Thank you Gwyn I looked at the calendar for Feb that year but the dates don't ring a bell ,I'll just have to try and bring it up again in conversation when I next see her and try and find out the date ,might be able to do it in the new year by saying we'll whats happening this year it needs to be than last year and hope they mention the anniversary :-)

We had a little sun this afternoon but it's really chilly again now .

Mandy
Was there any newspaper announcement when they married or perhaps on one of the significant anninversaries such as Silver or Golden?

I know we shouldn't generalise, but back then, most people married on a Saturday and you could look online for a calendar for the correct year and see if that helps...........

AnninGlos Report 30 Nov 2021 15:27

Long time since I did any research do none of the free sites give dates? Free BMD etc? and you obviously know the year 1962

Maybe somebody could actually ask them saying they want to send for a card from the queen. (But then they would have to do so of course.)

Mel all their children are organising it but the oldest son came and asked me because he knew we use to go out together in February for a meal , we don't send each other anniversary cards until it gets to a special one .
Not sure where they married I was only about seven .

Anng if I looked on a genealogy site I don't think it would give me a date would it only the quarter and we know it's February.

AnninGlos Report 30 Nov 2021 14:59

Can't you look on one of the genealogy sites Mandy for the date, especially if you know where it was.

I just clicked on the 1 degree on the pc and it went up to 11 degrees so must have got stuck!!!!!

Mandy who sent you the invitation? Do you know where they married? and your birthday is just before mine so when you went out together to celebrate can you not remember whether it was before your birthday or after?

Afternoon all,

11 degrees here and drizzling, it's a very dark day we have the lights on .

I went on line and booked Colins booster managed to get into Dereham hospital but they said they were having technical difficulties I put the email in to get confirmation but haven't had an email back do now we're not sure if it's booked or not .
I then had a go at booking mine but the Dereham hospital had been taken off the list but I could have had an appointment at a hospital in wait for it Leicestershire!!!!!
They were showing walk ins on the local news some people had been queueing since half past eight and were still waiting at half past eleven .

Ann your little Christmas scene looks really pretty with the light ,as Vera said the photo of the Robin would make a lovely Christmas card.

Mel that will be good if OH can mend your fairy looking forward to seeing the advent ring .

You'll have peace of mind now Anng with the pad there should you need it sounds a very handy piece of equipment, that was nice of him to do the bulb too while he was there .

Oh no Vera glass seems to hang about in corners for months just when you think that's the last bit another bit appears from nowhere .

We had an invitation for my sisters and bil's secret diamond wedding anniversary afternoon tea in February, only one problem nobody knows the exact date they got married their son came and asked but I couldn't remember we just know its definitely Feb as we used to go out for a meal with them for their anniversary and my birthday .
Sister and bil called in yesterday and I tried to bring the subject up but the conversation got interrupted and I couldn't go any further with it .

That's good AnnG and will give you and your family peace of mind.

Great that he changed your bulb too.

AnninGlos Report 30 Nov 2021 13:37

My computer is saying the same as Alexa 12 degrees.

That was quickly done so now there are four alarms as they don't remove the battery ones. He said if they did they would leave a mark. The vibrating thing goes under the bottom sheet and there is a small control on the shelf above my side of the bed. It is plugged in by the bed and that must not be unplugged. I have put a label by the plug. The whole lot remains the property of Gloucestershire Deaf Association and I have to keep the empty boxes So I have put them in a bag and labelled it on a shelf in T's office.

Yes, he changed the bulb for me.

Mel, my computer is saying 2 degs and sunny but weather app on iPad says 8 degrees, feels like 5, thick cloud and drizzle. The iPad seems to have got it right. I think the computer is stuck on yesterday's weather!

That's good that the coopies are still laying some eggs for you. It's a nuisance that Asda are going to be late but at least they let you know.

Is your vibrating alarm in place now AnnG. Did you get the fireman to change the bulb for you?

My friend was here at 10.10 am. She usually comes with her husband as they are our closest friends and the two men get on well. I was puzzled as her husband has a regular commitment on Tuesday mornings. However, all was revealed when she got here. It's their diamond anniversary in March and she had found a present for him online but didn't want him to know about it so she wanted me to order it and have it delivered here, which I have just done for her. OH made a pot of tea for us and then disappeared into the kitchen with his book and we had a lovely chat until about 11.30 when she had to leave to pick up her OH.

OH seems to be getting very clumsy lately. This morning he managed to drop a glass on to the kitchen floor and, of course, it smashed into a million bits. He swept up first and then hoovered but I bet I'll be finding little bits of glass for the next week. Of course, he couldn't break one of the old glasses - no, it was one of four attractive new tumblers I only bought a couple of weeks ago.

I can hear him banging about in the kitchen now so I guess he is getting us a snack for lunch. I might just go down and discreetly supervise before he breaks something else.

Oh, the computer has woken up at last and is now saying 9 degrees and cloudy.

Pc still says 1 here but its not that cold out but the digital reader outside under the plastic roof outside the back door is also saying 1 degree.

Had another egg this morning so I have four now for Sundays big breakfast of our own eggs. Little ones are not laying yet.

Asda have told us that they will be late today and now coming about 12.50 which is the time I start getting lunch which is a nuisance.

Morning all

It’s quite a bit warmer this morning but thick, grey cloud and it’s very wet - again.

You’ve done a good job on painting the Christmas scene Ann and the light really brings it to life. That’s a lovely photo of Robbie. It looks like a Christmas card :-)

I’ve just had a text from a friend asking if 10.15 is too early for her to come. I didn’t know I was expecting her! One of us has got our diary in a muddle. Apart from that I have no particular plans for the day.

Your meal sounds tasty Mel and you have been busy collecting for your ring.
I'd love to see a picture please, when you've completed it.
Pork and Apple sausages for us this evening with red cabbage and mashed potato.

AnnG.. Your feline friend sounds a bit like Six Dinner Sid, in the children's book about a cat that used to go from house to house to get fed until the neighbours got talking and realised that they were ALL feeding him.
Sometimes though, cats just want a quiet comfortable place to have a sleep away from hustle and bustle. My sister had such a frequent visitor, when a neighbouring family had a lively young lad.

Yes Mel not very often just when the mood takes him. Strange it is often on a Monday so I guess the other ‘home’ he goes to the owner is out on Mondays. At least I could let his owner know he is ok, seems happy and well fed.. I sent her a photo as he rarely goes home and she worries if she doesn’t have news of him.
