I was cold in bed first thing this morning Mel, and I got a nice cuddle too!! OH made us both a warming cuppa, then we got up!! Another dull day here with the wind getting up! The ham is in the oven gently simmering, OH preparing some veg, family due about 12. Hope the rain holds off as the children like a good walk!! David, I'm not surprised that you feel 'down'. Spending so much time in one room must be very depressing. Perhaps you could have a reclining armchair in your sitting room, or at least a stool of some sort to rest your leg on. Maybe a walking frame to help your mobility? I'd have thought an Occupational Therapist would be able to help. I'm sure your surgery would have details. You need to try and get out and about a bit even if it's only a few steps round the bungalow and into the garden. Must get on!

Morning all and evening Kim,
Another very windy and wet day. I am not surprised anybody is down with all this horrid weather. I think we are all suffering from S.A.D.
Oh came back to bed and I got a nice cuddle to warm him up as his feet were freezing. I was hot so it worked out well in the end but I had to get up so have left him asleep and am having my COT.

The shrew could only have been an inch long without the tail.
I wattched the real marigold hotel. Did anyone else watch it. I found it quite good.
Made a fariy pom pom peg doll today and I am quite pleased with it. I stared it a while ago but did her hair today and arms and wings.
Mandy I would love to have a go at some Canna seeds please.

Afternoon all ,
Well what a day yesterday with all the wind , still blowy today so i hung washing out and it's all nice and dry .
Just sat down after doing some baking and ironing ,i made the Apple cake and some Lemon buns .
Jane do you think your pain in your eye was any thing to do with the night driving you did ? it might have strained your eye . I'am not to keen on night driving ,the light seems to reflect more in my glasses , it's ok where there is street lights but not on the unlit country roads with cars coming the other way .
Gill i think the best way to see what the weather is like is to look out the window :-D your right about the weather reports they do say one thing on one channel and some thing else on the other side . So OH is trying to be a snow man :-D I must send you the Cana seeds you asked for ,i have several that have come up in the pots now . Does any one else want any of the Cana seeds ?
I have some sewing to do tonight ,the girls have sorted through their dressing up dresses and some need stitching the seams are coming apart , one of them is a reversible dress ,so two dresses in one .
We have a few birds come into the garden ,Robins ,Black Birds, Blue tits,Thrush , Little Jenny Wrens and the blooming Pigeons ,Sea Gulls too when the weather is rough they seem to come in land then .
I meant to say Frank yes we do have a Roys shop in the town and they are in other towns too not just Wroxham .
Oh Mel how lovely to see the tiny Shrew .

Oh had just fed the robin with mealworms whilst having a ciggy outside and I was just putting my coat on to go and shut the girls in and he said to me shoosh and look. So I stood there for a little while and then the tiniest shrew came out like lightening grabbed a worm and shot back under cover. It did this about 5 times in all while I was watching so it must be living under the patio stones as they are not cemented down. It could even go between the cracks of the slabs it was that small.

I did the wrong thing at lunchtime. The sun was nice and bright, so I phoned Tony to say I would walk to the pub. The wind was so strong and cold, I was thankful I wasn't a IRON MONKEY lol They had a fire in the pub, so I was able to warm myself.
Still not sushed out the photo's but will get it right sometime soon.
Glad you are feeling better Jane. Hope you enjoy your meal this evening. So Chris is leaving you for a couple of days, hope he enjoys himself.
Today hasn't been too good for me, To many thoughts. !!! Still got the 4th of Feb to get through.

It's gone very cloudy here after sunshine all day, so we might get some rain. Not sure about the snow though, but you never know. OH is white with all the sanding he's doing and looks like a snowman, so Sandra might have to make do with that for now LOL.
Pleased to hear you're feeling better today Jane. Sorry to hear about your car, hope it's nothing to bad and can be sorted quickly for you or you might end up with the yellow car again, which I'm sure you don't want. We don't seem to have any birds here today, other than a few seagulls, but they always come around when the weather is bad at sea, as we're not that far from the coast. It's really windy now, much worse than this morning and that was bad enough. One of our neighbours makes fires in their garden and it always seems to be on a hot dry day just after I've pegged my washing out, it's so annoying and we also have to close the windows, which in the summer, you just don't want to do.
Going to pour OH a cuppa, I made a flask of tea as the kitchen is out of bounds, so I can pour it in here and pass it to him through the kitchen door. He must be so thirsty by now.

Afternoon All
Well had a good sleep last night(other than getting up 3 times !!! for the loo.I didn't even have much liquid to drink either. So I feel fine today :-D..Been out and done a fairly big food shop.Lots of ingredients for the curry that James is going to be making for everyone tonight.Including 2 packs of red chillies !! eek !!!..I am hoping he might be able to do a seperate dish for me with very little chillie. Then on the way home I decided to drop into the garage AGAIN :-S.....That warning light has started to come on intermittently ,even though ther seems nothing wrong with the boot lock now.But it is happening sometimes after the boot has been opened. So something must be tripping something for it to be happening.I was told that Service dept is closed today but that someone will ring me on Monday. There was I thinking all was fine :-|
Frank ,fancy having Stilton just before bed you silly billy.Bet you just fancied it and didn't think of the consequences..How many times has this happened now ;-) ;-) Hope you manage to work out how to load the pics of the blankets. We are all waiting :-D
Oh Anne I hope Amy's kidney function doesn't deteriorte quickly. That is what happened to my Chester :-(..It is often the trouble isnt it with older dogs and cats. We always insure our pets. Our first dog Dodger would have cost us several thousand pounds for 2 major back ops.But luckily he was insured and I think we just had to cough up £100..Fingers crossed Amy will be ok. Mel I love Greyhounds/Whippet type dogs. They have lovely temperaments .
So Gill ANY SNOW ? I did see Scotland was going t get loads today so I am hoping it has come down as far as you so Sandra can finally get to make her Snowman :-D
Liz ,I haven't watched Jericho or Two Tribes.I don't know why :-S..I get fed up with Mid summer Murders, and have probably seen all Father Brown when it was on before (or is a new series?)
OMG Next door seems to be burning something iffy..The smoke is so thick and black and I can see the flames .Luckily the smoke is not blowing our way .Sometimes we have had to shut our windows because of the smell of whatever they burn.At least our bonfires are just garden stuff and cardboard.I just hope no-one has washing out a few doors down as that is where the smoke is heading.
Not sure if I will get around to do Birdwatch. In fact looking out now there is not one bird. They have probably choked on that smoke :-S
Chris will be packing his bag tomorrow for his little 2 night trip to Suffolk.I think he is getting quite excited LOL..He goes on Monday morning and will be back late Wednesday Afternoon.I just hope the weather will be ok for him so he can get out to trudge along the beach at Aldeburgh ,and go to Minsmere to see all the birds.
Was it you Ann who remembered me getting my red boots for our trip there last year? :-D.I have hardly worn them since.
I think Gills suggestion of a picture of the plane for your FIL is a great idea. But to be honest Ann I think he sounds past presents like that now, especially if he gave you that book to take away !!!..Maybe something useful might be a good idea.Even something as simple as a new dressingown or a jumper.I remember with my Mum trying to think what on earth to buy as presents, and in the end it was the simplest of things which went down well.
Well I think I have been blethering long enough now........Eeh it is getting pretty nippy outside now.Woodburner lit :-D..The radiators are not behaving and not heating up properly :-S.So it will be a call to B G . I wonder if our Fiona has lots of snow ? Bet she has.Sofia and Matteo will be having Whale of a time if they have.

Oh, I forgot I'm watching War and Peace as well. Only got round to watching them yesterday so now I'm back on track with that programme too. Thanks for reminding me Liz ;-) ;-) Sounds like you've been busy in your garden. We were going to take the plants out at the bottom of our garden the other week, but then the weather turned nasty so it hasn't been done yet. It's still a bit to cold, so we're going to wait a bit longer before tackling that job.
Right, off to watch Mr Selfridge now and have a cuppa, while OH sands the ceiling. There's advantages to being small when you have high ceilings LOL :-D :-D

Looking forward to seeing the blankets Ros has made when you can figure out how to send them Frank. Yes Vera starts tomorrow, Sandra is looking forward to it. I don't watch it myself, but she says it's good.
Good job you were insured for Amy Anne, that would of been a lot of money to spend otherwise. Has the vet said how long the blood results will take to come through? Hope it's nothing serious. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
We don't seem to have many birds in our garden, lots of squirrels though. I thought Rosie had come for some nuts earlier but now think it might of been another squirrel that knows I feed them as it disappeared behind the greenhouse as I opened the door, so I chucked the nuts on the grass, I'm sure she'll be back for them later.
It's still very windy here and cold with it, but the sun is shinning and it's dry which is better than the rain they said we were going to get. Isn't it funny how one channel can say we're getting rain then the opposite channel says snow, then we end up not getting either......do these weather people know what they are doing? :-S :-S I just look out of the window now and what ever I see is the weather we've got. I think the way we all say what the weather is doing makes for a better picture of what's going on around the country :-) :-)
I'm watching Jericho Mel and watched the one I recorded, this morning. I also watched Dickensian off the planner too. I'm now about to watch Mr Selfridge. I do like these sort of programmes.
I helped OH empty the kitchen, he is sanding down the ceiling as some of the paint is flaking and he wants to re-paint it. He's also sorted out the roof tiles and fixed the doorbell as the wire had come loose. Because he had all these jobs to do we cancelled the viewing for this afternoon, as they haven't sold their place so wasn't in a position to buy anyway and OH wanted to get on before he's back in work. When I rang the Agent to cancel I asked about the other viewings we had and weather any of them wanted this place or not, she said give me 10 minutes.......4 hours ago and she still hasn't rung me back, so I'm still none the wiser as to what is going on.
Well, I'd better get back to Mr Selfridge I've had it on pause while I helped OH empty the kitchen.
See you all later.

Yes we watch Jericho Mel. but not Two Tribes. We're watching Dickensian, War and Peace, Deutschland 83 (subtitles, but a brilliant spy thriller) Shetland, Mr Selfridge Wild life, documentaries and that's about it !!! Done quite a bit of gardening this morning, got the raspberry canes in some sort of order, and cut the edges round the lawn, so feeling fairly satisfied!

I have taken Photo's of FOUR of the THIRTEEN covers Ros has made. The next job is how to load them and send them on to you. I have tried this morning without success. Will give it another try this afternoon.
Bright blue sky's here, but the blooming wind is still blowing. It could be worse, it could be rain !!!
That wasn't a nice bill from the vets Anne, but there is nothing cheap with them is there ??
Mel, I agree with you lets see more of "SYKES" he is such a little "STAR" They have been pushing Vera a lot this pass week, so lets hope they will be good ;-) ;-)

Good morning everyone
It's really sunny here this morning, no two days the same this week.
We have quite a lot of birds in our garden too, all the tit family, black birds, wood pigeons. magpies, robins , Jays and some times a woodpecker there use to be a wren but haven't seen one for a while plus the grey squirrels.
Amy went to the vet yesterday re her wee problem, I took a sample in and the vet wasn't happy about her kidney function so she took a blood test. there are tablets she can take so depending on the results it will depend on what she is given otherwise she is very good for her age. That little visit cost £138.00 but thankfully she is insured
I hope you are feeling better today Jane and it didn't spoil your meal out.
Richard is off to the cinema soon to see The Revenant not my sort of film, I usually wait for the films to come out on DVD if it's one I want to see.

Liz yes I have seen all the Poiret's.
Anyone watching Jerichco, Two Tribes on channel 5 twice a week. They are living like cavemen or something in Borneo (sp). Still watching Dickensian on a Saturday saving the two episodes for then. Watching the repeats of Father Brown in the evenings as its on after Doctors. They are a bit silly but make me laugh and there is no swearing in them and I also like Mark Williams who plays Father Brown. Gone of Midsomer Murders a bit. I think they get a bit boreing in the middle. Want to see more of the dog in them too.
