Here I am Frank. After the dentist we went and did a shop at Lidl and then came home had a scotch egg each and oh went off to Holsworthy for some electric fencing stuff for the ponds. He spent all the daylight hours left setting it up and I took down all the Christmas decs while he was out which only left the tree which is now stripped and everywhere looks extremly bare and dull and dreary.

We did have sunshine most of the day wiith only a couple of showers. Once whilst i was in the dentist chair and the assistant said look at the rainbow. I was raining out the back of the room we were in and not out the front but thats whee the rainbow was. I asked her if it was a double one? She looked further out and said yes it was so I told her that was the reflection and should be round the other way in the colour spectrum. She did'nt know that so she learnt something today.O I have just noticed I hav'nt removed the tablecloth and its red with holly leaves on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must do iot now.......... :-0 :-0

Got that wrong, the matches are next Tuesdat 12th. Tonight it's L'pool V Stoke.

While we were away we must have had extra strong winds, as one of our LARGE Haanging Baskets has been riped from the Garage wall. I know when I put it up last year, I thought that will never come down !!! It has crushed our Strawberry stack. and spread earth all over the patio, and broken the hedgehog house.

Ros has decided to clear up out there, and is repotting the strawberry plants, one of which has a baby strawberry growing on it. <3 <3 <3

Rice pudding is in the botom of the oven, so will keep an eye on it.

Darkness beginning to gather and the rain clouds, but it is so mild 9 degrees at the moment, Ros only has a light top on, hope she doesn't catch a chill.

Liz, As I said when I first married Oct 59, I was in the RAF.Two months later was my 21st On the actual day I baby sat for my Comanding Officer.. They treated me so well, left me a nice steak dinner for me to cook and a Crate of beer. When I came home for Christmas I expected some sort of celebration. But nothing. BUT the MIL was doing loads of cooking and sandwhich making for her sister, who lived round the corner. That evening I went out for a drink with my new wife, She said we should call in at Aunt Rose's to wish her a MERRY CHRISTMAS. When we went in, all my family were there, excluding my MOTHER to celebrate my 21st.

My friends daughter who lives in America has just got the most beautiful puppy. It's a Shite shue. (SP) I have ask her to get him crated up and sent over, as Ros have fallen in love with him !!!!! <3 <3 <3 I can see there is likely to be an addition to our family anytime soon. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Very mild here I am in tracky bottoms and T shirt.

Shin of beef in the oven in a nice gravy ticking along on a low heat for dinner tonight. I have done Swede and carrot for mash, Parsnips, greens and mashed potato. I will pop a rice pudding in the bottom of the over later. That should keep Ros happy as she loves Rice Pudding.

Where is everyone. OUT SPENDING in the SALES.

West Ham play Bournemouth tonight, not sure if it's on Tele, will have to check, if it is, I might go down the pub tonight, providing that match is shown, as Man. Utd are playing also. There are more Man Utd supporters than West Ham, so the majority will prevale no doubt.

I can remember my 30th birthday Frank! OH organised a surprise party for me! I was convinced no one had bothered and was feeling really fed up when a load of our friends appeared with balloons and decorations! Food appeared from nowhere, and we had such a lovely evening. I've always remembered it!! ( children were in bed, they were in those days!!)
Time to play with Cas!!

Frank Report 5 Jan 2016 11:16

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim,

It must be my bed I like so much, I slept from Midnight till 8.00. popped to the loo and got back in bed till 9.39..

I've had a nice sausage sandwich with brown sauce. Two large COT.

Yesterday afternoon Ros was wrapping Something to go in the garage on the kitchen unit and KNOCKED over my Yorkshire pudding mix. It went everywhere, so we ended up with no pudding !!!

Liz I would have been married 56 years this year. had I not divorced. As it is, our anniversary in June will be 38 years married, and still going STRONG. My first marriage was while I was in the RAF, so my then Wife stayed with her parents, Once I was demobed (1960)we bought our first house £1,685.00 in a village near Southend on Sea. When my daughter came along in 1964. It became more and more difficult to manage on one income. So we sold up £4,500.00 and moved to Northants. Jane knows my old house at the top of her road.

Heard from J & C last night. They had just come down from the sun terrace (6.30 pm) and the Temp. was 24 degrees. We of course were sitting in the dark outside with Temp around 10 degrees.

Ros has just washed her hair and Bleeched it. The bathroom stinks, I had to put the extractor on and open a window. She said it was good if you have a cold, it will clear your head. My reply was "I HAVEN'T GOT A COLD" silly bugg## :-D :-D :-D

Very calm sort of morning here, no wind but very overcast.

What are everyones plans for today. Mine will be to do nothing, as after lugging everything around yesterday my backis not good. How I wish we still had a bath, a good soak would be heaven ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

We were married 52 years ago on 1st Feb, a week after my 21st birthday!! For the first five years we rented, then we bought our first house in 1969. It was a very pretty but tiny cottage without a bathroom!! we had an outside loo, (flushing!!) a tin bath on the floor of the kitchen, and bathed the two little ones in the kitchen sink!! We eventually had a bathroom built on the back, and I can remember living in complete chaos for a few weeks. We got a partiall grant for the work to be done along with having a chemical damp proof course put in. It was one of the happiest times of our lives, we all loved it there, probably because although it was a bit basic, it was ours, and I can remember us both feeling a great sense of achievement. In 1971 we regretfully had to buy somewhere bigger as two youngsters in what was virtually a box room was just too small! Our second home was a snachback and had been empty for months and needed a lot of work done to it. It too was an old cottage with a lovely big garden, which was like the jungle when we first moved in. Like you Ann, we had very little money, but lots of enthusiasm, and over time turned it into a proper home which we lived in for the next twenty odd years, till we moved to Somerset in 1992.
Slightly better morning here, at least OH got a dry walk!!

I watch War and Peace yesterday too. thought the same about how they are going to get it all into 6 episodes but perhaps they will do another series. Who can tell?

Anne I hope the situation can be sorted out without any trouble.

I'm dusty here too and shall have a good go through as soon as the decs are down and put away. Oh hoovered for me today before Di came so that was a help.

Signing out now so see you later tomorrow after the dentist and shopping.

When Paul Collected Abbie from school, she seemed quite happy, I think the message from me that I would call the police if his behaviour persisted hopefully put an end to it , he is at the very least a bully , Sue her mother has kept well out of the way when Paul called round. Abbie is also going to tell Jessie her cousin who she looks up to,she's 19 and the daughter of Sue's eldest sister, Jessie tells her Mum everything so that will go back to Sue's parents and her brothers.

Paul has gone back home now so its just Richard and myself now,

Crikey it's deep water as well at the reserve isn't it Jane. I was amused to see the ducks that would be quite happy in the water decided they preferred the gate!! lol. :-) I can't believe it will be James' 30th, where does the time go. I was trying to think back to what I was doing when I was aged 30. We'd moved into our second house a couple of months before, a chalet bungalow that an old man of 87 lived in and built for his retirement in the garden of his bigger previous house. It needed completely gutting and the garden was all overgrown with hedges all round, front and back and one 5 foot wide. The big garage was timber with a sagging roof. We did most of the work ourselves as we hadn't much money, but I can't imagine now how we found time to do it all and both work full time as well.

Mandy I still feel worried about the little dog as I thought it must be hungry to be brave enough to keep trying to get back to the road kill in the road. I will go and see if it's still around tomorrow as it's only a few miles away. OH said if I managed to catch it I wouldn't want it messing up my new car with all the mud on it, so I told him it was tiny enough to pop in the boot which is covered in my old car mats now. :-) I could then take it to the dog's home near us.

We are still dusty everywhere so I really must start some cleaning tomorrow even if I only do a couple of rooms. The washing is piling up too. :-S

Jane

Jane Report 4 Jan 2016 18:45

Mandy I won't be putting tinsel on that window sill again next year !!!!!!. Chris has chopped up our tree and got it in the recycling bin.I am so pleased now that I can't smell that very strong pine smell.I think it was making me feel quite ill :-S
Yes it all looks pretty bare here too.I will have a good dust tomorrow if we aren't too late getting back from M K.If not tomorrow it will be on Wednesday :-D.No -one will see it so I am not bothered lol

Ann ,hopefully the little dog is safe.I would be worried sick about it.But like your OH Chris would have said someone else would catch it ! :-S..The thing is what would you have done had you caught it ????.
Fingers crossed it is safe at its home now.

The reserve the Larry works on is meant to be flooded (if the river over flows) but it is pretty drastic !!!!!!!..That gate in the pic is a 5 Bar Gate leading into the reserve from the car park !

Just had a look at the ducks too. There's a lot of water about everywhere. I just wish those that have far too much get some dry wether soon so the waters can go down a bit for them.

Evening all,

We saw the sun this morning and then it clouded over ,i really thought we we're in for some rain as the clouds were so black.
All decs put away that i can put away there's just the christmas tree in the box to go upstairs in the cupboard but that's to heavy for me and hubby carn't do it so it will have to stand in the hall until son can get it up the stairs for us.
Every where was so dusty and glittery and now it looks so bare every where even with things back out that had been put away .

Oh goodness Jane i had the colour come out of some tinsel last year that i laid on the tiled conservatory window sills the colour went on the plastic window frame as well as the tiles ,it took some shifting i think i tried Ciff and then a mild solution of bleach ,it was because we had some condensation on the windows which ran down onto the sills were the tinsel was, i didn't lay any there this year .

I was going to ask too Gill if Sandra has any little lights in her room through the year ,you can get some pretty ones with feathers and flowers and all sorts they'd look nice round the bedhead or round a mirror .
Have you got any second hand shops near you that you could get a little table for your sewing machine from ? you wouldn't want a very big one would you .

Oh Ann i hope the little Jack Russell was all right it must have been hungry if he was after the road kill .

So it's back to head chef for you then Frank , How did the Ham go down that you cooked in Coke ? did everyone like it ?

Nice photo of the ducks sitting on the gate Jane not nice to see that much water though .

Gill I used to use mums card table to put the machine on. It is one of those that has legs that fold into the top so you can store it. Mum used it for her jigsaws.

The 5th is twelfth night and thats tomorrow.
TWELFTH NIGHT is the Eve of Epiphany, Epiphany being January 6. The early Christian Church had no festival of Christ's birth.

I have the dentist in the morning and then we will go to Lidl afterwards.

Di did'nt have any gossip today but she did tell me someone in the village died a couple of days ago and he was only our age.
