Hi Frank didn't see you there.

Sorry to hear about your old boss. You're probably right, the drink won't have helped.

Yes Vera starts again on Sunday. (31st January) ITV 8pm to 10pm.
Sandra remembered that you all like it, as does she, so she mentioned it to me yesterday to pass on to you all today. I don't watch it, so Sandra records it in the other room for herself.

I read that the storm is coming over here from America but with the warm air that is coming up from the South it will only be rain, not snow. Sandra is a bit disappointed, but I think she's given up on us having any snow now Frank.

The only problem is we're going to get very heavy rain........so possible flooding and to top it all, the heavy rain is due on Tuesday night and Wednesday day time. I have a viewing on Wednesday, so I hope my garden doesn't flood or it won't look good to the potential buyers :-( :-(

Rosie's just been for her lunch......bless her <3

It's MONDAY Jane, all day :-D :-D :-D.

Did you have cucumber sandwiches with the Royal family in your dream? LOL
Hope you get your car today and that it's fixed properly for you.

A new dishwasher Mandy, how nice. At least they have given you an afternoon time slot and not an all day one, there's nothing worse than getting up early, then they turn up late afternoon. Hope all goes well with it ;-)

Yes I would stick with the slippers and wait till March Mel, if your OH is having problems finding the right ones. March isn't that far away and he might not find another pair he likes if you give them up and have your money back.

I'm almost finished on OH's bit of our tree. I've got access to someones tree on Genes, so I'm just checking it against the records on FMP then entering it all onto my tree. Not much left to do.
OH was pleased with what I'd found for him when he got in from work last night.

<3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ <3 <3 <3 <3

Good morning to the rest of you also, Evening Kim,

I watched "ENDEVOUR" but wasn't that good. I was bored throughout it. Glad the series is over. I think Vera starts next week. I was soon in bed after it. I laid until 2.00 am and got up. Sat watching Tele and dropped off to sleep. Ros came out, woke me up and said "get to bed" I ignored her and sat till 4.30 am. I then slept until 9.30.

I was so hot in bed last night. I laid on top for over an hour. and felt those horrible cramp pains start up my right leg. Fortunately they never developed.

I had some bad news this morning. One of my old boss's passed away last week. He was much younger than me. He seemed to be an Alcholic, so that might have caught up with him. Still came as a shock. !!

I just hope the Snow storms affecting Washington and New York stay where they are. We usualy get the tail end over here, so Sandra will be a happy bunnie.

Quite breezy here this morning, so I don't expect rain. I noticed it was still light at 5.00 pm last night.

We used our dishwasher last night, Ros emptied it after I had gone to Bed.

Beef Wellington was very tasty, but Ros didn't like the Pate. I don't know what we will do with the rest. Have it cold withoutthe pastry and Pate I suppose. The beef was so tender.

Nothing planned here either today, The sewing machine is working overtime again !!!

I might get the car today Gill.I will wait until late this afternoon and then if I haven't heard anything I'll givew them a ring and suggest I take this courtesy car back on Tuesday morning and pick mine up after my GP Appointment.

I have just wrapped Chris's presents for his birthday on Friday. He is out for a walk at the moment so it was a good opportunity.I still have 2 things to come in the post and have got to pick up some leather open toed sandal/slippers fro mthe Clarks shop.James has bought them but I said I would collect them for him as he gets home too late.

Mel are you still going to wait for those slippers? It seems a good idea especially if you know that they are going to fit OH properly.

OOh nice dishwasher on the way then Mandy :-D.You will have that stacked up later lol.

Just going to have a quick coffee and then ~I must get a card off in the post for my Neices birthday ,which it tomorrow !!!.I seem to have been a day out for a whole week for some reason.I hope your card arrived Liz.If not it will be tomorrow..I must get my act together...What day is it today :-D ;-)

I had a dream last night where I spent the day with Prince William,Kate ,and the children !!!!!

Morning all,

Its very windy here today out there. The Bideford shoe shop rang to say they can't order oh's slippers now till March so I can have a refund or wiat till then. He seems to be blighted with proper slippers. They either have too shallower toe (his big ones tend to stick up a bit) or he can't get his instep in them. Hey ho we will see............

Nothing planned for today shall just see what materialises as the day goes along.

It's Dull here today and looks like it's rained in the night with more to come.

Don't you get your car back today Jane.....I bet you can't wait. Hope it's all fixed properly for you this time. I saw the whales on the news last night, the poor things.

I don't have to go out today so I'm going to try and finish off OH's side of the tree I've been on, while FMP is still open. I think it's the last day today.

What's everyone else up to?

Off to get a cuppa now
See you all later

Mel it is terribly sad to see them .I do remember years ago a Whale was washed up on our beach at Wembury. It had to be blown up :-( :-( .That must have been back in the sixties.
I have gone to bed now ,but have a feeling Thomas hasn't :-S.He is on the move around the house. Not sure where he is right now .Lets hope he knows to get back down those stairs and onto his blanket on the settee. If not I shall be having words :-|

Gillx Report 24 Jan 2016 17:36

Hi all

Pity you didn't get a photo of Thomas watching the TV. It did make me laugh when you were telling us about it. Maybe if he does it again you might be quick enough to get a pic. I love to see it if you do.

I don't do that much to the property for the viewings, but Sandra has a lot of things laying around, so much so you can hardly get into her room. She always cleans it away before bed....well she doesn't get a choice otherwise she'd have no where to sleep LOL but because I put a nice cream bedspread on her bed specially for the viewings then she has to put it all away and that can take her some time. I do like to make sure my laptop is out of site and anything else of value as you never know who you are letting into your property, but apart from that and of course hoovering and polishing which I do anyway there isn't much to do, but I do like a bit of warning so I can tidy up a bit before they get here. I leave a few things out now as before I used to tidy everything away, but then I'd just have to get it all out again after they left so I don't bother as much now.

Sorry to hear about your childhood Ann, there's a few of us on here who haven't had a good time when we were children, me included, but at least we are all happy now so that's the main thing.

I've had a beak through with my family tree, thanks to FMP opening their records this weekend. I've also found a tree match on Genes, so it looks as if I might just be able to finish off this part of OH's side before he gets in from work later. That'll be a nice surprise for him.

Going to get a cuppa now, I've been so busy I've only had one COT today and I'm thirsty.

See you all later

Jane

Jane Report 24 Jan 2016 16:27

Frank I have just sent you a PM.

Gill I think that is a good idea of Liz to just to have a clean and hoover ,but just to leave everything as you would normally be..I know when we were first selling I would go mad and clear the decks so everything was ship shape and Bristol Fashion. But after a while I decided that as long as I had a nice clean Kitchen and Bathroom then that was all that was needed really. It didn't matter that there were childrens toys around or a little bit of 'clutter'.I don't really think viewers bother too much about those kind of things. For example if you have your sewing machine out I would leave it.I think it is nice to see a 'lived in home' if that makes sense.

Ann it make s me feel sad knowing that you had such a tough time growing up and the fact you didn't feel 'safe'..Thank goodness for your friends Mum :-D and you were able to get away and enjoy a bit of freedom and happiness.
Every child deserves a loving home with loving parents ,but sadly it is not for all.
It shows your strength of character Ann to see how well you have done with your life. You had the determination that some other children might not have had.

As I have said here so many times I was lucky to have been adopted.I dread to think how I may have turned out had I not been.

On a lighter note....I caught Thomas yesterday wth his 2 front paws up on the TV Table
watching a Rabbit on that programme Animals do the funniest things.I was too slow to get a pic..but he was mesmerised .I was just keeping my fingers crossed he didn't attack the TV !!!!!!!! :-S
He is out on the hunt now :-S

I'm just off to the PUB. Arsenal V Chelsea. K.O. 4.00 pm home again before 6.00 so dinner about 7.30. Ros is quite happy with that.

Ann, I know how you felt about your childhood, We had similar upbringings. I think this is why I have enjoyed my life sine those times. You don't have to be rich to enjoy your life with friends and family. My two children went away every year whether it was B & B or camping. I always had my camping stove, so we could eat out on the beach or where ever. So it didn't cost a fortune in restaurants costs. They played all day and were happy to be in bed early.and we wouldn't be far behind them.

I agree Gill, Let people see how you live, what difference will it make to them. ???

David, Some dealers aren't open Sunday's so you should get a reply on Monday. The Vectra as I remember had quite a lot of leg room. There are plenty of that size care available. Try Auto CAR. You might find something there.

Oh Ann, you sound as if you had a very bleak childhood. Was it just you, or were your parents like that with your siblings? After my mother remarried, we went, for two weeks every summer to St Agnes in north Cornwall for quite a few years. I can remember it being a very happy time, lots of sand, rocks, and sea. After my Grandpa died, my Granny came with us and I can remember going for walks with her, and her playing with me on the beach, reading to me in the evenings. (I think my parents liked to to out, so the perfect arrangement!!) and generally, all was well. Later on, after Granny died, my mother bought a bungalow at Mudeford which she let, and we used to go down quite regularly to clean up and mow the grass etc in between lets. You saying about doing that with your friend Ann, reminded me!! I learned to drive by driving to and from Mudeford from Oxford!
Dull old day here, so we're having lunch early. (Lamb, roasts and leeks), then perhaps a nice film!!
Gill, that is really encouraging, but like Jane, I'm wondering what you have to change round before viewings? Wouldn't it be easier to leave things as you normally have them, then people can see how you live from day to day? Apart from a quick tidy up and a hoover, I'd leave things as they are! It'd be far less trouble and maybe more natural and lived in. In my experience if people really want a property, they don't mind too much about the layout or decor as they usually re do the whole place anyway, so I really wouldn't go to too much trouble.

Frank Report 24 Jan 2016 12:38

Afternoon ALL,

You can see by the time that I haven't had the get up and go either.

Once we were up 9.30 am Ros stripped the bed and got it in the washing machine. I have started on the veg for dinner tonight, but felt like a break. I can't stand for too long.

We never had a holiday as a child. A day out to Southend-on-MUD was a yearly treat. Dad would take the other FOUR by coach and Mum would take me by train, as I got travel sickness on bus's.

I was 17 when with three friends we went to Skegness, to Butlins. Our accomodation was a WOODEN SHED with two lots of bunk beds. No running water, the toilets were about 100 yards away. Food was in a massive hall, that you had to get in line to be served. AND WE PAID FOR THAT. !!!!

Few spots of rain in the air here, so watch out everybody, if you are going out.

The sewing machine is up and running, so I am off to get shaved.

Thank you foe the photo of your yellow road runner, you'll miss it.
How did you manage to pork it on its front bumper lol

I saw a used car for sale online. A silver Vauxhall Vectra auto. 2 owners, full service history, 84000, recent timing belt, MOT etc affordable.

I e-mail the dealer explaining the L leg problem, was there sufficient leg room I asked to accommodate the problem. They still haven't replied.

Morning All

It is very dull here too today Mel....Just forwarded the yellow peril to you and Gill.

Gill that would be really good to get 2 veiwings in one day.You say you change a lot of things for viewing. What do you actually have to change ?

We were late getting moving this morning.(well I was).I am now just going to get the Venison casserole started and then do some ironing. That is my exciting day :-D

Gillx Report 24 Jan 2016 11:37

Thanks Jane for the pic of your car, it is yellow isn't it your poor thing, I bet you can't wait for Monday to get your other car back?

It reminded me of my Nan, she had a bright yellow skoda when I was a child, it was even brighter than yours Jane. My mum bought a bright orange one. It was her first new car and was cheaper because of the colour. The first day she had it she offered to take my sister and I to school. Needless to say we both walked that day LOL

Mum's car was so bright it looked white in the dark. She used to work nights when she was a nurse and said she could spot her car in the car park all the way from the hospital. I can laugh about it now, but it wasn't a laughing matter back then when I had to get into it
