Oh Jane, please don't worry. I know it's easier said than done, but it won't do you any good. I'm sure the scan will be ok, try and enjoy Christmas with all your family.
Hope your hubby's knee and ankle are feeling better soon Mandy, hopefully the x-ray will show up what the problem is.
So you missed getting new hens Mel, that's a shame, but you're still getting the odd egg so that's not to bad. You enjoy it :-D :-D
I don't blame you for having a day off cooking tomorrow Frank, you've done so much lately and after all, it is your birthday.
I'm absolutely shattered, I've felt tired all day. We're watching John Bishop then I'm off to bed for an early night.
Signing out now Night Night

GREAT NEWS Liz, Both Conrad Harvey and Ros suffer with that, they all have to be so careful with what they eat. Ros takes a certain granule each morning, to help her, with her motions, she stores enough up for Conrad. We either give it to him when he's home or take it when we go to see him.
I have made a promise to myself, that I won't do anything tomorrow, that included cooking dinner.
Ros is away at the choir practice, Tony will pick me up for the match about 7.45 pm. So when I get home it will be BED.
The Gammons look a treat, all bright and shiny. I could take a slice off without feeling guilty. But I know I mustn't ;-) ;-) ;-)
Glad you have them both home Jane. Please give them my regards, as I feel I know them both now with all the information received from you about them both. and give you know who a stroke ;-) ;-) ;-)
I must remember my chew sticks for my doggy friends at the pub. They won't forgive me if I forget them.

Jane, I can certainly understand how you're feeling. .These things do prey on your mind. I'm sure it's something quite simple and easily treated or not need any treatment at all. It will be good to get the appointment though. Try not to worry. Anne, I hardly iron anything these days!! I used to do it when the children were young, but now it's only the two of us I don't do it anymore except the odd T-shirt, or clothes if we're going out. I just fold everything and put it in the airing cupboard! No Jane, I don't think pips will be a go-er anymore for OH. I've got to have a look at this booklet thing we were given as they've recommended what is acceptable, and what's not !! Also I can look on line for info!

I missed Liz's post but I am so glad the results were good Liz and you will be able to prevent another flare up. So pleased you hav'nt got that hanging over you both at Christmas and you can enjoy yourselves now. <3 <3
Thats the first egg I have had in ages. As I said before I tried everyones eggs around here who sell at the gate like I do and none of them matched mine at all. The best ones I have tried are from Lidl and Di got me a dozen on Thrusday. The one egg will be MINE and mine alone. I cleaned them out this afternoon thinking they would go on the perches tonight but no they all went up into the nest boxes........naughty girls.
Gill I usually have eggs right through the winter but missed getting more hens from a lady nearby who has Waitrose hens to surply eggs for Waitrose. They only keep them a year or eighteen months and then have them gassed, clean the houses out and move them to fresh ground and wait 6 weeks before they are restocked.

Well I don't know what happened to my post from early this morning. So I am finally here now and I see I have missed SO many posts today !!!!! You have all had a good blether.
Liz.I am so glad that the Colonoscopy only showed up Diverticulitis and nothing more nasty than that.Even so it is not a very pleasant condition .Will they still keep an eye on it? I think I am right in saying eating things with pips in is not a good idea (like Tomatoes ) My friend has the same thing and says pips and seeds are a NO NO for her.
Fiona,I think the box you are decorating sounds lovely for Katherine .Is it the kind of box to keep things like toiletries/make up etc in?
So an EGG Mel.Is this the beginning of more to come do you think? That would be great :-D
David I certainly have heard that expression before LOL.I like the Avator of your Dad.Do you look like him?
Frank ,as Mel (I think said) the ice is broken now with Harvey and Julia.Maybe they were just being cautious and holding back a bit .I t hink you did a wonderful job with your meal, and just to have a few yorkshires left says it all :-D :-D :-D.You deserve a bit of a rest now..Fancy doing the glaze for the gammons with a bare chest !!!!!!.You silly Billy.
Gill I think you need to slow down now and try and relax a bit before Xmas is here. You have done so much lately. All those late nights (or early mornings !!!).I don't know how you do it.
Mandy our Tescos today was crazy too.It took me ages just to get in to the car park :-S.I didn't expect it to be quite so busy today. So I decided while I was there to get the Potatoes and Veg for Xmas Day.The dates on them are fine until the 27th.
It has poured with rain today....Good job Amy got a bit of a walk this morning..Has she fully recovered now from her dizziness and sickness?
Hannah is home. She has been sitting in front of the fire wrapping presents and playing with Thomas.I have her itinerary now !!!.In to eat tonight and tomorrow .A light something to eat on Wednesday and out Thursday .It is nice to know these things :-S :-) Now James is here and getting things ready to take to the house where he is house sitting.Big bag of food, milk cereal ready .Oh and Toilet rolls LOL I said best to take some just in case .Not good to get caught out in that department :-S..Mind you I am sure his friend and wife will have left plenty of provisions . I need to get dinner in too for the 3 of us,so better bet a move on.
Ann ,I hope your back keeps improving. Those heat patches are so good aren't they.
I am finding myself getting quite wound up about what is going on in my head.Re the wooziness, fuzzy eye, etc. The sooner this CT Scan appointment comes the better.I don't want to be a worry wort over Christmas but it is just playing on my mind at the moment :-S

Liz I am so pleased it was good news for your husband, now you can really look forward to Christmas, I am like you regarding house work as long as the toilets are clean, we are so lucky these days with washing machines, dishwashers, hoovers etc there is no need to be a slave to chores its the garden that takes up most of the time but not this time of the year. I don't iron unless its really needed. The kitchen floor needs mopping several times a day because of the animals in and out all the time.
Just going to get dinner now

You're right Mandy, diverticulitis isn't much fun, but it could have been so much worse! We shall have to watch our diet to prevent a flare up. We've been given a booklet giving advise on what to eat, Brown bread, and all things high fibre. Must start supper - chicken, potatoes and Brussels!!!

Sorry Ann, didn't see your post there.
Sandra's tree is only about 2 foot tall with very small branches that don't hold a lot of weight. Pink is my favourite colour too, so I'm made up having it on the big tree. I can see it all day then. You should make a set of 6 baubles and sell them online I would buy them :-D :-D
Sorry to hear you've had a bad back, but pleased it's on the mend, there's nothing worse is there? especially if you have things to do that just can't wait.
Yes I did feel a bit like Cinderella, but unfortunately if I'd have left it I wouldn't of had time to finish everything else off in time for Christmas day and the way I felt earlier I couldn't of done the tree today anyway, I couldn't see properly with having a headache. I'm just plodding through all the washing at the moment as Sandra and OH decided to have baths too, but at least the machine does that for me, so not much for me to do LOL
Just watching the end of Cuffs I recorded the other day, then I'm going to watch a Christmas film with Sandra before I start dinner

Afternoon all,
The wind has really got up here and we have had some heavy rain ,i popped into Tesco this morning or some bits when i came out it was really coming down . I hung washing out first thing and it was having a good old blow but it then clouded up so i got it in good job i did too with this rain .
Liz that is good news you must both feel much happier now and looking forward to enjoying a good Christmas ,not so good that hubby now has Diverticulitis though but that's some thing that can be lived with .
Frank i wondered what the gammon would be like cooked in coke but i'am not brave enough to try it in case we don't like it cooked that way , you'll have to let me know how it turns out , do you think it will make it too sweet cooking it in coke then adding the sweet glaze too ? You need an apron when cooking then you won't get splashed !! hope your burns not to bad .
One egg Mel ,now who will eat it ? you'll have to share it :-D Tell OH to pull his finger out and get the tree in :-D Your doing the right thing going shopping early in the morning ,our Tesco's was really busy today and i bet tomorrow will be even worse .
Gill glad the headaches better , take it easy for the rest of the day you don't want to be poorly over christmas

I said it Frank, although this woman is having a break for the afternoon. :-D :-D I can hardly keep my eyes open, but if I sleep now I won't sleep very well tonight. The bath helped my headache, so that has gone now :-)
Sounds like you're busy Frank with your hams, I love ham and reading what you are doing is making my mouth water. I wish my OH could cook like you, Ros is so lucky ;-) ;-)
I'm so pleased for your OH Liz, you must both be so relieved just having to watch his diet. I'm glad the PSA results weren't as serious as you first thought, now you can relax and enjoy Christmas <3

Afternoon All,
After a lovely sunny morning it's really cold, rainy and windy now. :-S We were out early to Sainsbury's to get a lot of goodies in first thing. Then we went to Nuneaton and it wasn't as busy as I expected there. OH went one way and I another and I got a couple more cardigans in different colours to the others I got recently, some underwear and a nice card for OH. Then we were going to Lidl, but it was very busy so we'll do that early tomorrow or Wednesday. So we popped in Morrisons and had a cuppa and mince pie then came home. OH is now 'resting' (methinks he is sleeping really!).
I'm so glad you liked it Gill, I thought being mostly white it might suit your tree if it was too big for Sandra's. How tall is her little tree? What a game having to put all the baubles back on again. I think I would have given up if it was me! It's a shame you missed the party at your mum's. You should have gone instead of being like Cinderella, left at home. It sounds like you need to catch up on some sleep. Try drinking a glass of water for your banging head. I find that often helps.
Yes, we are quite relieved how content FIL seems at the moment. It sounds awful to say it, but to be honest, with his Alzheimers as it is, we think he is happier than he would have been without it and MIL gone as he doesn't seem to remember anything upsetting now and enjoys what each day brings. We just hope he will eventually slip away peacefully before he gets worse. The staff at the home take the residents that are mobile enough for walks round the village and the few shops there are and also twice weekly trips to a big garden centre. There's something to do every day, even chair aerobics! You can even go and have Christmas or New Year's day lunch there for a small charge which is nice, particularly for spouses or partners.
How nice to have a nice fresh egg Mel! Maybe the milder weather has helped. I noticed yesterday that there are yellow flecks that are rapeseed flowers coming out in some fields near here. They shouldn't be flowering till April! Yes, you are right about playing the footie game!! When I've had enough, I shall have to put a sticking plaster on my finger and say I have 'injuries' and can't play! lol.
The box you are making sounds lovely Fiona.
My back seems a lot better today after 2 days wearing the heat patches so I hope it's on the mend as I need to get some cleaning done.
Better pop out to the village now, we both fancy a pizza so I'd better get some!

Well I have boiled both Hams today. I though I would try the Coke one. When it boiled all the coke colour disappeared and just left a very sweet liquid. I hope it will be alright. I have made my glaze. A jar of fine cut marmalade a bottle of Squeeze Honey and dark sugar. I have boiled that, and will reheat it when I skin the hams. Then into the oven for half an hour or so, with the glaze on and baste as I go along. I have found two CAKE boxes with lids that I will put them in. Then into the outside fridge. I wanted to transfer some cooking liquid from one pot to the over, and used one of those basting bubble things with the glass tube. When I sucked it into the tube, all was fine. When I squirted the hot liquid into the other pan, it (the liquid) hit the ham and splashed all over by bare chest. Not wearing a top again. !!! I had to get a cold flannel and leave on my chest, where it had burnt.
Regarding Harvey, the ball is firmly in his court now. I have bent over as far as I am going too. From their attitude yesterday, I am not holding my breath. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros has been in the loft to get a suitcase for us to go to Devon. While up there she came across rolls of baby Christmas wrapping paper and ribbon. That will go to the Charity shop. It's a pity she didn't do it last week, as most people would have their wrapping paper by now.
What a funny old day we have had. Sunshine then HEAVY RAIN, Now clear sky's, but still very windy.
That was a lovely surprise Mel, an egg as late as this.
Hope you didn't get blown away this morning Fiona. Oh I just realised to were having a taxi ;-) ;-)
Time to shin the hams and get them glazed. Then I can sit down for an hour, before getting dinner. Who said a woman's work is never done !!!!

Well, we've done the colonoscopy this morning at 10pm, and the news is that OH has Diverticulitis! We couldn't have asked for better news, as there was obviously a problem. Treatment? none! Just have to watch his diet, to prevent a flare up. The PSA isn't as serious as we thought, and could easily be a laboratory error as it is so miniscule. If not, we have been assured that any slight problem is easily dealt with. Another test in about four weeks should make things clearer. So all in all much relief all round. Gill, you sound so busy all the time, you must get so tired.. Can't you leave certain jobs, or as Mel said ask Sandra to help you? I'm afraid I don't do anything like the chores I used to do years ago! I just can't be bothered any more. A quick hoover round, fill the dishwasher and washing machine when necessary make the bed, sweep the kitchen door and maybe put a cloth round the bathroom, and that's it for me!! Very windy here, and OH is having a sleep!! Must ring son, and daughter, after that, sleep for me too.

How wonderful Mel, to have another EGG, you're certainly doing well this year, do you think it's because the weather is so mild, unlike a normal December?
The rain has stopped here but the wind has got up quite a lot, hope it doesn't knock Sky off, it normally blows the dish out of line and we lose the signal, then poor OH has to go and put it back in place as he's the only one who can reach.
Baths done, so I'm going for my soak now, see you all later.

Your cards and present have just arrived Ann. We absolutely love the bauble, you are so clever. It must of took you ages to make. I've put it on the big tree as it's a bit to big and heavy for Sandra's little tree, it goes well with all the white decoration we already have on our snow tree and is in pride of place right in the front.
I've decided to take another painkiller and have a hot soak in a bath, see if that will help my headache. I was going to colour my hair today, but with having a bad head I've decided to do it tomorrow instead and just take it easy this afternoon.

O Fiona we will want to see a picture of it when its finished as it sounds lovely.
I am pleased your meal went off ok Frank at least now you have broken the ice perhaps things will get better between you now. Only one more day to go to your birthday. Perhaps you have a nice card from Lewis for your birthday.
Gill take a breather and get Sandra to give you a hand with some things. You need your rest so have a good lengthy sleep to recharge your batteries.
I had a lovely surprize this morning. The chickens are sleeping in their nest boxes at the moment with it being so windy so I usually look in them and clean out any deposits they have left me. I had'nt done this for the last 3 or 4 days with being busy so I did it today and when I opened the lid up there sitting in the woodshavings was as EGG on the shortest day!!!!!!. I was so delighted and now I must look in every day. In fact I must clean out the nest now and the house for Christmas then its done for another week. I did the banties the other day.
