David it does sound like you need those items, when you say she, was it your doctor who decided they weren't necessary. Peter had two walking frames plus toilet seats were raised for him and the bath chair. Not nice but his needs came first for me.

Thank you all. Thinking of Jane's demo made me smile lol
I had a walking frame and the bath chair. I not sure if she thought they weren't suitable or were in the way, but they went back to loan equipment.

Evening all,
Dinner was a great success. Ros cleared her plate, where as I could only manage half of mine. I was SO hot in the kitchen, with the oven and gas rings on. I ended up in my u/pants. I think this is why I couldn't tackle my dinner. TO HOT TO HANDLE !!!
Mandy, I am sure Ros would like a few seeds. Thank you for offering and thinking of us <3 <3 <3
Jane what a good idea, Chris having a break from you and his surroundings. I wish I was in the position to do the same. But not being able to drive, I can't go far on my own.
David, You certainly get yourself into some trouble. Why didn't you wait until Ellen was able to be with you in the bathroom. ?? You were so lucky you didn't have an accident, and end up with the ambulace service getting you out of the bathroom. !!! I would think the local health care could be of help to you, orting out a bath chair.
How were your steaks Anne, did they enjoy them ? What did you end up having ??
Yes poor old Terry Wogan. When I first moved in with Ros. We would lay in bed and listen to him singing the "FLORAL DANCE" Which was very popular in the late 70s. As was "The Mull of Kintyre" by the Beetles. I am sure h will be sorely missed. RIP.
Ann, There's nothing I like more than a box of Bassetts. The coloured Coconut ones are my favourites. I've just remembered I have a new tin unopened from Christmas.
I hope the new "VERA" is going to be good, I am fed up to the high teeth with all the previews they keep showing I said to Ros if they show many more of them, I will throw something at the Tele. !!!
Gill, I must agree with Liz, why make all this work for you and OH if you are selling. Any new buyer won't thank you for all your hard work. I can guess how clean you are, by the way you talk about all the work you do. So why not just sit back and wait for a buyer to make up their mind. I'm sure it won't be long now, with Spring just around the corner. What is the house/bungalw like that you have seen in the next village.
Lewis will be pleased Chelsea won 5-1 against M.K. Dons this afternoon.
Ros has now continued on making a throw for our bed. She has been working on it again this afternoon. I have now told her to sit down AND RELAX. which she is doing now.
Not sure what the evening is like outside, as it's to dark to see, and I don't fancy putting my head out.
Going to skype Conrad now to see how he is doing.

Afternoon All,
What a shock to see Terry Wogan has died Anne. He was a favourite of mine too and I would listen to him on Radio2 as well as I drove to work or appointments. I would listen to Sarah Kennedy too who was on before him. He was a good start to the day with his chipper upbeat humour. I think it has got me down a bit all the people I remember so well dying lately. Also MIL and then 2 friends with breast cancer now. It can bring you back to earth with a jolt realising how old you are yourself!
Well, I got more than a cup of tea and cuddle in bed this morning ;-). lol. When we got up and went to have a shower it was absolutely freezing cold!!!! Brrrrr!!! I jumped back out and we found the boiler needed water topping up! It was fine then.
Frank Ros is very talented isn't she! :-) The covers are beautiful and the way she has put the colours/patterns together is so pretty and effective......10/10!! :-D :-D
Jane, I do remember your red boots! So why are you not accompanying him this year? Is it your hip that isn't up to the walking at the moment? I must admit I would enjoy seeing all the birds. What was the curry like that James made? Was it ok in the end or too hot for you? I only like mild ones like chicken korma. :-)
Gill, FIL wasn't a pilot in the war, he was something to do with the radios/communications and was a mechanic I think? I know they had to go ahead and set things up in advance. No sure about the photo idea after his reaction to other photos otherwise it was a great idea. I know it was in the forces that he learned to operate films and projectors and that led to him working in the cinema as a projectionist after the war. As he has little 'accidents' now we've got him some spare slippers. Also, like Jane suggested, a zip up cardigan and his favourite liquorice allsorts and some chocolate. His 2 brothers who were older than him died in their early 70s and he had a mini stroke at that age too. From doing the family tree, I noticed one of his uncles lived to be 94!! On his 95th birthday he will be the longest lived that I have found in his family!! :-)
I hope the ceiling is done now Gill. Your place must be looking very smart now from all the work you have done.
I watched the Marigold Hotel thing too and thought it very interesting.......I liked Miriam too Jane, you know where you are with her!! Fancy starting 2 businesses at the age of 65, puts me to shame!! It's not OH's COT though.

Oh goodness David that sounded very dicey having to get out like that, i was going to say a dry towel might help you to get a grip. I remember my poor old dad slipping as he was trying to get out of the bath he came crashing down on his side and broke several ribs .
I think our dicky tums was a bug Jane as son had it last week.
I had to smile at Miriam in last weeks Marigold Hotel i don't think she knows what house work is !! But Rosemary soon got stuck in with the cooking ,she seems quite bossy LOL No no Ann yesterday ,hope she's ok.
I had a birthday card in the post yesterday ,Canada post mark so our Shirl has got in early .

David, doing what you have just described is terribly dangerous and something you shouldn't be doing without proper assistance. If you want a bath, and no one will help you, why don't you get a specially designed bath seat that comes up for you to sit on, easy for you tomanoeuvre your legs and lowers you into the bath. It works in reverse to get you out. You can probably hire one through the Red Cross. Had a brilliant day, family just gone as the wind is really howling here and they have a 48 mile journey home, so it was time to make tracks. Daughter has ordered 'The lady in the Van' for my birthday! It'll be here sometime at the beginning of March! I'm so pleased. The children gave me a scented flower, and a miniature watering can with a flowering plant in it , + a card made by little boy, and one from the rest of them. A good result!!! Goodness Gill, You'll be ready for bed tonight!! Forgive me, but why are you still decorating if you are selling?! I'd just give it a quick once over and let someone else do the donkey work!

David, Peter had a chair that fitted over the bath it turned round to face outward then once he was seated it had a lever to go over the bath this was when I was his carer, then it could be used to bath or shower there are so many things you can get to make your life easier and less tedious.

David...A good idea is after you empty the bath to get a dry towel to put under you so you aren't sitting on a slippy bath bottom. Then if you can turn over on to your front ,get the good leg out over the side of the bath ,then the rest of your body with the straight leg last.~If you are on your front you will have your arms to help push you up .Does that make sense???.I know what I mean but it is a bit difficult to explain .Think you might need to be a bit like Houdini but worth a try :-D

Just a phase, sometime occurs around that date. Hey I got you babe
Earlier this afternoon I had a bath, ordinarily I would shower. The bath's a challenge.. If you can just picture it. Lift the straight left leg high, over and into the bath. Grab the grab rail and swing the right leg in . Palm on each side of bath , slowly carefully lower into bath. That's the easy bit. The reverse very difficult and hazardous. Empty the bath Hands on sides of bath, push, lift, hard work. Half way up, down again, Baths wet and full of suds and me. Try again, and again. So, hook good leg over the side bath and lift. Swing left leg to meet right leg. Now both legs are over the bath to mid calf and hands on the sides. Now I'm stuck. Can't go back can't go forward. Shouting for Ellen, she's paying no heed. Motivation was what if a neighbour has to drag me out!! Another big push and I'm out. I can fall down or choose to stand, I stand. Next time I will use the shower ;-)

Frank,Chris is most likely getting excited about getting away from me for a couple of days :-D.I think it quite a healthy thing to do,just to have a bit of space sometimes . I have a friend who each year has one week away on her own ,her OH has a week somewhere on his own and then they have a holday together.
It all sounds very complicated with insurance for new drivers then Frank.Nothing s ever straightforward. But I do think have a speed indicator is a good idea. Not sure about them not being able to drive after 8pm though.I don't think that is very practical. It doesn't seem to make much sense to me. James and Jess are trying to sort out a holiday in Helsinki in April. They are just choosing accomodation at the moment..I don't know why they have chosen Helsinki, but one of the reasons for being away then is so that James has a good excuse for not going on a Stag Do in Magaluf!!!!!.That would be his worst nightmare!.He is not one for 'those' kind of do's .I am with him on that :-D.He woud hate it. Did we hear from Ann yesterday?

Oh David you sound like are feeling right down in the dumps at the moment. You definitely need something to get you out of the house....CAR!!!! :-D :-D. Is there anything in the community thay you might be able to join where you could get to meet other people?.I'm sure there must be something for you that you would be interested in.
Two Dicky Tums Mandy. Was it something you both might have eaten that hasn't agreed? Or a bug?
I loved the First Real Marigold Hotel programme and am looking forward to the next one.I do love that Miriam whatshername .No flys on her. Says what she thinks and does what she wants lol..And Wayne Sleep...When I was about 5 years old and going to Ballet lessons he came to the dancing school I was at. I can't remember that but just remember my Mum telling me.He must have been a very young then !!
I hope Amy's bloods aren't too bad Anne. She sounds like she has been in fine fettle today :-D
I think my next door neighbour needs his bumps feeling. He has been trying to cut his lawn !!!!!!.It must be like a bog !

Just had a hour trying to order repeat perscriptions on line. I finally got mine done, but not Ros's, so a trip the surgery anyway to get a new password for Ros, and drop of her perscription. I thought these things were surpose to make life easier (NOT)
The rain has cleared us as well Jane, but it looks so misserable out there. So Chris is getting excited about his trip. IT'S NOT ANOTHER WOMAN IS IT ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Like me, he wouldn't be able to handle one LOL LOL
Yes I will have to make sure the car for Lewis is under 1200 cc. Some insurance companies do very low rates for young drivers who have a small box in the car. that tells them about speed etc. The young driver must not be on the road after .8.00 pm and if he speeds a bleeper goes off to warn them. I have been told that premiums can be as low as £200.00 but don't know the cost of the equipment. I will have to look into it. It could save him/me a lot of money !!!
Steak Chips and Field Mushroom sounds a treat Anne, That's something I sometimes on a Friday night. More for Ros than myself. I can take or leave Steak. I like a nice piece of FISH.
Are you still up Gill ???
Time for a cuppa. and to put the lamb on low.. The meat will just fall off the bone when it's cooked.

Afternoon all
Dull and dreary here with drizzle ,i have only been as far as the bin and it was nasty i got quite wet .
I'll get the seeds in the post this week ,they take a while to come up ,i nearly put the pots out as i didn't think they were doing much.
Frank would Ros like some Canna seeds to bring on in pots ?they are the green leaf ones with red flowers . I think the covers Ros has made are so pretty, the children will love them . I had to laugh at Lewis saying he was having a rave LOL :-D
Gill how do you do it ,i would be dead on my feet if i was still up at six in the morning , you will be so glad of your bed tonight .
I was surprised to hear about poor Terry Wogan i didn't even know he was ill , i use to like him on the radio .
David you do sound as if you are getting a bit low ,do you get out of the house at all now ? could you manage to ride one of those mobility scooters ? not like going out in the car i know but it would get you out and about .
I hope Amy's results come back as good tomorrow Anne and there's nothing serious ,she sounds as if she has plenty of energy and enjoys her walks .
Don't know what we'll have for our meal tonight ,we've both had a dicky tummy ,no pain but just the need to keep going !! :-S
Yes Mel we like The Real Marigold Hotel ,looking for ward to seeing what they get up to this week .

I watched the Real Marigold Hotel as well it was very good the next episode is on Tuesday. we will be watching Vera tonight and recording Call the Midwife. The only shrews I have seen have been mostly dead ones brought in by the cats although i have managed to save a couple in the past but as they all look alike it could have been the same one.
Having a quiet Sunday for a change, Becky ,Sue etc are taking the caravan down to the New Forest and Abbie's boy friend is up for the weekend. Paul chose to work and will be here just after 2o/c I am cooking steaks with chips and large mushrooms for them I will just have some Chicken bits with mine,

Afternoon All Well the rain has gone and it looks like it is brightening up a bit now.Not that I will be out anywhere this afternoon.I have been to take a couple of tops back to next...Yes more tops Frank lol. Your dinner sounds a good one again for tonight.I have a couple of Memphis BBQ style Chicken Crowns from Sainsbury.I think Pat has has these before. They are delicious.I will do my Lemon and Garlic Roast Pototoes ,roasted parsnips, carrots and Leeks(leeks from the garden),and Broccoli and Green Beans.
Good heavens Gill !!!!!! how on earth did you manage to stay up until 6am? !!!!!I don't know how you do it.Yes I hope the ceiling will be done ready for you to do the Roast Chicken later.
How sad about the lovely Terry Wogan :-(..He has been around for so long on our TVs. Did he not have to pull out of the Children in Need programme at the last minute?
Oh David ,I think we can all say I wonder if I did such and such would it have made a difference. The thing is we can't change things that have happened.Had your Mother taken a tumble fown the stairs? .If you had have used your key at 6.30 the outcome may have very well been the same.I hopw you are feeling a little less down now today. Just think about that car :-D :-D :-D
So Lewis is 'Home Alone' then Frank :-D :-D..A Rave LOL...Bet he is as good as gold. Will he need a 1.2 car for a cheaper insurance? I don't know anything about these things.
Mel I haven't seen any Shrews since Thomas has been here :-S.We used to have a couple around the patio and back door area.Sadly no longer.I loved to see them scampering around .
That was nice to have a cuddle Mel .Not sure about the cold feet though lol
Chris is in a funny mood(good one) as he is getting himself all geared up now for his little getaway.A bit like a big kid really :-D...He has just reminded me that it is likely the window cleaner will turn up in the next couple of days so to make sure I am not prancing around in the nuddy...Now that really would make the poor man fall off his ladder !!!!
Since I started typing this post the clouds seem to be back :-|...I have just lit the fire even though it is not actually that cold.It just makes the room feel more cosy.
Mandy I think driving in the dark with all those lights coming at me may well have had something to do with my pain that I had.I have the beginning of a Cataract in that eye so I don't know if that will not help things.

Morning my little friends, Evening Kim,
Yes, we have the sae weather, fine drizzle and DARK. table lights on in the lounge, central heating on.
I done most on the veg, French beans, Runner beans, Carrots, Cauliflower Parsnips and brussels. They are all sitting in a bowl of cold water, just the spuds to add to them.
Large Shoulder of Lamb all marinated and in the baking tin all covered ready to go on when I am ready.
I can have a nice quite few hours reading my book. We eat about 5.00/6.00 pm.
Spoke to Lewis on Friday evening, regarding THE CAR. The one I have been offered is a 1400 cc engine, which he said is too big for the Insurance. He said his M & D had gone to CORNWALL to Baby sit for Lara. What a long way to go !!! We rang him again last night to see he was alright. He said he was just moving all the furniture and putting the T.V. upstairs ready for the RAVE that is starting TODAY. Little wind up merchant, We know he wouldn't do that :-D :-D :-D :-D
Dosen't look good for a nice afternoon walk Liz, But provided you are dressed for it, I don't think it wil be that cold.
What's all thid Gill, going to bed at 6.00 am. You both must feelwacked out this morning.
Mel, I haven't seen a shrew since I left Gayton 19 years ago. Where we were situated, with open fields all around us. We saw so much wild life. Including Fox'a Woodpeckers, tits off all kinds Munjac (sp) deers every day in the front field. I miss it terrible, but we could never have been able to look after that lot now. This garden is getting too much. !!!
All I have seen in the garden this morning are STARLINGS ;-) ;-) ;-) So much for bird watch.
I am now going to try to send the photo's. Wush me luck !!!

Magpie, yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of my Mother's passing. At 6.30 am I cycled past her front door. She had been ill. I thought I will give her a knock, see how she is, I even had a key to her door. Then I thought, no one knocks some one up at 6.30 and I past went her door.
About 4 hours later someone knocked me out of bed (I'd been working all night) My Mother was in the ICU where she died. Someone had boke into her house after not seeing her in the street or answering the phone. She was lying at the foot of the stairs behind the front door. If at 6.30 I'd used that key?
That's why I was down. Perhaps could have saved her life :-(

Good morning everyone
We have that very fine rain as well. I think the reason we have so many birds in the garden is because next door have a fairly large aviary in their garden, they often have baby budgies to sell. We also have Swinley forest just across the road. On the M4 very close to here people have seen red kites..
Richard has just read that Terry Wogan has died of cancer he was a favourite of mine, we always listened to him when he was on radio 2,

Morning Mel morning all
Dull wet day here today, that fine rain that soaks you through but you don't know it's happening. Thankfully I don't have to go out in it.
So you're having fun with your pom pom people Mel. I didn't watch the real marigold hotel, to busy with my family tree, so didn't really watch much TV in the end. I was going to catch up with all the programmes I've recorded but doing my tree at the same time, I couldn't concentrate on them.
Thanks Mandy, I look forward to receiving the seeds. I've never grown them before, so that'll be something new for me to do.
OH and I didn't get to bed until gone 6am this morning and have just woken up to carry on with the kitchen ceiling. OH was suppose to just lightly sand the ceiling ready to give it a coat of paint but ended up scrapping the old paint off. He's about half way through. You should of seen the mess. He's said that it'll be finished in time for me to put the roast on for a very late dinner, hope he's right as I wouldn't want the chicken to go to waste as it has today's date on it.
While OH was working in the kitchen I got lots and lots done on his side of our tree, so I'm really making headway there. It was a part of the family who moved to Canada. Trying to find Canadian records isn't the easiest thing to do and then one of them moved from Canada to America, that was a bit easier though. Hopefully I've only got the English people left to do which should make it easier to do today.
Sandra enjoyed her day yesterday watching the Glee DVD we got her for Christmas, there were four DVD's in there so it took her all day to get through them. After that we started watching the voice that I recorded for her but after half an hour she said she wanted to go to bed. It was gone 2am at this point so I'm not surprised she was tired. I've just heard her get up so she can watch the rest of it when she wakes up properly.
What has everyone else got planned for the day?
