Annx, I'd a former work colleague who was super fit. He was a runner. Ran 10 miles every evening, entered all the marathons and half marathons. He was younger than me. Died of skin cancer over a year ago.

Anyway, all the very best to you all, signing off for now.

The carols were fantastic, and the chapel just wonderful. I've done my nativity bit of christmas, so I I feel good about the secular bit.
What a nuisance your wife doesn't drive David, it must be very awkward particularly as you are unable to at the moment.
Time for Dads Army! It now ever fails to make us laugh!!.

Evening All,

Yes what a windy rainy morning here too! Our Christmas is being downsized by the minute! I went out this morning to get some flowers but saw how the price had shot up so decided to get some for New Year instead. I usually do a table decoration with flowers and some greenery from the garden, but I wasn't madly keen on getting the sodden greenery from the garden today anyway! While I was out I had a nice sit in the car at the edge of the park and watched a few soggy doggies charging about. When I got home OH had made a start on the hoovering but said the Dyson was making funny noises!! :-S We then spent half an hour dismantling bits off it and found loads of fluff crammed into some of the pipes and some of my beading thread fast on other bits. After we'd fished it all out and put it back together it was purring sweetly and doing a great job again.

Everything is ready now, veg done, bread sauce made, gammon done, Turkey in it's tin in the fridge. OH will get up early to put the Turkey in the oven and turn it down after half an hour. We do look a bit bare without the Christmas decs up, but OH seems to like it and hasn't missed shinning up and down the loft steps! He even said today that this Christmas it could be the blueprint for other Christmases!! :-0 lol.

I had some bad news from my old work friend today. She told me our other work friend we meet up with from time to time has had to have a mastectomy and is having chemotherapy but doesn't want anyone to know. She's the one that ran a marathon at age 40, then had her 3rd child, all whilst working full time. That's the second friend I've heard diagnosed with this in the last 6 months.

Frank that's really good your daughter remembered your birthday. :-) Better late than not at all! You mind we don't take you up on your offer of help!! lol. I bet JJ will remember your place after his last visit and it will be nice to have him around again. Well done Ros on losing 2 stone!! I managed to do that last spring then put it all back on when our routines went haywire when MIL became ill. She's done really well and will be needing a new wardrobe soon if she keeps it up Frank!!

Oh you poor thing Gill coming down with something now. Rest as much as you can and delegate where possible is what I would do. ;-) You getting better is most important.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too SparklingAnninGlos!! :-) :-)

Ruby your old house sounds like something from The Waltons with the covered porches.

The cats and Amy have the right idea for a rainy day Anne! :-)

Make sure you do send the samples off David, we get them sent to us every 3 years. :-) Yes, a car for 2016 would be good wouldn't it.......start making more enquiries.

I get a jigsaw every Christmas too. I didn't buy one this year as OH said I got a Thomas Kincade? one in the sales last January........I must get him to dig it out. I don't buy any others but most days I do an online one. :-)

Thank you Mandy, when QE send it I'm sure I will respond. I'd worry if I didn't.

I'd love to be behind the wheel again, but wouldn't want to be a liability. If I don't get another car, for whatever reason, I'd love Ellen to pass her driving test. She was learning to drive maybe 30 years ago then packed it in. With a license and a car she would no longer be dependent on me.

Ebenezer Scrooge says to Bob Cratchit, take this £50 and buy some sweets at corner shop. Bob Cratchit replies what kind should I get?

Scrooge replies, anything but bar humbug

You are ahead of me Mandy.I am just about to start on the Potatoes and Veg.Hannah is in the kitchen at the moment doing one of those Hedgehogs with Pineapple and cheese on cocktail sticks to take to her friends buffet later.Once she is gone I will get cracking .Chris will extend the dining table later and then I can get that set.
Hannah and I have done nearly all the edging of the puzzle ,but missing about 3 bits with straight edges so Chris now has the job of sorting through all the pieces to find them :-D.I felt I was going cross eyed lol. This is the only time of year we do a puzzle.
Enjoy yours Mandy :-D :-D.Ours is of St Pauls Cathedral and Ludgate Hill :-S(Chris's choice)

How is our Gill this afternoon? I hope you got to your Mum's Gill and are not now doing a load of baking !!!!!.

Wow Frank.Ros has done well losing 2 stone.Has she been trying hard? Have you a pair of braces she can use to keep her trousers up :-D)So it will will be all go in your household now then.JJ running riot?

Chris has found 2 straight bits of puzzle ..we still need to find just one more now to finish off the edging .
I hope all the little Children will be good tonight and go to sleep so that Father Christmas can deliver all their presents. He will be on his sleigh now zooming across the skies :-D :-D.....Don't forget to leave some goodies out for him and the Reindeer.
They will need lots of sustenance to keep them going through the night :-D :-D

Yes we've both done the 'sample' test, during the last year! Great for peace of mind. OH has had the full works though, so is doubly peaceful!!
Final bit of shopping this morning, and we're now cooking the Ham, with jackets and salad for supper, so nice and easy.
Gill, have you had your eyes tested? It could be that you need glasses for TV etc, which could explain your headaches and tiredness. I had this problem when I was your age, and it turned out that I was long sighted!! Once I had glasses everything was fine again.
OH has just put up some mistletoe, with a piece above our bed!! He can dream!!!!

Afternoon all,

We have had some heavy showers this afternoon but it's dry now.

Jane hubby was saying a few weeks back that we should do a nice jigsaw puzzle ,so i got him one for christmas ,i wrapped it up as soon as i bought and now i carn't remember what the picture was ,i looked at so many so it will be a surprise for me too when he unwraps it :-D

Make sure you do them David. It's worth it.

I hung on tight to my wig LOL Frank.I was the final customer of 2015.Everyone had a glass of wine and a shortbread. All the staff from the other salon in Geddington had arrived for drinks and the share out of Junior Tips :-D.I saw a lot of merry looking people with Xmas hats and Santa Outfits .The roads were heaving as I think many people will have left travelling until this afternoon as it is nice and dry now.The sun is so dangerously low in the sky it was very difficult at times to see properly when I was driving home.Next doors little dog was out running along the pavement as I pulled into our drive :-S :-S.But I did see him disappear into his own place.Hopefully he won't get out again.
Thomas has had a bird on the Patio and eaten it :-S Early Christmas dinner :-(

Merry Christmas to you too David.I hope 2016 will be an easier year for you.You must get a car !!!!!!

Merry Christmas Ruby <3

I will be back later ,but Hannah has just got the Puzzle out to start :-S..I am requested to assist :-S

I hope everyone's OK. I'm wishing you all a merry Christmas and happy 2016

They are going to sent me in the post the thing to send them 4 samples.
Apparently they can tell a lot from these.

Ruby Report 24 Dec 2015 12:35

I'll be there in a few minutes Frank :-D :-D

A very merry Christmas to you too SparklingAnn, and hope you have a fantastic New Year.

My grandson arrived in the early hours this morning. He works just outside of Atlanta, and left there as soon as he got off work to drive home. He had a kip on the sofa I'm afraid. I offered him to snuggle up with his nan, but he assured me he'd be quite comfy on the couch. I had already given my old bed away.

Gill, I am so sorry you are feeling so badly. Why do you push yourself so? It always helps me to make a list when I have a busy time ahead, and then I bake or prepare things for the freezer and mark them off the list as I go. It keeps my mind calmer. Do hope you feel better after a while.

David, did you figure out what was causing the pins and needles? I get a prickling sensation in my feet sometimes, but that is due to the neuropathy. I hope yours is for a good reason.

Anne, I hope you and your girls have a lovely time over Christmas. Do you play board games together?

I had a call from one of my grand daughters last night, thanking me for her present. She nurses at a hospital in Utah - a long way from home. She used to spend a lot of time with my OH and I when she was little, as did all the grand children. I miss those days dreadfully. We had the old house then. It was big and had covered porches all around. They would put on shows for us - wonderful memories.

It's all go here, but I'm just laying back and letting them all get on with it.

Wonderful news Frank, to have heard from your daughter. Perhaps she is making a big effort. I do hope it continues.

Mel, we don't have Christmas pud here, and I have never seen suet in the stores either. Have been tempted to try to make one using another kind of fat, but afraid it wouldn't taste like pud should :-D :-D

Great grandson has just arrived, so the house will soon he hopping.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.

Morning all

What a filthy day.Rain Rain and more rain.I hope it stops by the time I come out of the hairdressers .My appointment is 1.45.

Gill I really think you have been doing far too much these last couple of months. You need to ease up a bit and try and slow down.Buying the Apple Pie sounds the perfect idea.I would get anything else too so you won't need to do any baking at all ..I'm sure no-one will mind .OH and Sandra would much pefer to have you feeling well.

Frank that was a nice surprise to get the Birthday Email from your daughter(even if a little late). The main thing is she made contact :-D

I will pass on scrubbing you back today .I've just done my nails :-D

Anne,Thomas is in and fast asleep too just like your 3 and Amy LOL.I think the cats just know when it is raining .Thomas hasn't even bothered to try and go outside.

My Ham is in cooking too .Just another 30 minutes to go :-D.

Mel you are very late doing your cake !!!!! Are the Sausages still good to cook after being left out all night..Don't want any upset tummies :-S

It is still raining BUT the sky is definitely looking brighter over yonder. :-D :-D

David you Pins and Needles sounds like it will be to do with Nerves.

I am being chased up here to start putting out some Xmas Nuts and Sweets etc..So I better go and get a move on.

I'll be back after the hairdressers later this afternoon.

Morning my little flowers Evening Kim,

What a drab old day. The wind and rain are back, and it's almost dark,

Gill it sounds like whatever you had is back again. Do try to get some medication for it, or it could spoil your Christmas.

Anne, I didn't have that problem with girls of 16, I had left home years before that stage in my daughter's like.

When I opened my emails last night there was one from my daughter timed 10.51pm 22nd. " Sorry it's late but Happy birthday" first time in many years to have received contact. !!!

I expect you girls are going to be very busy today, getting everything prepared. If you need any help, I am available for a LARGE FEE :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3 and transport. lol

We watched the programme on John Lewis. My, it does open your eyes to see what goes on behind the scenes

Ros has popped to Tesco for a few bits she wants to take to Devon. Then that's finished for us, just sit around a wait for JJ to arrive. Conrad and Jan are calling in on their was to Kerry's dome time this afternoon.

Time for my shower. (any volunteer to scrub my back) lol lol

Morning from a very wet and windy Berkshire again :-| :-|

Gill you really should try and take it easy today, I know its easier said than done but your health must come first.

Jean the wife of Peter's youngest brother rang me yesterday she sounded dreadful and has tonsillitis and bronchitis she is now taking antibiotics, hope she feels better today as she has her two sons and their families coming to Christmas dinner.

Abbie and Becky are still in bed, Abbie's boyfriend is working today, he is only 17 and gets £3.00 an hour!! So no phone calls yet.

The three cats and Amy are all fast asleep. I think the rain has stopped them from going out. I have to pop next door later to give Luke and Zoe their presents. The ham is in the oven and I'm just about to start on the Veg.

Hope you all have a good day with not too many aches and pains

Morning all

Dull day here today

I've woken up feeling awful, I've got a sore throat and a cough and the horrible headache that keeps bothering me lately and I can't believe how tired I feel. I've got no energy at all.

I've decided to go to a shop I know a few miles away to buy the apple pie, as I don't feel up to baking it myself, I forgot all about it until yesterday, they make home made ones and they taste lovely, then we're off to mum's for lunch. I think I might go back to bed this afternoon if I still feel as bad as I do now. I could do with doing nothing today, but being Christmas eve I don't have that choice. I think I've over done things, but if I can get through today and cook the turkey tomorrow then I should be able to rest after that and get better.

Hope everyone is ok, I'll try and get back on here later if I can <3

Morning all and evening Kim,

Windy, dull and miserable today, dark and dingey. I'll say no more.

Turkey is out of the freezer where it has been residing for the last three weeks.

Just having a nice COT and then I shall start feeding oh and then the chickens.

Have to go round to my little boys today and drop off their pressies.

So lots to do today.

I got sausages out for dinner last night and then we had a salad instead as I was fed up with the cooker after yesterdays baking. Lefty them on the side in the kitchen and forgot to put them in the fridge.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 23 Dec 2015 23:31

This is the first time I have had a minuet today.

Mandy I beat you with the sausage rolls as I made 28 so four more than you. We had a couple with our afternoon cuppa and a mince pie each. I made 11 of those and ran out of flour!! I still hav etohe cake to cook tomorrow as its been soaking all day.

O Ann what a thing to get on the new car carpets Eu De Cowpat!! love it but I bet you did'nt.

Glad Colin got the results Mandy and hope the meds help with the pain till his op.
I never heard anything from Di today but her oh said she said she could'nt work out why I had texted her so I think she must have gone to her sisters and got our numbers mixed up as she lives in Torrington.

Anne have a nice time with those grandchildren. It will be nice to see their faces when they get their presents.

Frank it sounds like you had a really good birthday and an unexpected surprise cake and bubbly, how nice of the publican to do that for you. Gl;ad the concert went off ok and was well attended.

The winds got up a bit here now and its turned cold.

Well signing out now and going to do up the last few pressies for oh now he's in bed. Just some little bits for the tree.

Went down the shop for some prunes today and was supposed to get the scripts and completely forgot so I hope they are open tomorrow.

Night night all hope to see you in the morning.
