Trouble is Gwyn, even if you add the veg to your on line order at the beginning of the week for the weekend, if it gets all bought up bu vising customers none will be reserved for orders. As it is only me for Easter it doesn't really ffect me but thanks for the heads up.
Godd morning all, 7 degrees and sunny so not too warm and another day of doing little. Although I have put a wash on. Fortunately that is not very energetic as long as I don't bend own too much. Dressings come off later today and vaseline goes on with a light dressing maybe to protest clothes.

Bright and sunny here too, but it feels chilly in the strong breeze. Lots of blue sky.
Hope you get the post sorted, Mel and that B in L is able to fix the mower.
Many of the supermarkets will have cut price offers this coming week on some of the usual vegetables, as they do at Christmas. I think offers start on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the store.
Best check online for your favoured supermarket, if you are interested.

Morning all,
Nice and bright here today but its cold at the moment at 6 degrees.
BIL is coming today to see if he can do the mower himself. He can actually do it its just he like to have it done for him most of the time.
I have to sort out three orders and am sure to get in a muddle, two are combined postage but I just hope I send the right things to the right people and the tablet dos'nt play up showing the labels.

That was a good idea AnnG and would be a welcome distraction and nice to have a chat with the others too to take your mind off the discomfort. I hope you have a better night tonight.
Mel the tall hedge has a field behind it and isn't trimmed very often so he could have squeezed himself almost out of sight inbetween the branches, but he stood a good foot away from it in the road. It was like watching a hosepipe and I had to swerve to go round him! It's a narrow road and where you turn in it has a tall solid fence the opposite side of the road that has back gardens behind it and so no bungalows overlook the top end of the close as it bends before the bungalows come into view.
Yes I expect there must be too many kinds of tyres for them to stock them all and now EVs have different ones as well, as the garage asked him if it was an EV. Yes keep reminding Stu about a spare as it saved me all this hassle when I had a puncture. They just turned up and changed the wheel on the drive and I drove the car to the garage after and they mended the puncture for me and swapped the wheel back so I could keep the worn one as the spare. The car has gone on a trailer to a garage about 5 miles away now and should be ready to pick up by lunchtime tomorrow. I have a feeling OH has forgotten to tell them to only fit a new tyre if it can't be repaired. I thought he may have given the impression the squirty repair stuff had ruined it so he's ringing them in the morning. I keep a collapsible lightweight nordic pole at the side of the passenger seat in case I need it. It's one of a pair and both of us forgot it was there when OH emptied the car, so I hope it doesn't go missing. Hopefully they won't need to get in the passenger side, so it may not be noticed.
Gwyn what a bargain with the throw and very handy to have too to keep you cosy. I bet those will be sold quickly so you were lucky to get one.

I actually decided to go to photography as that was just sitting and it took my mind off things.
Mel the stitches are still covered with Sherri strips or dressings. Vaseline will be used after tomorrow when the dressings come off.

Do you mean to say the postman was standing in the road doing what he had to do Annx. He could have stood against the hedge or was that to someones garden? Gone are the days when a garage kept nearly every size of tyre. There are so many different cars now and types of tyre. I asked Stu yesterday to look out for a spare for me again. I think he forgets but that could be the parkinsons.
Gwyn they are certainly keeping an eye on you after the pneumonia episode but it must make you feel a lot safer.
Anng could you not put a bit of vasaline on your stitches etc that may stop they pulling so much.
Yes it was nice to be asked to Easter Sunday dinner he said he's doing roast beef so I am looking forward to that.
Mandy I think Fridays come around quickly too I can't understand how it a Monday and then suddenly its Friday and the weekend and I am not getting enough done during the week.
Posted a parcel today and had another look in the Cake Safe but they was'nt the cake in there I had the other day and I did'nt fancy any of the other kinds so I came home and made 18 cup cakes in a coffee flavour and when they have cooled down I am going to put some buttercream on them, coffee flavoured and a walnut on top of that.
Enjoy your evening all and I hope you all sleep well tonight.
Whats everyone watching on tv at the mo?????

Yes Mandy I did wash them well. I could understand that it was urgent, but it was the way he didn't bother to wait till I'd driven by and stood in the road rather than step forward and let the bushy hedge hide his particulars. I hope your get up and go has found it's way home, or at least some of it has.
Well OH rang the breakdown people, who are coming in the next hour or so. They asked that we check the tyre place we usually use have the right tyre, so OH rang them and they didn't! So he had to ring elsewhere to another place they suggested and they are getting a tyre in the morning. So it looks like the breakdown people will take the car there, probably with me going there to bring OH back.....not sure till they arrive. What a faff everything is nowadays.
Gwyn that's a lot of heart checks, but they are being thorough and hopefully you will get the all clear soon.

That sounds a tasty meal you cooked for Stu. No wonder he enjoyed it. Now you have a lovely Easter meal to look forward to, as well., Mel.
Your face sounds painful AnnG and I know any pressure does result in bruises, but I'm sure they will soon fade. Not much spare skin to pull on, over the face, so that doesn't help the comfort levels either. At least with poor weather, you won't feel that you are missing out on valuable gardening time. I hope you manage to have a restful day. I can manage to doze in an armchair, if needed, but I know that doesn't suit everyone.
I hope Vera and Mandy manage to pace themselves today too.Retirement seems such a busy time :-S Vera, I know what you mean, when you mentioned striped shirts.I hope you find a suitable colour and style sometime. Our school blouses were bold blue and white equally spaced stripes and Mum often mentioned that the stripes seemed to 'move', when they were being ironed and indeed must have been quite daunting, if anyone suffered from migraine.
Daughter is off work for a couple of days using up some of her annual leave, before losing it, when the new financial year starts. We had a bit of a shopping spree yesterday with some good bargains in Dunelm, where they were selling off many winter stock items. One thing I bought was a heated throw. Elder daughter has one and finds it cosy, as you can warm the person, rather than the room, if necessary. My new one was £10 now, down from £40. I might be needing it if the weather doesn't improve ;-)
Wednesday's doctor was true to her word and I got a phone call this morning to arrange an echocardiogram on Monday. I had an CT on Wednesday, so they should then have a clearer picture of whether or not last year's issues post-pneumonia have fully cleared. i think that will be echo. number 4 or 5 :-0
Annx I hope your OH's appointment comes soon.

Morning All,
I got up just once in the night but was awake from 6.00am and it was light already. OH's tyre got him home but was really flat as a pancake this morning. He'd forgotten he had no spare wheel, but shouldn't attempt lifting one anyway and we didn't want to use the stuff you squirt into the tyre which ruins it unless we have to. He needed to get to a 10.00am meeting so he's taken my car and will ring the breakdown people when he gets home.
Vera I see the garage soon sorted your car tyre out and much cheaper than needing a new tyre which is good. It might have been the valve leaking. I used to pop in B&M when we went to see OH's parents as some of their things we good. Not sure about the giant pink gnome in the garden. lol :-D It might scare off the Pigeons we get though. Yes since Christmas OH has started to be more like his old self and coming out with quick quips and I had to chuckle myself. I washed my hands after I opened the post.
We had a sharp shower here after OH had gone so no filling of the garden bin today now everything has had a soaking. I cleaned some of the bathroom, mainly the tiles around the bath that go up to the ceiling, have started the dishwasher and done some admin and stopped for a COT
The meal sounded very nice Mel and it's good that Stu enjoyed it. Nice to get an invite for Easter Sunday lunch too. I think I will buy loin instead of chops next time I go to the farm shop. It has less fat and it took me ages to cut the fatty rind off the pork chops I bought last time. I think my knives need sharpening too so that's another job to go on the list.
That's a nuisance the swelling is being a problem with your sight too AnnG. If any dressing isn't in the way maybe holding a dry flannel with ice cubes in a polythene bag or a freezer cooling bag pack rolled in it might help a bit with the swelling. It will be good when the next couple of days are over and it all hopefully is well on the way to healing well. Perhaps catch up on a bit of sleep today as you can't do your hobbies with your sight affected.

Morning all, 10 degrees here and dry at the moment but we should get rain today .
Anng it must be hard to find a comfortable way to lay with all the scars pulling ,I hope the soreness and swelling soon goes so you can get a good night's sleep .
Mel the meal sounded good and christmas pud to finish sounded good too ,that's nice to be Invited out for an Easter lunch saves you cooking .
Ann that a nuisance about the bed base so your now back to finding another one. Hope OH got home OK with the puncture, more expense as dear Frank would say .
Vera thats good OH got his tyre sorted ,did they put a tube in ? I don't know if they still use tubes these days . Nice to have a sit down with friends for a coffee and chat after a busy week .
Can you believe its Friday again and we change the clocks tomorrow night it will be nice to have the lighter evenings again .

Morning Anng and all,
It must be so hard to not lay on your sore places Anng. I am sure the swelling will go down soon as the places heal. It must seem like forever but things will take the time they need. Did you say you have to go back in a week?
Dull and wet here this morning so it must have rained qite a lot in the night and at the mo its 10 degrees with rain starting in an hour. That means BIL won't come today. The place he sends the mowers to has arrived to pick it up yet.
Did all you others sleep well? I got up for the loo while it was still dark and lay for ages after trying to sleep.
Stu thoroughly enjoyed his meal last night and said he had'nt had pork for ages and its not something he usually buys. We had the pork loin, carrots, roast pots, cheesey leeks and broccoli both of us cleared our plates. fter that we had a piece of trhe Christmas pud he had bought after Christmas in tesco, it was a Tesco finest and was delious with lots of fruit and nuts in it. He left me a little bit for tonights sweet and I sent him home with the rest and told him how to cook a portion in the microwave if nobady else wanted it. We had it with double cream......naughty but nice.

Good morning all. Wet, wet, wet this morning and 8 degrees. So even if I could there will be no gardening foranyone here today.
Vera I like B&M, we actually used to have one in town but now it is only when I can get to out of town areas that I get to visit one.
Last night I realised that my eye felt tight still where the BCC was removed from my temple. when I looked in the mirror I saw that it is swollen and there is a large bruise. I suspect that is from the pressure he used when putting in sitches. I did feel him pressing down and, of course that skin around the eyes is quite delicate. I am hoping the swelling goes down quickly as it is not helping my sight as it distorts my glasses.
I did get some sleep last night but not really as much as I needed/wanted.

Another busy day but I don't seem to have actually achieved very much. After the usual general tidy up this morning we went to our Thursday coffee meeting. We haven't been much lately and I think the same is true of a couple of the others but today there were 8 of us, and I did a bit of shopping in Sainsbury's as well. I am sure OH is turning into a rabbit - he gets through so much salad stuff I am constantly buying more.
After a late lunch he said he wanted to go to a nearby tyre place as one of the front tyres is slowing losing air and having to be pumped up a bit more. I decided to go with him. I thought they would probably say he needed a new tyre but we sat in the waiting area for half an hour and a chap came and said it was fixed now. Goodness what they did but it was only £36 so definitely wasn't a new tyre.
B&M is just nearby and I have only been in there once since they took over the building from B&Q who closed a while ago so I dragged OH in there for a look around. My goodness there was a big variety of stuff for sale. Some of it was a load of old tat but some stuff was reasonable quality for the price they were asking. I expect someone out there would love a giant sized bright pink plastic gnome in their garden ;-)
By the time we got back it was getting on for 5 pm so I threw some dinner on the stove and dashed about doing the odd cleaning job and giving the few indoor plants I've got some much needed TLC.
I hope Stu came and enjoyed your roast loin of pork Mel. I've got that on Sunday if I remember to take it out of the freezer in time.
I know what you mean about prices for eating out Annx. OH paid £7.50 for an ordinary black coffee and a latte this morning. All these costs are going up but the eating places in town always seem to be reasonably full though I have noticed that some places are now closed on 2 days a week rather than 1. I hope your OH got home safely with his puncture and can get it quickly fixed. What a very indiscreet postman but I did laugh at your OH's comment about blackberrying.
Don't go chasing after your get up and go Mandy. Let it run away from you. It will come back when you are fully recovered. The same goes for you too AnnG - you've had a lot done in one go so give yourself time to heal before you start thinking about jobs to be done. I hope you can get more comfortable tonight and get some decent sleep.
It hasn't been bad weather today; still very breezy but without yesterday's icy wind and there has been sunshine on and off. I think it may be a cold night so keep warm ladies and sleep well.

Evening All,
Chilly this morning and breezy again but the sun shone all day. We called down the road to the nearest garden centre and had eggs florentine first and couldn't believe two poached eggs each on a split bread bun and spinach with hollandaise sauce plus a COT cost £27! No wonder places are less busy and people are not eating out as much.
We then went to the other side of the city to a carpet and bed place that was on the biggest industrial estate I've ever been on and I visited a fair few in my work in the past. Sadly the carpet sample I wanted to look at had been loaned out to another customer and the divan base I enquired about before Christmas is no longer available with linking bars! Apparently all the manufactirers are changing to cheaper, but awkward plastic clips you put on underneathe the bed now. Since coming home I've rung a few other places, and found two that supply what I want, but one charges £90 to assemble and take the old one away and I wasn't convinced he knew whether it had linking bars or not and another doesn't assemble or dispose of the old base, so I'm back to square one. Now OH has just phoned me from his meeting just a short distance away to say he has a puncture!! He thinks/hopes he will be able to get home ok, so we'll try blowing it up to get him to the tyre place first thing tomorrow, otherwise he will have to take my car to his meeting later in the morning.
On my way back from the village this morning I turned into our close as the postman in high viz jacket got out of his van on my right, crossed the road to my left where there is no footpath and a tall hedge. Next thing, standing well back from the hedge with no attempt to be discreet, he whips out his manhood and starts relieving himself!! I said to OH the man needs to carry a He Wee in his van. OH said, 'well you won't be blackberrying there this year then!'
AnnG it sounds like you didn't have a very comfortable night last night. That pulling can't be very nice, so I hope tonight will be better. It was sensible to rest and read today.
Mandy our Co-op had ordinary daffs reduced to 28p a bunch today, but they were well past their best with drooping petals and not lovely like yours. I hope you found your get up and go, I find it is something that is easily lost and you may just need to rest a bit longer.
Pork loin is usually lovely and tender Mel so I hope Stu comes to enjoy it.

Another bright sunny morning and that wind has dropped, we had a heavy shower just before we went to bed and a bit earlier we thought we heard some thunder.
Anng I hadn't realised you were having all that done ,I hope they soon feel a little easier for you and less sore ,a day of reading sounds the best thing you don't want to go doing things to soon .
Gwyn glad to hear you got on ok too with your mot and that they are chasing things up ,hope you soon get an appointment through.
Lovely photo of the butterfly Ann .
Vera you had a busy shopping day but isn't it nice to get a lot off the list although another list soon gets written again .
Mel hope Stu turns up tonight so you can enjoy your piece of pork .
