It's nice to see you posting again Gill we all wondered how things were going ,it sounds as if you still have plenty to keep you busy in the bungalow and the garden .
How is Sandra is she still living in her flat with her boyfriend .
At the end of September I fell over crossing the road ,I rung my ankle in a rut and the next minute I was down on the ground ,broke both my wrists grazed all the side of my face and grazed my knee ,I had to have an op to put plates in both wrists .

The morning started off dry so I decided to go to Aldi and do my shopping ,I just got home and it started to rain , boy was it windy in the night it woke me up but it seems to have calmed down now.

Anng I soaked my sweet peas and planted them in pots last year but mine just seemed to go all leggy I wondered if I should have nipped the tops out to thicken them up .

Mel I bet your girls have kept in out of the wind .

Still lots going on in your life Gill. It will be good if the landscapers can help with the garden.
The group is a U3A group that I facilitate. Tony and I started it off and I have carried on. We normally meet at my home and it is a gardening interests group which covers a multitude of subjects and basically we chat about everything (and nothing). There were nine of us today we discussed soaking and planting sweet pea seeds and putting them in the greenhouse when sprouted, and chatting and growing potatoes, plus more on organising and caring for our compost bins. All interesting stuff.

Wet and windy here today. OH went to a few places to sort out the next jobs, we've got the cement boards arriving tomorrow so we can put them down in the empty room, once that's done and been varnished we can finally decorate and buy a carpet then sort out a spare bedroom, it'll be nice to finally move the wardrobes out of the hall :-D

We've got the double glazing people coming on the 23rd to see if the kitchen window can be fixed, the handle is jammed so we can't open it, they're also measuring up for a new front door and are going to look at the back door which isn't sitting straight. When the kitchen window is sorted I'll be able to sort out around the window, OH bought some filler for me today but I don't want to fix it if the window needs taking out and replaced. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it which should cost a lot less.

We had a leaflet posted through the door yesterday from a company who does extensions and also outside landscaping, so we're going to ring them about the garden to see if they can level it for us when the weather improves. So plenty going on at the moment.

I hope you managed to sort the bird feeder out Mel, it sounds quite a job. I'll see if my neighbour can take a photo of the back garden on her phone and email it to you all. I've lost everyone's email address though so could you all PM me it please, along with your addresses and birthdays as they were all in my address book which has gone missing. I put it in a safe place, but it's that safe it's hidden from me LOL :-D :-D

What is the group AnnG, it sounds quite a gathering, hope you all have fun.

Well, better go and sort dinner out, or we might have a chippy meal for a change, we haven't had one of those for ages. I'll see what OH wants.

Good morning all, still windy but not as strong as yesterday dry so far but very dull so probably rain later. Got the group this afternoon 12 of us so have to get all the chairs ready after dusting around.

Wiundy dull and wet morning here and pc says rain to stop and 11 degrees.

I did wonder what damage would be in the garden this morning as the wind was gale force last night. Came oiut this morning as I had heard a crash late last night, and found that the bird feeder in on the ground surrounded by birds trying to feed so that is the first thing I have to try and do this morning. It has two big weights off the turftrack mower on the base but I can't lift them to wedge them round the pole. I tried yesterday when it fell over so I think I shall have to get the pliers out and take out the rusted off bit that in the hole on the icecream sign that hold it up.

I'll let you know how I get on later as yesterday I was covered in dirt after tackling it.

Just closing everything down for the night and checking in. Being back after a absence of a while I also notice folk missing, such as Frank, Ann and Fiona (?) I see Ann on Facebook and follow her blossoming art and encourage her. I know she is always inspired by my own drawings and paintings which are on my Facebook pages. Fiona is also on there as a regular so I follow her too.
The absence of Frank worries my as in the past and being ex RAF like myself, he has been very kind to me. I hope he is alright and that sometime or other we learn how he is and that he is alright.
We have had a good day except I had to gather the washing in before it either blew away or got wet in the showers. So it's shopping at 8am for me tomorrow,. breakfast, then do the ironing. Meantime, as and when she is awake, I'll be looking to my caring duties for Carmel. I was out this morning to the post office to mail two more of my books, one to a pal in Birmingham and another to a lady in Sutton on Sea. I also had to drop a copy off to my lady barber who is just across the road from the post office.
Having said all that, I bid you all goodnight and sweet dreams.

O nice to hear from you Gill we all missed you. Its good to know you have at last got the bathroom done and are now starting on the kitchen. Hope all goes well for the garden in the spring and summer. We really need to see some pictures you know. Could a friend take some that we may see please?

Just a short note to say gill, it is so good to see you. we were puzzled, then worried and then I think we thought you might have internet trouble so we almost but not quite gave up on you. But so good to see that you are both ok and great news that you have your garden ready for designing and your bathroom finished. Hope it won't be too long before you can get going with the kitchen, but, plenty of time, it will be worth waiting for.

I am just off to bed but wanted to get this on here. Stay with us now we will want to know all about the plans for the garden.

We hope Frank is OK we haven't heard for a long time. Annx is fine, she is busy with craft courses (painting0 and taking a bit of a break from the thread.

Hi all

I'm finally back after such a long time. With the cost of living we've had to stop the Internet and a few other things until we got back on track. I went to come on here and my sub had run out so I've just sorted that for another year.

We've finally got our bathroom done, all we need now is some flooring and a blind, it looks so posh :-D :-D We're hoping to have the kitchen done next but that depends on how much it'll cost, so for now we've been busy taking all the flaky paint off the walls and the old tiles around the sink. Unfortunately some of the plaster came off around the window so that needs fixing but we've decided to have the kitchen window replaced as the lock is broken first, then fix the wall around it.

The garden is almost cleared and looks massive, we're hoping to have someone with a digger to level it all off as it's to large an area to do by hand. We'd like to take one more large tree out and the old garage as it's asbestos then we can put some fencing around and start building a new garden. OH got me a couple of garden design books for Christmas so I'm going to take a look at those for some ideas. I can't get over the size of the back garden it's massive so is going to take a lot of thought and planning to get it right.

Both OH and I have just had bad flu which laid us both up for over a week. OH is back in work but I'm not quite over it and think I might need some antibiotics for a cough that I can't seem to rid of.

I noticed Frank and Ann aren't on here, are they okay? Maybe they're on another page and I've missed their posts. I hope everyone is keeping well and the weather isn't to bad, it's been very wet and windy here lately, so no gardening just yet as it's like a swimming pool out there. ;-) certainly not gardening weather.

I can't find my address book so don't have anyone's address, could you PM them to me please. I hope no one thought I was being funny not sending any Christmas cards last Christmas. Hopefully things will start to get back to normal now, could you let me know your birthdays as well and email addresses. Thanks <3 <3

Clouded over now but we have had sunshine all morning and when I went out in the car it was quite dazzling, its quite windy here too.

Was it yesterday Vera was having her next injection in her eye, hope she's OK .

Anng have you had the cat round lately ,I suppose in the summer with doors open he just comes in but this time of the year with doors closed he has to wait to be let in .

No thunder but we have had really heavy rain and gale force winds. Glad I don't have to go out today.

We've had a heck of a thunderstorm that kept knocking the leccy out lashing hail and rain. The hailstones settled for a long while and the wind is gale force. Loads of really loud thunder so I shut down the pc and waited.

Just had thunder and the skies now dark grey and its pouring with rain lashing against the windows.

Boiled beef and carrots boiled beef and carrots. It just came into my head. We used to have it when I was young with pease pudding from a tin. I wonder if they still do pease pudding?

They do it in Sainsbury's and its still in the same tin, Foresight pease pudding. Now where on earth did that memory come from?

Morning Anng and all,

Quite bright here too this morning but its 9 degrees here and pc says cloudy and its a bit windy too. We have blue sky with white clouds but they are noving quickly across the sky.

Nothing planned here either so I shall do a bit of HW (UHG) and some casting maybe and get a few more coats on the moulds I am making.

Its bin day tomorrow so I have toget that sorted and up the top as they come quite early.
