Morning all,
Dull and miserable here today but we hav'nt that very strong wind we had yesterday. It nearly blew me over out the back whilst doing the hens but it made me laugh because the hens were out!! I come out of there with platform boots on it is so sticky and muddy.
I do so feel for those poor people who are flooded out again. If its not one part of the country its another. There is nothing they can do about it, no insurance not a chance of selling and moving elsewhere and losing most of their lives treasures as well. God bless them.
I saved one of aunty Joy's presents till last yesterday. Oh had gone to bed and when I looked on the label it said "I hope you love this, I did" when I opened it it was a little ornament of Howard the baby hedgehog from the Hedgies series. He's lovely and sitting on my desk on his leaves holding his dummy.
We had a picky tea last night, the last of the pigs in blankets, stuffing balls for oh pickles turkey and other bits too and not a lot of washing up.
must get on so see you later.
I hope Gill is ok as we still hav'nt heard from her. <3 <3

We're up to absolutely nothing today!!! Son rang last night to have a chat, I think it's just to check that we're ok!! I can remember doing that with my parents all those years ago!!!! Been raining here, but pretty calm and dry at the moment, and still very warm!! OH is making a casserole for supper tonight, it'll be nice to have ordinary food today. Should get a decent walk later if the weather holds!

Evening All,
The winds got up here now but at least there's been no rain after the downpour last night. Those poor people getting more flooding again!!
I decided to go to the sales at the Grantham retail outlet this morning. It had only been open 20 minutes when I got there, but the huge carpark was nearly full already so I parked at the back near the garden centre. Instead of the usual 50% reduction on all the Christmas decs, this year they'd cleared away all the better things so it was nearly bare with just the less nice things left. :-S I did get some half price Hush Puppies for £27, a black thin top with different sized stars on it for £5 ( was £38), 4 pairs black socks with welts that don't cut the circulation off for £3.76 and 2 bras. :-) OH was at a local footie match and saw some of his old pals.
I've decided to do the same as some of you on here next year and get a Turkey crown instead of a whole bird from the farm. I've frozen a lot of our bird now but it does take time to do it and is a bit of a chore! It also takes up a whole shelf of the fridge. I'm all for making less work to do! :-) All the food we have in the fridge yet I noticed OH had had chicken soup before he went to the match!! lol. He's having Turkey sandwiches and pork pie now. Neither of us are eating much this Christmas.
Better go now as he wants to start watching The Farmer's Llamas!!

It is incredibly sad to see on TV and in the papers the damage being done by all the rain, rivers busting their banks... but how much more sad when its up the wall flowing through your house. No matter how many millions they spend trying to remedy it, it will never be the same again for those residents. The possibility of it recurring would ever be in their minds, and could you insure them? if you couldn't, could you sell them? I saw a picture of a 200 year old pub on a bridge falling down, dreadful :-S : :-(

Hope Frank and Ros had a safe journey ,i should think the roads were fairly quiet today except for people going to the sales.
Poor people with all the flooding again and even more rain is forecast.

We have just had a late lunch, only cold turkey, ham, jacket potatoes and pickles, there was salad as well but nobody wanted it. The turkey was a fresh crown ready basted from Sainsbury not cheap but well worth it as it was the best one we have had.
Richard and Paul are off to ice hockey later so it will be very quiet for a while here.
I hope everyone has another good day today and Gill is feeling better than she did and Frank and Ros have a good safe journey.

We're on cold ham and salad today as too much rich food makes us both feel a bit yuk!! Tomorrow we shall have a roast dinner, and after that, back to normal!! Weather not too bad here, windy, but no rain - yet!! Glad everyone had a good day yesterday - makes all the effort worthwhile!!

Morning all,
Nice bright morning here with a little sun but a bit windy .
Sounds as if everyone had a good day yesterday ,we are having a nice lazy day today ,the family called in on their way to DIL's parents the little ones are still excited .
Today we are having bubble and squeak with Gammon and Turkey and of course some pickles . I cooked two small turkey Crowns and we have the side of one left ,it was so much easier than cooking a big Turkey as they cook so much quicker so i will certainly be doing them again , it freed the oven up too for cooking the other bits and bobs .
I think it would have been a nice day for having a walk along the beach as it's still mild .
No Gill ,i hope she's not still poorly .

Had a really fab day yesterday. Daughter cooked a fantastic Christmas dinner for seven of us! (Thank goodness for her dishwasher, and her very her helpful chap!!). It all went so well, the table beautifully decorated, and the tree looking absolutely wonderful. She is a very good cook and excellent needlewoman, altering and making clothes, her curtains, and even upholstery, bit like your Ros Frank!! Little boy loved his watch, it was exactly what he wanted, so that was good. After lunch we went to see their new pony, and to have a walk round his field. Today we are having a quiet day reading and snoozing!!

Morning all. evening kim,
Well another day over. We arrived at Kerry's about 11.30 am They were still eating Breakfast, and rthere seemed to be a lot of things needing doing. I offered to do the vwg etc, but was told it was all under control. Dinner was to be about 2.30 pm. It ended up at 6.00. So by the time dinner was over, nobody wanted and nibbles ans salad or MY HAM at supper time.
We left about 11.00 pm and had a ham sandwich before going to bed.
Tony was just coming out of our house after letter JJ out for a wee and a play. So JJ was full of play when we gor it. Tracey had taken him for two walks during the day, so he was well catered for.
We are basiccaly all ready to leave, and just waiting for a phone call from Conrad to say when he is leaving Kerry's.
Looks like you all had a nice day yesterday, I do hope you all get what you wanted from Father Christmas, especially the children.
Hope you all have a nice weekend, Not sure when we will be back, but in time to go to Tenerife. :-P :-P :-P :-P <3 <3 <3 <3

Morning All.
Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday , OH working from 7am -5pm and Katherine working till ?, Victoria working till ?, Daniele looking after the grandchildren , so I'm looking forward to a quiet day, all I have to do is keep filling up the dishwasher with pots & pans from yesterday, I was too tired to do anything last night when the family all went home. But must remember to go up to Katherines house and take Kaih a walk then drop her back and come home, Kaih was hard work yesterday, she is terrified of the crakers being pulled and doesn't like it when Matteo & Sofia are running about, crawled under the Christmas tree twice, I thought it might fallen over at one point, she is really missing Jake,
Well better go and do some tiding up, :-D :-D

What a little darling Katie is Mandy, what she said brought a lump to my throat! It was Katie that said she would show Nanny how to use her new tablet wasn't it?
That sounded lovely Mel!! :-D I like your additions to the stuffing. I've always liked a gravy with wine in especially at Christmas so a glass of the alcohol free went in it with some garlic as usual. I always sprinkle either sage or mixed herbs on the roast potatoes as well and the bread sauce has to have a chopped onion in for me. We all have our favourite ways with things don't we. We didn't have any breakfast, just our lunch, no pudding and just a few chocs this afternoon. There's plenty to have but we couldn't manage any more. Our Turkey was tasty, but not as crumbly as usual this time. I noticed the farmer had white turkeys this year instead of the bronze ones he usually has so maybe that makes a difference.
