Who knows Mel what GR will do, I guess, like most things, it's all down to money at the end of the day. I haven't had a reply as to why I'm constantly having to sign in, so I shall leave it to see what happens, and try again if necessary! The dreaded error page has been alive and well, so all in all not a particularly efficient way of carrying on! We have fish tonight (Bass),and rice. It's from Waitrose so should be nice. OH is ordering some bits and bobs on Amazon, so better pay attention to what he's trying to tell me!!!! Tried to post this and up came the error page. FGS, what on earth is going on here!

The site has been slow for me since Christmas and I do get the dreaded Error page too sometimes. I thought that maybe the Christmas baubles on the logo had caused the trouble as we had that last year too. I do hope they don't close this site as it is a lifeline to all of us on here and Ancestry seems to have lost my tree and the only other tree info I have is on here.
We had a leaky pipe for a long while. I have been telling oh for over a good year and today he did something about it. It was in the same place as before when mum was alive and I think the same repair. He has done it now by putting a longer peice of pipe in. The plumbing in this house is appauling.

Afternoon all,
I sat watching the Hairy Bikers at lunchtime, and they made Welsh Rabbit. It got my taste buds going, so I made myself Cheese on toast. Not as the way they did it. But it was very tasty..
Easy meal tonight. Scampi and Chips with Tartar sauce. It's been so long since we have it.
Our Dishwasher dosen't get used every day. I tend to wash up as I go along, it seems so easy. It would take a couple of days to fill it. Sometimes on Sunday evening I will put everything it, and give us a break.
The Machine (sewing) is still whirling away. She is making some very pretty covers for the children.
I trust the car is all sorted now Jane, and from now it will be trouble free.
Yes Gill, they were around early today. Too early for me after such a late time going to sleep. I'm ready for forty winks now, but will try not to.
Liz, I have been having trouble signing in also. Ebay is just the same, and all the items are showing in $$$. I must have words with them over this.

Has anyone else read the slightly perplexing posts regarding the.future of GR? FR is being closed at the end of the month, and the whisper seems to be that eventually GR may be incorporated into FMP, which is also run by the GR team. Gives a bit of food for thought?!

Afternoon all,
Well i didn't see the planets either ,we didn't wake up until 8-15 !! there will be plenty of other chances to see them as i think they will be all lined up until about the 20th Feb I looked out in the night when i woke and the fog was so thick and every where so white ,it feels really raw today ,we just nipped out to Tesco for some bread and milk and the local paper ,it should be a very wet day tomorrow so getting the bits today will save having to go out tomorrow .
Hubby doesn't keep his barrows in the shed ,if he did they would fill the shed !! like Frank he just tips them up so the water doesn't lay in them.
Chunky Cod fillets for us tonight ,don't think we'll have chips ,i think it will be nice creamy mash and peas .

Have been so fed up at constantly having to sign in that I have finally complained! We shall see!!! Anne, I'm like you, I would be very lost without my dishwasher! It's only a slimline, but worth its weight in gold!! and is in the utility room along with the washing machine and dryer, (and dog!!) I still do a big shop, but OH always comes with me to help with the donkey work!! If I was on my own, I would do it on line as there's no way I would want to do all that pushing and lifting by myself! Much warmer here today and he sun is trying to come out. Glad you've booked your flights Frank - a good price too! We're looking to go to France for a few days in Sept, so are beginning to look for deals!! OH has called out that lunch is ready!!

Good morning all
It's not quite so cold here today although the bottom pond still has some ice on it .Sainsbury's delivery came at 8.15 am so it was all put away earlier there is no way I would want to do a main shop myself now .I also wouldn't be without a dishwasher in our last house there wasn't the place for one so when we moved here in 1988 we had our 1st one, this house has a utility room so all the white goods are in there.
I hope your car will be sorted soon Jane, I remember when we bought a brand new Astra the air conditioning went wrong within months, of course it was fixed free of charge but still very annoying.
Amy had her walk earlier than usual so she is worrying me for her dinner now. I usually feed her at 12.15 while I watch Bargain Hunt in the kitchen.
It wasn't a clear sky here last night so the planets couldn't be seen unfortunately.

Five planets paraded across the dawn sky early Wednesday in a rare celestial spectacle set to repeat every morning until late next month.
Headlining the planetary performance are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. It is the first time in more than a decade that the fab five are simultaneously visible to the naked eye, according to Jason Kendall, who is on the board of the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York.
Admission to the daily show is free, though stargazers in the Northern Hemisphere should plan to get up about 45 minutes before sunrise to catch it. City dwellers can stay in their neighborhoods to watch, as long as they point their attention to the east, according to Mr. Kendall, who took his telescope to Inwood Hill Park in Manhattan around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Kendall said he immediately saw Jupiter, Mars and Saturn after looking into the crystal clear sky. Venus glowed as bright as an airplane against the darkness when it rose. Aided by his telescope, he also saw Jupiter’s moons and Saturn’s rings.

Morning Frank
Yes you should of come on here, it was quite lively in the wee small hours :-D :-D
Sandra and I have finally watched Eastenders on catch up, so she's happy and ready for the next episode tonight.
We're just grabbing a sandwich then I'm going to mop the floors and catch up with Jericho and Mr Selfridge, that's if I don't fall asleep, I'm so tired with only having a few hours sleep last night.
We didn't see the planets either Frank. It was to cloudy and far to cold to be outside anyway. Everywhere was covered in frost this morning.
Well, I'd better go and eat my sandwich now See you all later

Morning you early birds,
Dull day here today and last night it was a bit cloudy. Oh said something about the planets yesterday when I mentioned it but I can't remember what he said now but I think it will happen over a few days or something like that.
Had a small message from Kim as I sent her the pics too.

My word you are early birds today. Good Morning all, Evening Kim,
I should have come on line at 2.30 am we could have chatted.
We went down to see the football, and was home before 10.00 pm I was in bed by 11.15 and still awake at 2.45 am. My brain just wouldn't shut down, Ros came in about 1.15. When I was just thinking of getting up. I laid there in bed and the things that go through your mind is incrediable. From Childhood to recent times. !!!
Jane, that faulty boot lock should have been picked up on the P.D.I. (Pre delivery inspection) someone wasn't doing his job properly. Keep your eyes on anything else.
Ros made two more blankets while I was out last night. They look smashing.
Gill I have never kept my wheelbarrow in the shed. It just stands up beside the shed with the handles resting on the shed.
I think these councils need to think a bit more before charging to take large things to the tip. There is enough "FLY TIPPING" in field gateways and quiet spots as it is. It will surely increase with charges.
Washing next door is still out ;-) ;-) ;-)
I was not awake to see the planets, anyway it would have been far to foggy.
No plans to do anything today, just sit with my book and a bit of Nat Geo later in the day.
Trust you are all well, and not to many aches and pains. See you later.

EastEnders was never one of my favourites, never been the same since Angie and Dorty Dick.
But I've watched it recently and see the street's hard mam's on the sauce. :-S

Morning
I got up early to take a look at the planets and it's far to cloudy to see anything. I'm so disappointed :-( :-( and it was freezing, so I've come in to have a cuppa.
I see you've tried looking to Jane. I'm still tired so might end up having a little sleep later. OH is going to the tip in a minute then it's off to mum's before he goes into work for his course. I didn't get a chance to mop the kitchen and bathroom floors yesterday so that's today's job and then I'll catch up with Jericho and Mr Selfridge and of course Eastenders, online with Sandra.
What is everyone else up to today?

Morning Jane, telephone the dealer who sold you the car and express your disapproval. They were pleased to take your business. The car should be faultless.

I couldn't even get a slim line dishwasher Jane, there's no where to put it and putting one on the worktop wouldn't work either as there isn't any space there. Looks like I might have to keep washing the dishes myself. To be fair Sandra washes the dishes too and like I said we don't have many dishes with there only being the two of us most of the time.
The blinds have just gone back up. It's only a 2 foot wide window with vertical blinds so quite small and fits in the bath perfectly, well, almost they are a bit long but it's not a problem once the water goes into the bath as they float anyway. They smell really nice after soaking them in fabric conditioner for a few hours and the smell of bleach has finally gone too.
Thanks for mentioning the planets Mandy I completely forgot about it. We were getting up early in the morning anyway so we're just getting up half an hour earlier than we were going to so we can see them, that's if it's not cloudy. OH was suppose to be off work tomorrow but he has to go in for a course, so he's having to go to the tip at 7.30 in the morning then come back here to pick up the freezer to take to my mum's for around 8.15, he needs to clear a space in mum's garage though as she hadn't got round to doing it for us, but hopefully everything will be finished before he has to be in work at 9am. He finishes as 3pm so we'll go shopping around 3.15. He's going to be tired after all he has to do and probably feeling like I do......Shattered.
Off to bed now, see you all tomorrow Night NIght

Oh dear Jane, it sounds like the catch isn't properly adjusted!! :-S Hopefully it will be ok this time when it is fixed. I doubt it will be a problem like your old car was.
Thanks for all the pics Mel. I like your drawings and paintings, you should take it up again. :-) The deer look lovely in your garden and the pond is a lot deeper now I see.
Mandy I would be lost without my dishwasher now. We just rinse our mugs during the day as well and we still wash and dry measuring jugs and some pans unless the dishwasher is nearly full and will be on straightaway. My first one at my last house was a slimline one and it was still a boon!! <3 <3
Gill you have been busy getting all those things done! At least your place is all spruced up ready for the viewing now.
Oh oh he's calling me to watch something we recorded........so it's night night from me!!

Freezing here now i just looked out and the car roof is white .
It does seem strange to have to wash every thing up after having the dish washer do it for me ,even with only the two of us we still seem to have a full dish washer by the evening ,the top is usually full of mugs especially when the family come . I do hand wash some things when i'm cooking though.
I fancy some chocolate tonight ,there's a box of Black Magic from christmas calling out to me :-D
