How lovely to have a new stepgranddaughter born this morning AnnG. Have they a name for her yet?

We've just had the worst thunderstorm for hail here I've ever known. The conservatory is 14 feet long and OH had left the door at the end open and the hailstones had bounced the full length they were coming down with such force. I'm glad I left spraying some of the nasty weed till tomorrow now.

OH's laptop is working perfectly in a different room Mel , but mine was no better in any of the rooms I tried it in, or the plug sockets, or using no plugs and just the battery. Well I have managed to sign in now by leaving it longer to load than before and ignoring the cursor freezing when I put my pin in as it shows it being entered now. The chap did say he'd done some more updates on it so maybe that helped. It's still slow to load when switched on and with the keyboard not all working so I have to use a plug in one, I think it's time to buy another laptop before I get more problems. The problem is which to buy and the hassle of setting it up with short cuts etc and saving my docs and pictures off it to transfer. I was told it is high spec, so don't want any less on a new one or it will be outdated after a year or two. ERNIE's £400 this month will help!

I need to get rid of my rollerball Dyson. It's ubused and taking space up. To think it seemed so light in weight when I bought it compared to the previous hoover. Now it seems so heavy.

I had not realised that you were going away Vera, hope you have a good journey and manage to get everything packed..
That is strange about your laptop Ann. Hope it is ok with a different keyboard.
It has been a lovely sunny day here which made our drive to Beetham very pleasant.
I can add to birthdays today as we had an audition this morning a new little step granddaughter.

Afternoon All,

Sunny but with black clouds here. I sent Mel a text yesterday to let you know my laptop was going to be hopefully repaired as I couldn't even sign in with it freezing, but think I must have used a wrong number. Anyway the chap who runs a business from the little industrial estate the other side of the village plugged it in and it behaved perfectly for him, so OH went again to go and fetch it for me. I tried it and still couldn't sign in, so rang them again and they said to drop it in again with any devices I plug into it. OH said he would take it in this morning after he had taken his car in for the new windscreen at 7.30am. Then OH wasn't well with the trots, dashing to the 'white friend' through the early hours and daren't risk taking his car and waiting an hour or more so had to text and cancel, as I'm not able to take it for him either at the moment which I would have done normally. The earliest they can now do it is the 18th June! As he seemed ok by mid morning today he took my laptop in again and they showed him it was working perfectly for them so couldn't do anything!! They also gave him one of their 'nicer than mine' plug in keyboards for me to use and didn't charge a penny either for their time or the keyboard. OH has managed to sign in on it by ignoring the freezing, so I'm leaving it on now till I've done what I need to do. Last week I bought a bead pattern I like of a holly bracelet and theres just one of the beads I need to order for it as I already have the rest. Hopefully I should have it finished by Christmas!

My back is improving a bit each day and I think it's like you say and being careful and rest as soon as it aches. I had to get in the car lying backwards and hotch across the seat with my legs down the side of the seat and almost trapped in the narrow gap at the front of where the door opens. It bent my back at 90 degrees to my legs and then I twisted it sideways to get my knees under the steering wheel. I shan't be doing that again!

That was a good idea and way to use the water off the canopy Mandy. A handy bit of multitasking.

Vera the paramedic sounded really thorough with asking questions about your general health too. I have had my blood test results back and they all look normal except the blood sugar which seems to stay in the prediabetic range. Once I'm more mobile I need to see my doctor about the results and probably a different kind of compression socks she hinted at.

It's good you contacted the doctor and got a call Mel. Sometimes the risks with meds are less than the risks of doing without them. If you remember, our Jane had acid reflux for months and would talk about taking gaviscon before she had trouble swallowing and was diagnosed. (I still miss her and her cheerfulness.) It is one of the risks with acid reflux. It will be nice to enjoy your food more now, but bear in mind that the tablets reduce the absorption of things like calcium from your food, but you probably already know that having been on them a long time. I seem to nearly always get subs from Asda now and keep getting the Actimel bottles with short dates, so I can only use four of the twelve bottles. I'm not complaining though as they refund me for the twelve pack so the four I can use are free. Well done on keeping off the ciggies!

When I lived in Suffolk and had the pet shop in Boxted I had two goats that were going to be put down. A girl Katie and a boy Barny. When I moved down here mum would'nt let me bring the goats so I gave them to my friends mum who had lots of animals. I raised these two kids from the day of their birth. Vet said I would'nt do it as they had'nt had much Colostrum but I did and Katie was a maiden milker and I milked he in the shop once they were too big to take each day in the car. Hubby built then a stable outside the back of the shop. I used to sell the milk in the shop and hubby drank it as he could'nt have a lot of cows milk. Lactose intollerent he was.

Goat? What goat is this Mel? My youngest granddaughter’s birthday is today. She’s 20. She’ll be delighted to know she is sharing it with your goat :-D

It rained heavily in the night. Now it’s showers on and off but it is very grey and muggy

We have a busy day today. Got to sort out a load of books and other stuff that’s going up to my son’s tomorrow, plus do some admin that must be done before we go. I also need to sort out what we are taking. Clothes are easy, we’re only away for 3 days but it’s all the.medical supplies, washing and shaving gear etc that take the time. I have to go to a Ladies Club meeting tonight as well as I keep missing them and haven’t paid my annual subscription yet.

Will try and get back later if time permits.

I ordered Timeout by mistake instead of Twirl, anyone want a time out? They are not as nice as they used to be, they used to have a flake type layer of chocolate at the top they were thinner and they had more chocolate coating them. Now they are just a wafer biscuit with a very thin layer of chocolate.

Good morning all. Not raining but Misty and dull. We are heading to another garden centre for coffee further south. Not much else we can do but we don’t mind. If it gets brighter there is plenty to see around there and here.

I managed to get a doctor to call this morning by ringing early. Also they did say I could have the doc ring me on Friday or it may be Monday so I don't know which worked but at least I got a call. I have not done a thing today just slobbed around but feeling better it was nice to have a day free of pain.

Hope our Annx is a bit better today but these back problems can take quite a while to get back to normal.

Still raining here but lightly now. There's even puddles on the road!!!!!!! I hope last week was'nt our summer!

Afternoon all ,we thought we heard thunder a while ago, we did have a few spots of rain but it didn't last long .

Mel thats good you've got that problem sorted out with the doctor ,indegestion pain can be very uncomfortable, you were lucky to get to talk with a doctor,we have a heck of a job here .

Katie's has tonsillitis and had some antibiotics from the pharmacist but it's still bad dil rang the doctors this morning and was told by the receptionist to go back to the pharmacy which she did but they then said no she needs to see a doctor as we can't give another lot of antibiotics so back to the doctors to be told no you need to go on line and fill the form in ,luckily they got an appointment for this afternoon, I haven't heard yet how she got on .

Ann hope your back and side are a bit easier today just keeping resting and don't do to much ro soon .
