You did better than me Mel, I couldn't open any of Frank's on one email. The leaves with veins sound very effective. I must have a look after this post. I see you have been cutting back your Hydrangeas, well half for now unless you did the rest after the oil delivery. We have had a more restful day today, but I have earmarked what I want trimming off another shrub and some bits off the holly tree. OH will do that tomorrow as the garden bin is due for collection on Tuesday. He moved some more heavy bits of slate to the island beds and tomorrow I hope to position them as stepping stones so the weeding can be done without stepping on the soil.
Are you feeling better now Jane? The fresh air will do you good and playing some croquet. Who usually wins? :-) Is James getting into his new job routine?
Oh I missed your stitch saga AnnG. It was a DIY effort then, but a good job you spotted it and got the stitch out. I still haven't been able to get through to our garden centres to order anything yet. I love Verbenas in all their pretty colours.
Mandy you both did well to get your gazebo together without help. A think you may be a bit achey tomorrow though.
Frank I think we will soon all be looking like we did in the 60s with much longer hairstyles! :-D :-D I was due a trim next week, but can manage to trim my fringe and round my ears for now. Once it is long enough I can wear it in a scrunchie at the back of my neck which is how I had it for work years ago. OH is fine as I did his earlier this week.
When OH went to get a parcel in the post man had left he said 2 policemen were at Mrs O's across the road. We were nosey looking to see where they went and they went next door then and into their back garden. Goodness knows what has happened. I expect we will get to know sometime in the future. We never saw a policeman down here for over 16 years but now it seems to be changing.
We saw the air ambulance fly over while we had lunch today.

I had a little paint this afternoon and then helped oh get the mower deck up on tressles and then I cut down the old Hydranga stems off the back as oh brought round the big trailor for me to put it in. I had cut down half of it when the oiil came but had'nt done the rest of it.
I have a very very sore roof of my mouth today. I must have jarred my loose tooth and its caused a sort of gum boil on the roof of my mouth. I have done two lots of mouth wash and a drop of Jamesons whiskey swilled around it but it still hurts and throbs.
Hope the back eases soon Gill. Not too long on the laptop now.
Anng what a thing to have a bit of the stitches left in as that could have caused a nasty infection. Its good you spotted it and managed to remove it. No wonder it was healing properly.
Thanks for the pictures Ann. My pc is playing up a bit looking at pics and videos since they changed all my bt page web page. I do wish they would'nt do that as it messes all my camera downloading up and my emails. I can only open the middle one Frank sent.
Managed to download the pics of the gummy bears so will send that now.

Does anyone watch neighbours? I do and have just been watching the news and people in the UK have been dancing outside their doors to the theme tune of Neighbours. The cast of Neighbours in Australia got word of it and did it themselves outside their homes. How nice was that?
So it's games in the garden then Jane, just the weather for it. Pleased you feel well enough to join in.
That was nice of Harvey to come and sort out your water butt Frank. Was it like having Grizzly Adams there, with his full beard lol. Hope your tum is okay now.
Pleased to see you got your prescriptions okay this week Ann, good that they put a table in front of the door, safer for them as well as everyone else. I noticed some park benches taped off on the news. I'm so sorry you still haven't been able to contact the holiday people. I hope you get the week you want for next year, I'll keep my fingers crossed you do. Love the pictures you sent, the one of the pigeon reminded me of a pigeon who was sitting on a branch of our conifer this morning. The same one flew down and sat underneath our Camellia to shade from the sun.Sorry to hear you've hurt your toe now, I hope it heals soon for you. You're not safe to be left alone lol. :-D :-D :-D
I've been watching the news and just heard a baby who caught the virus has recovered, how relieved must the parents be. She's only a few weeks old.
I've been doing okay on my tree today, but have been having regular breaks which is working as my back isn't as sore. Going to take another look, now I've had a break.

Afternoon All,
Yet another sunny day! My arms and neck really caught the sun yesterday, just sitting out for lunch and for an afternoon break watching the birds.
I agree AnnG, when we should be keeping our essential trips short, why would Ros need to be out for 6 hours? I couldn't even stand long in a queue that big or my back and knees would play up. We fetched our prescriptions yesterday and there was a queue of 5 at the new pharmacy, but they were so quick and (unlike the old pharmacy) had everyone's prescriptions ready to hand to them. As it is a small shop, they had put a table across the doorway and served everyone from there. I sat in the car and enjoyed all the tree blossom and noticed that they have taped off the seats in the village so no-one can sit on them and prevent social distancing from people walking along the paths.
I have spent about an hour and half altogether trying to contact the holiday people with no success. I even hung on for 25 minutes once but still couldn't get through! It is the agent Hoseasons we have to ring to rearrange, not the site owner. I tried texting the site owner, but suspect his phone is off probably because he is being inundated with calls too! I'll be annoyed if we can't transfer to the same period next year because it is not for want of trying. The agent knew a lot of people would be contacting them and should have ensured they could man the phones adequately.
Oh what a lovely surprise you made for the girls Mel. Yes please send a photo! :-D It would be nice to see a pic of them wearing them too if it's possible Mandy!
I have watched the Kirstie craft progs up to now and agree about the cans being a bit dangerous for children to make. I wasn't sure about encouraging them to play with bleach either. I did like the reverse printing effect though. I had already seen all the flashbacks of other crafts in other progs of hers though.
The knee is slowly improving Gill, so we jet washed the path at the side of the bungalow yesterday morning. I managed to trip and stub my toe and partly rip a toenail yesterday when I was switching the waterfall on so that hasn't helped and is a bit sore. I hope your back is getting a bit easier now and it's good you are still finding new additions to your tree.
AnnG after reading of your success with getting plants I looked and found 2 local garden centres were doing the same either deliver of collect, but they are both constantly engaged!
OH is setting me up on ZOOM this afternoon so he can learn and practice for setting up meetings for his work.
My french beans and mini cue seeds came yesterday so they are all planted now.

Good afternoon to you all.
What a lovely surprise we have had. LEWIS turned up, and is out in the back garden with his shirt off, cleaning out one of the water barrels, that is bunged up with leaves.
Yews are expecting a delivery anytime soon. Ros only went out for a few bits we had forgot to order. She kept her distance from everyone and was in and out in no time.
Lewis has said, he has been sitting EXAMS on his laptop. Essays of over 1,000 words, which he was given three days to complete. Plus he has been doing lots of UNI work, that he is able to do. He has now grown a full facial beard, just like CONRAD.
I see that hairdressers could be closed for up to SIX MONTHS. Poor people, how on earth can they manage that length of time, without business. Plus what are peoples hair going to look like after all that time as well. We will all be looking like "CAVE MEN AND WOMEN" by then.
I have been sitting out reading, but my tummy is not good, so I am now indoors, close to the loo. lol lol.
Well my lovelies, enjoy this sunshine, and PLEASE continue to STAY SAFE. xxxx

Afternoon all,
Lovely and sunny now but it was very cloudy and grey first thing ,we have been trying to get the Gazebo up ,so far we have the legs screwed down and the bits across the top just the canopy to have the poles put through and then they screw that up to the runners ,usually son and DIL help us so we didn't know if we would be able to get it all up on our own .
Mel i did open the envelope as i wanted to throw that bit away as you don't now how many people had touched it so i took the box out and just opened the yellow one .
Oh naughty Ros worrying you like that and there she was having a good old gossip
Oh AnnG no wonder your arm wasn't healing you were lucky you could just pull that bit of stitch out it could have got really stuck in there ,i bet when you started to pull you wondered how much you were pulling out :-0
Gill it must take forever when you have to water ,i take it you use a hose pipe and not just a watering can .
I've watched one of the Kirstie programmes so haven't seen the dog make one yet.
I cooked a piece of Gammon this morning so it will be a nice easy meal tonight ,Gammon and salad with mash pots . .

Afternoon all
Another lovely sunny day, but that means more watering of the garden and with over 500 pots to water it takes forever. At least we can't complain about the weather can we?
Pleased to see Ros was okay in the end Frank, just having a good natter and lost track of time. You must of been worried though especially when you couldn't reach her on her mobile. At least you know she's safe and sound now. Hope she's feeling a little better today after her bad night last night.
How did you get on with the holiday people Ann, did you get through in the end? Hope your knee feels better today.
I've been watching the Kirstie's craft programmes Mel and agree with you the can dog was a bit dangerous especially with the screws sticking out all over the place as well as the tongue you mentioned. Some of her other crafts are good though, did you see the one of reverse dying where she used the bleach on a blue cloth over some leaves she'd got from her garden. I thought that was a good idea and the way she sewn all the different bits of material together with grease-proof paper on top then cut out the leaves, that's a good idea to use up scraps of material and you could make other things as it becomes one big piece of material. I'd love to see a pic of the gummy bear necklaces. How is your knee today?
I finally found 5 missing children for a couple I had yesterday, although it took me longer than I thought it would, so my back started aching again. it's not to bad so far today, I need to look for the spouses of the surviving children, but I think there's only two to find, so not so bad. Hopefully it won't take me so long.
I see you got some nice plants AnnG, so you'll be busy planting them today I should imagine. Oh dear, I bet that was a bit of a shock finding the stitch still in your arm. Thankfully it's healed now, fancy the nurse not checking she'd taken them all out though. Good job you spotted it.
So you have three happy granddaughter's now then Mandy, that was nice of Mel to send them a little present each.
Going to grab and cuppa, so I can have a rest from the laptop, then see if I can find the spouses I need.

Good morning all. I do hope the 4 ladies were practising social distancing Frank, hopefully they were all 6 feet apart. good job the police didn't see them though.
Hope Ros is better this morning.
Mel, Lovely if the veins show up well, you will have quite a collection of things soon.
It is a lovely day here again, 12 degrees out there but it feels warmer. I have done a load of washing and potted on most of the Verbena into baskets. Just waiting for another basket to be filled then OH can take over the fuchsias which he likes to do. I always used to do them but that is another thing he has decided to take over.
I don't think I told you but for a couple of weeks now I have been concerned because I didn't think my arm, where the stitches were was healing as well as it should. After all it is over 6 weeks now since they were taken out. One little bit at the end just would not heal. I looked closely at it a few days ago and thought I could see a strange little black spot. Yesterday I looked more closely and it looked like a splinter and felt like it so I decided to have apoke around with my nail which I washed thoughly and also used germaline. I managed to scrape the skin back a bit and could see something in there and managed to get hold of it and pull and, guess what I pulled out about at least an inch of stitch that had been left in there. It has now healed over completely.

Good morning to you all,
Sun is struggling get through here. But I think it will make it soon.
Madam was at Valerie's and two other woman, all nattering away, and no one took any notice of the time. When I rang Valerie, she said she's on her way, and arrived soon after.
The HOCK and peas, didn't settle well with Ros, she was in and out of bed FIVE times in the night. Didn't affect me.
No plans for today, apart from reading more books. Which reminds me, I had better order more from Ebay.
Stay safe everyone. xxxx

Morning all,
Another sunny day today with a slight breeze.
I made some oak leaf pendants from our big oak tree leaves yesterday latish and baked them. A couple are a bit thick I think but the veins in the leaves came out well on most of them. I may try a beach leaf today.
I anyone watching the Kirstie programs on crafts? I was wondering what you thought about them. I have watched two I think. If you have seen them I did'nt think the tin can dog was a good idea with children in mind having to cut a soda can to make a tongue as that can be very sharp once cut.
Mandy I would have loved to see the childrens faces too. Did you open the box when it arrived?

Evening all,
Another lovely warm day we've been out in the garden again Colin put two brackets on my linen post so i could hang a couple of baskets on them ,don't think he was very pleased when i asked could i have them the other way round to take the basket up a bit higher .
I have three happy grand daughters today thanks to Mel <3 she has made them all a necklace with a little Gummie Bear hanging on a slivery cord they are so pleased with them . Mel you'll have to try and rest the knee ,good excuse to sit and do your crafting .
Gill it sounds as if you may have been sitting to long in one position and that's why your back is painful ,you'll have to limit your self to say half an hour at the lap top and then rest up .
AnnG that was very good service from the garden centre ,they must be pleased to have the trade to keep them going ,i did read at one time a lot of the garden centre were talking about having to dump all their plants which would have been such a shame .
Ann how is your knee today ? hope its not so painful . Did you manage to get through to the holiday people after hanging on ?
Jane i hope your beginning to feel a little better today after the top up of blood you had yesterday , get the garden chair out and sit out in the lovely sunshine and have a good rest up .
Frank i hope Ros is home now, that was a long time she was out you must have got really worried about her ,she is doing so well with all the stitching of the scrub bags .

Here we are again, happy as can be, all good friends and jolly good company. NOW WHERE DID THAT COME FOM/
Eos went to Tesco around 11.00 am this morning. She rang me soon after to say the queue was Sooooo long, she went to Morrison's. Queue there also about 30/40 in front of her. She still isn't back, I know she was getting some bits for Val. So she might be talking to her while sitting in the car, and keeping her distance. As it's almost 4.00 pm, I am getting a bot worried. She has her phone with her, so I will ring, to see where she is. No reply, gone to Answer Phone.
Hock and mussy peas and mash for dinner tonight. I put the Hock in the saucepan and it's ticking away on a low gas. I have also made an Apple Crumble. Will pop that in the oven later, and make the custard.
Another wonderful day. So watering tonight is going to me a MUST. Between us this morning, we put up a new door screen. What a job, nothing seemed to go right. But anyway it's in situ now, so hopefully will keep the fly's out, when the back conservatory door is open.
I think I will ring Val, to see if they are chatting away down there. Just can't understand why she's not answering her phone.
Will speak later. xxxx

I'm pleassed your back is a little better today Gill but don't over do it on the pc or you will be back to square one.
Knee is a little better today and I am not walking around much today so I think thats what was making it hurt so much. Trotting around the garden and doing things like going up big steps. Its back and forth in the kitchen that does it too.
Made 21 spicy little cakes this morning so we have something to have with our afternoon cuppa now.
Ann I do hope you are able to get in touch with your holiday people today. They must be a very busy little business to have so many callers. I bet its driving them up the wall. I feel so sorry for people who open their houses to tourist at this time of year and all the money they have lost. Shops to and small businesses. I always remember when we had the nursary and did the markets that people would be buying the plants to make their houses look nice for the visitors.
Anng you've been lucky to get some Milion Bells plants. They are such good doers and I shall miss those this year. I tend to go for the purples and pinks but there are so many colours in them now. Had a good clear out in the airing cupboard I see and found some useful things to have scrub bags made. Enjoy your sponge cake.

Well that was good service OH phoned the garden centre, a small one that normally does conifers and heathers etc, but which used to have a larger garden centre round the corner from us about 10 years ago. They delivered Verbenas, fuchsias and 2 calibrachoas to us this morning. We had to have £25 worth to get free delivery but managed that ok and the plants are quite large and very healthy.. Then I cleared out the top shelf of the airing cupboard and filled a very large carrier bag with several sheets and two duvet covers for the local ladies to make into scrub bags. That was collected off the drive by a local councillor. and Cynth got our shopping and also brought us two pieces of sponge she made.
Gill pleased your back is easier but it possibly is the way you are using your laptop Better ease up a bit.
Ann have you managed to get through to the holiday place yet?
Frank another good job done now the front lawn is cut. OH cut our lawn this morning. well done ros for all those bags.
Mel you have to try not to twist your knee when you turn although I bet you remember too late when it hurts you. :-) :-)

Morning all
Lovely and sunny here to
My back is a little better this morning, not as painful. OH thinks it's to much time on my laptop sitting in the same position for long periods of time, so although I'm still going to carry on with my family tree, I will make sure I move around a bit more and not go on the laptop as much.
I hope you manage to get through to the holiday people Ann and aren't in the queue for to long. I bet all our phone bills are going to be a lot higher with lockdown, the phone companies must be making a fortune.
Pleased to see you had a reasonable night's sleep Frank, I had an okay one all things considered, but turning over in the night, like Ann said, with the pain in my back woke me up a few times. I see word is getting around about Ros and her scrub bags, good on her, she's working so hard on them. Glad Ros managed to get through to Coopers and got the pillow you wanted.
Hope your knee starts to feel better soon Mel, it's not very nice when you can't move around like you normally do.
Going to take another look at my family tree now while my back isn't so sore, although I won't be sitting in the same position for to long, I don't want it to start hurting like it did yesterday.

Morning All,
Yes lots of sunshine again!
Sorry to hear you have hurt your back Gill. It sounds very painful so I hope you got some sleep. It's the turning over that can really hurt. Try a hot water bottle next to it and rest up a bit today and just potter.
That would be good if you could get some plants delivered AnnG. Things are looking a bit bare here!
Ros must be sleeping well after all the sewing Frank! Her good work is clearly much appreciated though.
Better go as I still can't get through to the holiday people after hanging on in a queue for 20 minutes!! OH has the jet washer ready for action!!
