Better put bike lights on your Christmas list then Mandy :-). The beef was very tender but there’s plenty left. Shall I make sandwiches and post you all a couple? If you don’t like beef Ann I’m afraid you’ll have to go without. There’s no crumble and custard left as OH came back for seconds.

I hope your OH isn’t in too much pain Ann and the same for your poor son Mandy.

Boris making an announcement on a Sunday evening is a bit ominous. I wonder what he will say. When I told OH he said the same as Island but was a bit flummoxed when I asked who he would want in Boris’s place. It’s sad when you don’t have much faith in any politician from either of the main parties. Well, whatever he is going to say, I expect we’ll all just keep muddling along.

No I should think Vera will have a little over for cold cuts tomorrow, we always had some over for the next day ,minced up sometimes for a shepherd's pie .

Oh yes Anng I saw all the devastation on the news those poor people their homes all flattened and just before Christmas too.

I wonder what Boris is going to say later they did say on the news they didn't think he was going to make more restrictions but you never know we've now gone onto level 4 and level 5 is lockdowns so I hope we don't need to go there again at Christmas.

What an ordeal he's had Mandy and still some pain. I hope he doesn't get problems like before and that having the other tooth out won't be such a problem. Those injections do sting in the roof of your mouth. I shouldn't think he's keen on having to go back next time.

I can't decide what to have for lunch tomorrow, so better have a look what to defrost. I suppose it depends what happens with OH's car and whether we can possibly get it booked in somewhere tomorrow and what time. Window cleaner comes tomorrow so we will have to be up early anyway.

No AnnG, not a good time as you say, and it's going to get worse with this new variant. Thanks for mentioning the update tonight, it had passed me by.

I hope that hernia is not going to be a problem Nile Ann. Not a good time to need medical attention.

Everyone is stressed with Covid but how awful the tornadoes are in USA, whole small towns flattened. Hard to imagine such devastation.

Announcement by p M at 8pm just to cheer up our evening

Vera you can post me a slice of beef and I can have it tomorrow. My four cards are sitting on my string looking very lonely There's one from Mandy one from Fiona and two from friends and Anng's lovely one on my pc box on my desk so five in all.

I cleaned the big girls out this morning and started and nearly finished Phyl's ring for Friday. Just have to make the bows and put three flowers in it for her.

I see you did some gardening Vera and are now paying for it. Hope the back is easier now.

Poor G hope he has not done too much damage to his heria.

Oh so she was a great help then Ann.

Son's gum is still very tender and he's hoping he doesn't get dry socket prob, ems like he's had before ,she did say she might have to refer him to the hospital to have his other tooth out .
He said when she was pulling the tooth out it was so painful as she injected into the roof of his mouth :-0

Vera sorry will have to cancel the beef meal with you as I can't find my lights and I dont hink a candle on my bike will be bright enough :-D

Ha ha Mandy..........you'll have worked up an appetite by the time you've pedalled there! :-) How is your son with his teeth now?

Just had a frustrating call with a call centre about my email problem. :-S I wish they'd listen properly to your explanation instead of deciding they know and then are barking up the wrong tree. She was gabbling so quickly, I couldn't make out what she was saying and I'm sure if I did the same she wouldn't follow me either. I said it was my provider account but both OH and I had seperate email addresses on it, but after being put on hold, she told me my problem was because I was using OH's email address at the same time as him!!! I set her straight and more holding on. It now seems they are doing a security upgrade that could be affecting my emails and not OH's. She couldn't say how long it will take either.

Oh no Ann OH will have to take it easy for a few days hope he's not getting to much pain with it .

Afternoon All,

Sunny and 13 degrees here. The young cattle in the back field were sunbathing in a sunny spot when we were having lunch. One was flat out on his side with his legs stretched out. Quite a few are all black and we wonder if they are more of Istanbull's offspring.

Thanks Vera, but I'll skip the 'main course' as I don't like beef..........but will be round for 'afters', yummy rhubarb crumble and custard!! :-D OH went out and did a bit of weeding earlier, but he seems to have upset his hernia now.

I watched a 'decluttering' programme last night and one of the children in a family with 2 little girls had 150 teddy bears! They even had a huge box filled with nothing but odd socks, as well as hundreds of CDs and box sets. They had a large, very nice house, but every room was cluttered. The parents were both sentimental and hung onto everything. I think I could have fitted all my toys and books in one large cardboard box as a small child. A small wardrobe held all my and my sister's clothes and we had a small chest of drawers between us, a drawer each. As a teenager I did get dad to put a shelf across the alcove in the bedroom for my books. Mum was quite ruthless at throwing things out if they were broken and I think she gave things away or sold them without us knowing.

You are all welcome to come to dinner. I’ve laid extra places :-)

I do eat meat but only like small amounts and of all the roasts beef is my least favourite. OH enjoys it though and loves his Sunday roast. I’ll just have a slice of meat. I do like my veg though. Just taken the beef out to rest. We have Yorkshire’s, roast pots and parsnips, steamed carrots and cauli. OH will have mustard with his beef and drown everything in as much gravy as his plate can hold.

Rhubarb crumble is just going in the oven. The rhubarb is from daughter’s garden via the freezer. I’m just having a Bacardi and coke. I think I’ve earned it as I also gardened for over an hour this morning. The ground was really soggy and I couldn’t use either of our kneelers so had to stand and bend over which hasn’t done my back a lot of good. Never mind, it’s worth the backache to see the garden looking a bit tidier.

Right, better see what the veg are doing. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Good afternoon Mel, Mandy, Vera and Island.
Mandy yes I wondered that, or an elaborate baby reveal party. I am pretty sure it was a military affair, shall have to see if there is any mention on facebook.

Mmm enjoy your roast beef.

Afternoon all,

Vera many thanks for your christmas card and I'll be there for roast beef too if that's ok :-D

Sun keeps trying to peep through there's odd bits of blue sky and it's 13 degrees .

Just sold two more of my fairies at the door I might make a couple more this afternoon .

Perhaps the fireworks were from a wedding party Anng .

Nearly lunchtime I have some soup that needs using up so nice and easy .

Good morning AnnG and all

11 degrees here but thick cloud. It rained heavily overnight so everywhere is wet again. I hope it’s going to dry up a bit later as I want to get into the garden. Not all the autumn jobs got finished and it would be good to get out there today while it’s a bit warmer. Otherwise I have no plans apart from cooking a roast dinner. It’s beef brisket today with all the trimmings, followed by rhubarb crumble.

good morning all gosh it is 12 degrees here although no different in outlook, still dull with a complete cloud cover, yesterday was horrible all day very dark lights on and cold indoors. However as I was going to bed about 10.35 there was a most beautiful expensive looking firework display seemingly right outside my upstairs windows. I think it was probably down the camp but it went on for ten minutes and won't have pleased pet owners but I loved it. Strangely most of the fireworks were pinky colours bit there were reds and blues too. It was very pretty,
