Afternoon All,
Took ages to drop off to sleep at around 4.00am, so was up late and all behind. After showering we decided to eat out at Ullesthorpe Court just for a tuna jacket with salad. Only one other couple was there, yet it used to be so busy. We carried on to the Factory Shop then and OH bought more of the underwear he bought from them recently and I returned the trousers I got. We called at the pharmacy for our meds and popped in the shop on the way home. The garden bin is full now and put out for collection after OH topped it up and I have dusted and hoovered as OH's friend is calling in the morning to help him sort some things in the garage. They are both off to a match tonight. We've had a little rain but mostly sunshine today, but if it isn't raining in the morning I've decided to go to the Boundary Mill retail park. I can have a look at their curtains as well as the usual things and get a snack and drink in their cafe. My car will be out of the drive so out of their way then and it will give it a good run there and back.
Sorry you didn't sleep well either AnnG. I've started yawning now!!
It's good your car battery seems ok now Mel and has charged up. Do you have two electric meters because you grew and sold things? I remember dad having two electric meters in his workshop, one was for the 3 phase electric for the machinery I think and the other single phase for the lights and everything else. You've reminded me I need to clean the cooker hob!
Mandy I've never thought to do that with the little drawer either, yet I always leave the other door open.
Better get a COT now and see if it wakes me up a bit.

Dry and bright and 15 degrees here. I have just done some admin, and sorted out some aired clothes to put away, as well as taking the recycling out to the bin for collection tomorrow. Very wet underfoot out there. Fell tired today as I didn't sleep well.

Afternoon Ladies,
I slept well.......once I managed to drop off, but still lay in later than intended. OH did some cutting back in the front garden, enough to fill the rest of the garden bin, so like most of you the bin is ready to go out tomorrow ready for collection on Tuesday. It had started to rain by then but has stopped now and there's no sunshine. I decided to clean the bathroom but the spinner brush ran out of charge halfway through doing the bath. I've done the rest apart from the floor and will finish off tomorrow. I even poured some unblocker down the bath drain as it seems slow draining to me.
I cooked some salmon to go with with cabbage, leeks, carrots, cauli, peas and green beans with added mashed potato for OH and made up a packet hollandaise sauce for lunch so that was quick to cook.
It's a lovely tree with those big leaves so I thought you'd like to see it now the leaves look very autumnal. I suspected Vera might find the email in her spam again and it is strange why it suddenly started happening. I'll have to post a code word on the thread when I send an email so Vera knows! OH said the same about a painting, but there are so many of those intricate leaves! I might try a small area for practice and see how it goes.
Oh Vera what a sad life for the two little dogs and what a noise there must have been in that house with so many. They will have a lovely home with your daughter now and be great company for her. They do have the softest fur too. The one next door is aged 15 now.
We seem to be due some light rain tomorrow AnnG so I hope it isn't much for your trip to Hidcote. I remember enjoying a visit there years ago. Yes the tree leaves are pretty colours now and a nice shape too. Those monitoring devices your daughter has must give her a lot of peace of mind.
I can't remember Amazon ever delivering on a Sunday either Mandy. Yes I need to dust off my paintbrushes don't I. I still haven't booked the course as I'm not sure when we'll be able to book the bathroom to be done yet and still think it might not be as enjoyable being more abstract.
Sorry you had a bad night Mel. How is your car battery now......OK?

Sounds as though the little dogs have fallen on all four feet Vera.mthey sound lovely and just what your daughter needs.
It is pouring down out there. Talk about one extreme to the other. My dinner smells nice a ready to cook lamb shank, roast pots and carrots cauli and sprouts. It had better be good those lamb shanks are not cheap these days.

Yes Vera rain started here about 3 o'clock. How lovely two dogs kept together ,poor little things how can people treat them like that ,they probably have never had a cuddle but it's nice to know they will now know what love is and live out their days in a loving home bless them and bless your daughter for taking them on.

It's raining here as well now so I expect you have it too Mandy. It's a shame as this morning we had sunshine for the first time in several days. As I will be short of time tomorrow I decided to get some washing done so I did a load of shirts and blouses and cooked a roast lamb dinner which we have just finished. In between I flitted in and out of the garden, cutting back a few plants and pulling some weeds. The garden bin is nearly full but it was only emptied on Wednesday so about 10 days before it gets emptied again.
Annx, thank you for the photos of the red oak. The leaves are a beautiful colour As the others have said you need to get your paints out again as I think you would make something quite lovely. I nearly missed your email as it had gone into Spam again. Each time that happens I check the box that tells the computer never to put your emails into Spam but it just doesn't seem to register.
I'm currently waiting for daughter to ring. We were texting this morning and she said she would call later. I shall hear all about her new dogs. I won't bore you with the whole story as it's long and complicated but a while ago daughter applied to the RSPCA to home one of their rescue dogs. She has always had medium to large dogs before but the RSPCA asked if she would consider taking 2 Shih Tzu dogs, a male aged 6-7 and a female aged about 2. Cutting a long story short, she met them several times, agreed to have them, then various medical issues arose for the male dog in particular and the date she was to receive them got put off. Finally, she brought them home yesterday. RSPCA vets have neutered the male dog, repaired a damaged ulna and found a heart problem which means he will be on constant medication but daughter is prepared for the cost of that. The female is going back to the RSPCA in December to be speyed.
These poor dogs have had a miserable existence so far. The RSPCA seized 120 of them from an ordinary house. That isn't a typo - it really was 120. There was 1 woman living in the house. Can you imagine the terrible state of that place and the awful condition of those poor animals. There were so many of them that they had to be shared out among the RSPCA centres around the country. I believe that there is now a big court case going on. Well, two of them will have a safe, happy life from now on. Daughter will make sure of that.
I've already had a few photos and short videos from daughter and the dogs seem to be settling well already. One video made us chuckle - it was the male dog asleep and snoring. It was like being stood next to a pneumatic drill. You wouldn't believe such a small bundle of fluff could produce such a loud noise!

Raining here and 13 degrees, not very warm indoors though. I have vacuumed and dusted lounge, dining room, hall and kitchen so do feel I have done something with my day. Ought to give the bathroom a clean too I suppose.
I said in reply to your email Ann, the photos of the leaves are lovely. aren't the colours beautiful.
I am hopefully going to Hidcote garden on Tuesday with the U3a garden visits group. I am just hoping it won't rain all day.

Morning just,
I had a terrible night, got up for the loo still very dark outside and black going back to the bedroom and back in bed. Thought I would drop right off again but no I lay for hours and just could'nt get back to sleep and got cross with myself which made it worse. I even tried turning over which |i don't usually do and that did'nt work either. Must have dropped off for a while in the end as I woke up at 11am.
Its 15 degrees here and cloudy but I don't think its rained in the night.
The pics of the Red Oak are lovely Annx thanks for sending them.

Morning Anng, morning all,
Grey here but dry and irs 12 degrees ,hopefully we can get the front grass cut this morning before the rain comes ,the garden bin goes out today for tomorrow and the cuttings will top it up .
Anng thats handy that alarm your daughters has on her phone for her blood sugars ,there's so many apps and things you can have on the phones now but I'm afraid it all goes over my head .
Ann I think that second photo of the oak tree with the beautiful colours would make a lovely painting ,I showed it to Colin and he said the same ,one to save until you get your brushes out again I think .
Just had a knock at the door and it was the post lady with my hand mixer and Max's joint tablets I ordered from amazon, I didn't know we got amazon post from royal mail on a Sunday ,just got Max's biscuits to come from Amzon today too.

Good morning all, still dry and 11 degrees but very dull. Nothing planned for today, Doesn't look very inviting for pottering in the garden. Might be forced to filll my time with housework. Arms not bad and I slept well covid arm is a bit stiff, hopefully that will wear off. I do have a list of admin jobs to do so maybe I will work down that.
