All showered and shaved (nice clean boy now) Still hammering down with rain and so, so windy. The best place today is indoors.

I see one of my neighbours who is a bricklayer is home. I bet he can't work in this weather.

Thanks folks, but after going from site to site I found how to pay my Tax Bill. I also renewed Ros's car insurance yesterday. It doesn't start until the 22nd February, but it's done, out of the way. The next thing will be the MOT which is due in March.

Ros is on her last cover for the children. So we should be all tidy soon.

Stir fry tonight (Ros's job) so I have a day off.

How has the viewing gone this morning Gill.

Frank, I guess Lewis is just a forgetful teenager, to be honest it's pretty par for the course at 17, and I don't think I'd read too much into it. As for his father, less of an excuse, but maybe forgetful too, again, I wouldn't get too perturbed!
What a wet miserable day it is here. We're out for the day tomorrow, so I've got through a lot of jobs today to leave tomorrow free.
How did the viewings go Gill. Hopefully one of them came to something.

A very good morning to you all, Evening Kim,

What a terrible day yesterday and no better today weather wise. It's still blowing a gale.

Our bins were emptied yesterday, The blue bin blew over and went down the close two doors away. The little food caddy, was even further away. It's a good job we have our bungalow number on all our bins.

Our black poodle wore Ros's old panties with a pad when she was on heat. It saved a lot of mess to be cleared up. She was very good with them and would hop out of them when she went for a wee.

Might be a good idea to keep Cas at home in this weather Liz, I'm sure it won't be easy out there for her, even though I am sure she would love the wind in her face. <3 <3 <3

Two lots today then Gill. Lets hope one makes an offer.

I'm pleased you have the car back Jane, be carefull parking it, and leave yourself plenty of space to be able to get out of the parking space. !!

The poor birds are trying to land on the feeders, but keep getting blown off. ;-) ;-)

We are very dissapointed with Lewis, he knows we were in Tenerife, and neither him or his father have bothered to ring Ros. I told her to ring them. but she is aderment one of them should ring her. Both Conrad and Jan are in touch every couple of days to see if we are allright.

David, I didn't even know Cecil Parkingson had died, when was that. I think PARKY is still going strong.

NO WASHING OUT NEXT DOOR :-D :-D :-D

The dinning room end of the lounge looks like a FACTORY. Material everywhere, together with all her cutting things. I think she said she has two more to do. Then she can clear everything away until the next time in Feb.

Bathroom is empty, so I'm off for my shower.

See you later.

Sounds a bit bleak Davidl, so as long as you're legal I think getting a car would be a good idea. It would get you out and about again and that must be a good thing. Would your wife go with you ? A day out would be a nice and therapeutic thing to do.

Most of my day is in this room. I can access anywhere in the bungalow but with not being able to bend the knee I cannot sit comfortably, so I stay in here.
My motor insurance people say my full no claims bonus is good until June and I have a clean valid licence. The difference is I must from hereon drive a car with automatic gearbox. DVLA renewed my licence at age 70

magpie Report 27 Jan 2016 09:56

I think you did David. You were worried about leg room, or was that another car? Will you have any problems with your driving licence bearing in mind your bad leg? Also insurance? I image you'll have to declare your injury before driving again, I think it says on you driving licence application that any significant changes have to be notified with the DVLA. Do you spend all day in your bedroom or do you get into the rest of your bungalow? I only ask because you said about spending a lot of time in solitude.
I'm about to wash the kitchen floor as OH is out and Cas is asleep! After that, I shall give supper a bit of thought!!!!

These easy mistakes are becoming too easy. Too much solitude.
Did I tell you I was thinking o buying a Vectra?

magpie Report 27 Jan 2016 06:47

No need to apologise David, it was an easy mistake!
Really blowing here this morning. OH is going beating today for the last time till Nov, so peace will be at an end!! I think Cas is staying at home as she gets so wet and might get blown away!! Mind you she may go after lunch, have to see!
Good luck at the hospital today Jane, and with the viewings Gill.
Oh here comes my cuppa!!!

Well, I do feel foolish
But I enjoyed watching those interviews anyway.
Sorry about that.

Gillx Report 26 Jan 2016 23:31

Thanks Jane. I'm looking forward to the viewing tomorrow as she sounds keen, I just hope her daughter likes it too as I think she may have some influence on her mum.
Good luck at the hospital tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you.

I've entered the programme to be recorded on my planner now Mandy, thanks for letting me know it was Tuesday. OH likes it too which is why I'm recording it as he'll be at work, so we'll watch it when he gets home.
Did you watch the one at Christmas? It was a family having Christmas through the decades, starting in 1941 right up to the present day. It was really interesting.

I'm off to bed now as I have to be up early in the morning for the viewings. Hopefully I'll have some good news to tell you all in a day or two, when the Agent rings me with the feedback......maybe even an offer. I can but hope.

See you all tomorrow afternoon
Night Night

Jane Report 26 Jan 2016 21:42

LOL Anne...that made me laugh .Poor dog dropping her knickers !!!!..What an invitation !! :-D

I am off to bed now .Chris says he has set the alarm for 6 !!!!!. I think that is crazy but as I have decided to sleep in the spare bed tonight thats fine by me :-D..I will probably be up well before that with Thomas but then go back to sleep so a 6 oclock alarm will not be welcome.
I won't have time to come on here in the morning ,and maybe not time before we go to Northampton. So it may not be until tomorrow evening.

Good luck tomorrow Gill :-D

Gillx Report 26 Jan 2016 20:46

What day is Back in Time on Mandy, you only said BBC2 and the time of 8pm?
I liked that programme and wouldn't mind watching it again :-D
Hopefully it won't take to long for your hubby to see the surgeon, at least something can be done then and he'll start feeling much better.

Hope everything goes okay at the hospital tomorrow Jane. Let's hope the weather is better than today for you. Enjoy your film, I don't blame you for not using the mutil-story car park, better to wait until you're used to the car more. Pleased to hear everything is okay with the car now.
That's the problem with the bins once they've been emptied if it's windy they get blown all over the place. You'll need to be quick getting it back in tomorrow ;-)

It's terrible when the wind catches the car door like that Mel. I suppose it's better than it being shut on your leg before you have chance to get into the car properly, that's happened to me before now and it really hurts. Good job there wasn't another car at the side of you or you might of ended up with a damage door, not to mention what might of happened to the other car :-S

Hope all goes well at the vets with Amy, Anne. Do you think it could be a kidney infection? Hope she's better soon and it's nothing serious.

I wonder how Frank got on with the link I sent him, hope it was helpful.
There's nothing worse than trying to search for something online and not being able to find it.

I think it's only Cecil Parkinson who has died. Michael has had prostate cancer, but has responded well to treatment.

Anne

Anne Report 26 Jan 2016 20:23

I knew Cecil Parkinson had died but didn't realise Michael had also died I knew he was having treatment for cancer.

Amy has an appointment to see the vet on Friday at 4.15. when one of our other boxers was in season and we were staying at Peter's parents and they had a very lusty poodle we put a pair of knickers on her but every time she wagged her tail the knickers slid down her legs which was very funny :-D :-D :-D

Good luck with your trip to the hospital Jane and I hope you enjoy the film, it must feel good to get your new car back again

Goodness you should hear the wind now ,somethings lumping about outside !!

magpie

magpie Report 26 Jan 2016 20:12

David I think it's Cecil Parkinson the politician who has died, not Michael Parkinson the interviewer.
Just been watching Shetland on catchup, it's very good!

David Report 26 Jan 2016 19:25

Well team, I've spent a few hours watching Sir Michael Parkinson's interviews.

He made them at ease and brought out the best of them. Loved his interviews with Robert Mitchum and Jimmy Stewart and Elaine Stritch.

Michael will be missed
