couple of presents I was short and a couple of plastic pots (less weight), some winter flowering pansies and a small bag (as much as I can lift) of organic peat free compost. No I have nor tried it before but it was the only compost in a smaller bag so we shall see. I also got some tulips, a heather and some Grape ice Muscari which are a very dark blue lower part of the flower with a white tip. These pots are for the front where the car used to park. As it was so crowded we had coffee but not lunch

Good morning all.
Mild but no sunshine here.
Just back from seeing the nurse at our GP's surgery. I phoned this morning and wonder of wonders I got an appointment and the nurse was lovely. I now have 5 days of anti biotics for an ear infection, but otherwise feel fine, so was able to book my booster for next weekend.
AnnG, I hope you enjoy your visit to Dobbies. When I go to our nearest one, I usually manage to see and buy something, even if I go on a 'just looking' visit, if we go for coffee.

Morning all
No fog here today but grey and dull again, and it’s BORING MONDAY. I’ve changed the bedding and done 3 loads of washing. Tesco are coming sometime between 2 and 6 pm. They used to text me first thing in the morning with a more exact time but their texts are getting later and later. I hope they don’t come close to 6 pm as we have to be out by 7.15 and that will be a real rush.
It’s a club meeting tonight with a speaker talking about “The Waterways of the Tsars”. I felt quite comfortable last month as the caretaker moved all the furniture we didn’t need out of the room so the chairs could be spaced out more and the door was left open.
I hope the fog lifted and you got to Dobbies AnnG.
I realise you like to know all your chicks are OK Mel and it’s good to know you’re looking out for us all, but some posters might like to just pop in now and then rather than post every day and that’s fine too. It’s horses for courses ;-)
I’ve had my cuppa so I’d better get on. Have a good day everyone.

Morning All,
It's mild here today so the washing has gone outside. The windowcleaner came this morning (a week late) but at least he was early so that's done now.
Lunch is nearly ready, a chicken strips with left over veg, added onion, peas and a few beans and some cauli rice. It's used up some odds and ends! Then it will be class and I need to wash my pots out ready and find a potato!
I hope you enjoy your trip out AnnG and find some things to buy too.
Mel, I hope they do continue Strike as we really enjoyed it. I'm quite enjoying The Larkins I recorded at the moment, gentle simple humour. I must have a look at my clay sometime. I keep forgetting about it.
Yes it would be nice to hear from the others as we are thin on the ground now.
Better check lunch......BBL.

Yes Ann you are probably right, I have notice the Queen was looking stooped lately. Let us hope she can rest enough to get he back better. I suspect she really hates being inactive.
