Here I am Frank. After the dentist we went and did a shop at Lidl and then came home had a scotch egg each and oh went off to Holsworthy for some electric fencing stuff for the ponds. He spent all the daylight hours left setting it up and I took down all the Christmas decs while he was out which only left the tree which is now stripped and everywhere looks extremly bare and dull and dreary. |

Liz, As I said when I first married Oct 59, I was in the RAF.Two months later was my 21st On the actual day I baby sat for my Comanding Officer.. They treated me so well, left me a nice steak dinner for me to cook and a Crate of beer. When I came home for Christmas I expected some sort of celebration. But nothing. BUT the MIL was doing loads of cooking and sandwhich making for her sister, who lived round the corner. That evening I went out for a drink with my new wife, She said we should call in at Aunt Rose's to wish her a MERRY CHRISTMAS. When we went in, all my family were there, excluding my MOTHER to celebrate my 21st. |

I can remember my 30th birthday Frank! OH organised a surprise party for me! I was convinced no one had bothered and was feeling really fed up when a load of our friends appeared with balloons and decorations! Food appeared from nowhere, and we had such a lovely evening. I've always remembered it!! ( children were in bed, they were in those days!!) |

We were married 52 years ago on 1st Feb, a week after my 21st birthday!! For the first five years we rented, then we bought our first house in 1969. It was a very pretty but tiny cottage without a bathroom!! we had an outside loo, (flushing!!) a tin bath on the floor of the kitchen, and bathed the two little ones in the kitchen sink!! We eventually had a bathroom built on the back, and I can remember living in complete chaos for a few weeks. We got a partiall grant for the work to be done along with having a chemical damp proof course put in. It was one of the happiest times of our lives, we all loved it there, probably because although it was a bit basic, it was ours, and I can remember us both feeling a great sense of achievement. In 1971 we regretfully had to buy somewhere bigger as two youngsters in what was virtually a box room was just too small! Our second home was a snachback and had been empty for months and needed a lot of work done to it. It too was an old cottage with a lovely big garden, which was like the jungle when we first moved in. Like you Ann, we had very little money, but lots of enthusiasm, and over time turned it into a proper home which we lived in for the next twenty odd years, till we moved to Somerset in 1992. |

When Paul Collected Abbie from school, she seemed quite happy, I think the message from me that I would call the police if his behaviour persisted hopefully put an end to it , he is at the very least a bully , Sue her mother has kept well out of the way when Paul called round. Abbie is also going to tell Jessie her cousin who she looks up to,she's 19 and the daughter of Sue's eldest sister, Jessie tells her Mum everything so that will go back to Sue's parents and her brothers. |

Crikey it's deep water as well at the reserve isn't it Jane. I was amused to see the ducks that would be quite happy in the water decided they preferred the gate!! lol. :-) I can't believe it will be James' 30th, where does the time go. I was trying to think back to what I was doing when I was aged 30. We'd moved into our second house a couple of months before, a chalet bungalow that an old man of 87 lived in and built for his retirement in the garden of his bigger previous house. It needed completely gutting and the garden was all overgrown with hedges all round, front and back and one 5 foot wide. The big garage was timber with a sagging roof. We did most of the work ourselves as we hadn't much money, but I can't imagine now how we found time to do it all and both work full time as well. |

Just had a look at the ducks too. There's a lot of water about everywhere. I just wish those that have far too much get some dry wether soon so the waters can go down a bit for them. |

Gill I used to use mums card table to put the machine on. It is one of those that has legs that fold into the top so you can store it. Mum used it for her jigsaws. |
