Anyone remember the 'Bobbin'?

Afternoon all,

Ros is having trouble with the Sewing Machine. Nor thinking how she would take it, I ASKED "Do you need someone to show you, what you might be doing wrong" SHE BLEW EVERY FUSE IN HER BODY. So I am keeping my mouth shut, ongoing in the garden to read.

We have beautiful sunshine here. They do say it's going to cool down, with some showers during the week. If I felt better, I would go and cut the lawns. I haven't heard from BARRY. So I expect he is in SHUTDOWN. Silly me. I should have got Lewis to do them on Saturday.

And yet another iffy night. I got out at 4.00 am for the loo, and hardly closed my eyes again until I got up at 6.45. Ros slept in until 10.20 am. Jan and Conrad had rung around 9.30. They are both well, keeping themselves busy in the garden. They have Ella staying with them as her Mum, can't get the school work she needs to do, on her Computer. So Conrad is doing it from his laptop. Ella can now do the school work she needs to do.

Make do type of meal for tonight. I just don't feel in the mood for preparing and cooking meals at the moment.

I do think, as suggested by someone on here, that my body might be missing my Testosterone injections. I will perhaps ring the Drs. this afternoon, to see if I can take TABLET FORM. If so Ros can pick some up for me when she takes up the prescriptions later.

Oh dear Mel, How soon before the order do you have to pay? Maybe in future mark it on the calendar or something. As you see below, our order is organised by our son or else I may have made the same mistake.

Well done Tesco. Thanks to our son getting us a delivery slot we had our ordered delivered this morning. Time given for order was 11-12 and time delivered two minutes to eleven, very good service and everything there a couple of subs that were totally acceptable. Very impressed as we have never had a home delivery before (and still can't get a slot on our own, son gets them at midnight). He has got us another one for 9 May. Not ideal as it is not convenient for them having to add and monitor the order for us. Still I shall keep trying. There doesn't seem to be any extra help given to over 70s self isolating but not shielded by Tesco unfortunately.

Morning all,

I have benn and gone and done it!!!! Mucked up my weekly Asda order as I did'nt pay in time. Have been trying to get into the Morrisons site all morning and it won't accept my password and was sending me round in circles. Oh is furious!!! he tried and got the same as me. We have had about three emails from Morrisons but still go round in circles. So frustrating.

Poor you Vera I hope you feel better today. Its so annoying when you can't see a doctor to see if he could change your meds.

Grey skies here today but its quite bright with it and it is dry.

All this online shopping seems to be taking me more time than actually going and getting it. I just can't seem to get my head around it and oh won't et me ring them as its a high charge phone call.

Glad you are a bit better Vera, but do you think your migraines are getting worse lately? Like AnnG I think we all have some underlying anxiety and you also have had your share of things needing repair etc. I hope you improve some more today.

OH is weeding the front garden now and I have just got the worst bits up with the hoover till the charge ran out. Next I need to get the red peppers, courgettes and leeks ready for lunch which we are having with fresh salmon. I'm going to put a pack of the spinach I froze and crushed into the hollandaise (packet) sauce we are having with it. Some frozen mash for OH so easy to do. Then I may do a bit in the garden if it isn't raining!

good morning, a bit grey here at the moment. waiting to receive the Tesco order this morning so conserving my energy.

Pleased to hear the headach was easing, it must be so frustrating Vera to keep getting the,. do you think the current situation is contributing to them. It is such a strange time and I am sure we are all stressed even though it is not obvious (except when looking for shopping slots).

Not sure what i am doing today but I will BBL. :-) :-)

I am feeling a little better now, though I still have a bit of pain and feel very tired and drained. These migraines do knock me out but they are 100 times better than they used to be. I was told they would improve as I got older and they really have. Jane, my cousin has Cluster headaches but my official diagnosis is Severe Chronic Migraine. I have medication to try to prevent them happening and medication to treat them if they do and the doctor checks it about once a year and occasionally tweaks the dosage.

Anyway, that’s quite enough about my problems which are minor compared to some people.

I have managed to read through all the posts but will be here forever if I comment on them all and I am trying not to look at a screen for too long. I hope everyone with aches and pains starts to feel a lot better soon.

Thank you to everyone who has emailed pictures and jokes. I’ve enjoyed looking at them all tonight. That was some stitch Ann!

Even though I’ve been feeling rotten a couple of good things have happened in the last day or two. OH, bless him, gave the inside of the conservatory a good going over. He got up on the steps and went all over the roof, then washed all the paintwork, the windows and the floor. So that’s a job I haven’t got to do now.

Then we had a lovely long FaceTime session with our son. He took the phone outside and showed me all the work they had done in the garden and his middle daughter took the phone upstairs and showed me how, with dil’s help, she had repainted her bedroom. It was lovely to see them. And tonight daughter phoned so I had a long chat with her as well.

That’s enough screen time for me tonight. I hope you all sleep well.

Mouth much better after lunch. I had two nice boiled eggs and bread and butter. Been out in the garden this afternoon having a sweep up. We get lots of moss grwo on the tarmac down towards the bantams and my shed so I had a go at that. Pulled up a few eeds and nettles and took three wheelbarrow loads over to my bonfire.

Fancy Chris throwing you scetchers away Jane. Hope the new pair are just as comfortable.

Sunny and even hotter today, we are so lucky with the weather. More seeds are coming through so that is good.

H & G have had some good exercise with the walk Jane.........wish I could still do it! It sounds like you are feeling a bit perkier after the transfusion which is good and that will be better just being on the one drug every 3 weeks. It's been quite an ordeal for you. Yes curly hair is harder to cut as it springs back! Did you offer him something for the weekend! lol. We don't know any more about the police visit. I hadn't seen Mrs O at all since before the lockdown but she was the one talking to the police.

Mel, I still have what I think is a small abcess too, but mine only gets a bit sore when it gets a bit bigger and then it will be almost flat the next day. Yours sounds really bad with all the pain you are getting. I keep doing the salt water rinses 3 times a day.

I never got the pic of the gummy bear necklaces so could someone send it on please. :-D

We had chicken dijon today with roast parsnips and roast potatoes and carrots and broccoli and seem to be eating outside more than in during the past week. I cleaned out a kitchen drawer and sorted out all my packets of sauces and traybakes and know what I have now. I also tidied a big saucepan drawer that I keep cereals in and what should I find in there but a spare new wireless doorbell still in it's box!! Luckily I hadn't ordered another one yet. OH emptied out one side of the shed and we have sorted out what can be chucked away. We can walk in there now but need to do the same the other side. I have lots of bottles on shelves with garden pest stuff etc, but the labels have fallen off. so they will have to go and can be boxed up ready.

Our Asda delivery came this afternoon by another smiley young man, so it was rubber gloves on and wipe, wipe. I was at last offered a recurring slot when I found a slot last night, so have made it fortnightly and won't need to book again. :-D I managed to get some egg custards this time and OH, who isn't a fan of egg custards tried one. Now he wants more ordered next time as we both agreed they were the nicest we had ever had anywhere.

Vera I do feel for you with your migraines and hope this one soon goes. They are so draining, you feel washed out for a few days even when they go.

Frank. Tony needs to keep his mobile in his pocket set on vibrate so that Val can alert him when he has his headphones on, What if she had fallen, poor thing.

My hayfever was bad yesterday with dripping nose and itching eyes so I must remember to take the tablets!

We have discovered that the tv will work for half an hour, but the screen goes blank then, so most tv is being watched in the bedrooms. I feel so tired today I think it will be an early night.

Well Hannah and Gareth have gone. They walked here and are walking back. 7and a half Kilometres each way !!. In this heat too.Oh to be young.

The hair cut went so so.It was a joint effort with me and James LOL His hair is not easy to cut as it is curly and wiry and unruly.But it looks ok for now.
I have got Chicken Breasts with Asparagus wrapped in Proscuitto for dinner ,my own parmentier potatoes and sliced runner beans. The chicken breasts are humungous .

Just now as we were all say out there was a right rumpus and ot was a Heron being chased by a Crow !!!. We thought the Heron was going to actually come down in the garden.I dont think I have seen a Crow chase a Heron like that before.I know they chase off the Red Kites.It was quite something to see.

Ann got the pic of the stitch . Good job it was a black stitch so you could actually see it .It was a fair size too.
Thomas has been asleep in the patch of long grass Chris leaves at the bottom of the garden.He looked very comfy there :-D.He has gone off a hunting now .

It is the Chemo that has made me so anaemic .Apparently quite common.The good thing was I didn t have to have any more Magnesium .The Consultant said he think the levels of that should rise on its own now.Fingers crossed.I reallt dont want any more drips than is absolutely necessary .It is a good job I have good veins and there is never a problem getting the canulas in. I am just on the one drug now once every 3 weeks.

I think this is the last of the good weather for a while now.haven't we been lucky these last couple of weeks,especially for this time of the year.it will be back to long sleeves tomorrow I reckon.

Ann any news on Mrs O and the Police visit? I wonder what that was about.

Frank that was so good of Lewis to come and see you and clean out the water butt.I bet he looks very different now with a full beard :-D.

Gill have you heard from Sandra lately? I dont know if her little package will have arrived in time for you to send it off with your presents.The post is so erratic at the moment and it took over a week for a card I sent first class to my sister.
I wish Sandra a very happy birthday for tomorrow .Is it 31 or 32 she will be?I am sorry though that you will be unable to see her on her special day.

James and I now need to sort out the order for the Waitrose Click and Collect and also I need his help to order some Skecher Flip Flops :-D. I had a nice pair that I had left in the garage and Chris has managed ot chuck them out :-S :-| :-|

Good afternoon on this beautiful day.

We had lunch from our local this lunchtime. First it saved me cooking, and second, it supported those nice people during LOCKDOWN. The food was excellent. Roast Pork, stuffing and crackling, loads of vegetables (to much for me) Yorkshire pudding and a pot of gravy to share. Far to much for Ros, so she has transferred what she didn't eat, to a plate for tonight. She likes cold Sunday Roast. eh, not for me though.

Have been sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine, while reading my book and having a beer or THREE. Eos is down the garden, sitting by the pond, I think looking for the frogs, and fish. I will water the greenhouse and veg patch later this evening, when the sun gets less heat. I will also water all her pots down the drive and in the front, under the lounge window, flower beds etc.

Many years ago when we were first married (42 years ago now) Ros always cut my hair, being that she was an ex hairdresser. I can see she will have to get the scissors out again, before the lockdown ends. Or they will be calling me FRANCIS, with hair down, around my shoulders. lol.

Had a phone call this morning from VAL next door, asking if I could go round and find Tony as she had sat down on a low seat, and couldn't get up. I thought how strange, so went round and let myself. I found him on his computer, sitting on the bed, with his HEADPHONES ON. He nearly jumped out of his skin, to see me standing there. !!!

Ros has now made another 100 "SCRUB BAGS" for Northampton Hospital. Thats on top of over 100 for the NHS. Local women have been very good, giving her all these sheets, duvets and pillow cases. It's been my job, to remove the elastic from round the fitted bottom sheets.

Just looked at the time. WHERE HAS TODAY GONE. ???

Good luck with cutting Jaames hair Jane. I'm glad your feeling better now after your tranfusion. Lots more energy. If you are cutting James hair with scissors comb the hair upwards and cut it straight across and follow the line of the first cut. As the hair lays down it will be nicely layered. Comb it straight up and hold it between your index finger and the next one cut straight across. Then comb the next bit to it up and follow the line of the bit you did before. Hope this helps if you can understand it.

Suns out here now and oh is still working on the mower but has to wait for a new belt to arrive for the cutting deck. I think he's putting new bearings in today.

Mouths still sore. It ususall goes in a day but its hanging on this time. I have had it on this tooth before. Now its making my left eye ache. May take some painkillers after I have eaten something. No big breakfast for me today I shall be having eggs and bread and butter.

annx have you found out what the police were doing over the road?
You were not alone I could not open any of Frank's videos, I am afrraid I then delelted them as I am nervous of viseos that have been forwarded from people I don't know, sorry Frank.

frank hope your tum is better today, do you think you had the same as Roe had overnight?

Jane, that sounds like a brighter you, amazing how sluggish you can fell if you are anaemic which I assume is why you have the blood? Is it the medication or the chemo that causes that? Hope it continues to be improved for you. Glad you enjoyed your time with Hannah and the two glasses of wine as well.

Another lovely day and warmer than yesterday. I am going to be cutting James's hair in a minute :-S He is getting himself quite worked up about me doing it so I better not mess it up !!!.

I do feel a lot better AnnG since I had my blood.The main thing is not feeling I want to sleep all the time.It was good to join in with the Croquet yesterday and also enjoy a couple of glasses of wine :-D :-D.

Vera I do hope this awful migraine is not going to carry on for too much longer for you.You seem to have had a few just lately.Is it worth speaking to the Dr do you think?

Mandy ,that is good of your son to come and get the canopy up later.You dont want ot be risking hurting your side again just as it has got better.

Mel ,I hope your painful mouth wont get any worse.It does almost sound like it could be an abscess.A call to the Dentist might be a good idea tomorrow and you may be given a prescription for some antibiotics.I doubt very much you would be allowed to actually go for a face to face appointment. Janice had this problem a couple of weeks ago. She had a loose crown with an abscess under it. The crown has actually come off now and so she is pain free again.

I had a call the other day from the County Council saying as i was on the list as being a High Risk Vulnerable person they were just calling to see if I needed a food parcel ,transport ,or prescriptions collecting. How good is that. Lucklit I was able to say I was fine and did not need any help but that I was very grateful for the call. I get any prescriptions delivered now and we are fine for food shopping with slots at Tesco.We actually have finally managed ot get one at Waitrose for Tuesday :-D :-D.It is click and collect though so Hannah will go and pick it up for us.I am quite excited as there are certain things at Waitrose I really like that no where else does.

Right James is ready now so I must get the scissors and clippers :-D :-D Wish me luck(or maybe wish James luck :-D)

Still got a swollen mouth this morning but I don't think it hurts as myuch as it did yesterday but I've not got my teeth in yet. Just having a cuppaand then I shall go and have a good swill of Corsadil or however you spell it, you know what I mean.

Had a dream last night that I went to Holsworthy Market and there were four ladies in a little group all talking away and not keeping the social distancing at all. Then I went to the auction and everyone was sitting next to each other as normal.

No AnnG we haven't got the canopy up ,the screws that go through the poles are so tiny and also we couldn't stretch up to do it if I did that I know I would pull my side so son is coming this morning as he is bringing us some bits .
We will sit right down the garden while he's here so no close contact ,I'll keep Max in too .

Oh I had not seen you say you had another migraine Vera, I am so sorry you feel so poorly. It does sound horrid. Have you got a supply of the meds that usually sort it? Best to stay off the PC and out of the sun for a while and I hope it goes soon.

Mel I think there are some emergency dentists in some areas, sounds as if that is an abscess and you probably need antibiotics. You could try your GP if you can't find a dentist working.

I’m here Mel but not really with it. I’m still struggling with this migraine. It’s been coming and going but has left me with an intense pain right over one side of my head. It feels as though.the pain is right in the bones of my skull. I’ve had it before and it sometimes takes days to go.

I hope your mouth is less painful now Mel, and everyone else with aches and pains is feeling better today.

Can’t look at the screen for long so might BBL if I feel a bit better.

Hope Vera is ok????
