Sunny with cloud here this morning. good morning all.
Nothing planned for today (what is new?) but I will no doubt find something to do.
Mel do you keep a general shopping list on your computer that way you can check it each week so you don't miss anything.

Morning all,
Grey sky and miserable but not raining so I suppose thats a good thing as we have had a lot over the last few days.
Forgot to order my small brown loaf at the shop today with my other shopping.
My tick bite place has turned red again and a little bluish on one side so I think I better ring the doctor tomorrow. I may need some antibiotics.

The fruit bowl is now full of bananas and satsumas. Gill. You certainly had us confused. Pigeon looked as though he or she ‘was in clover’ Mel :-D
Annx what paint do you use on the stones, the ladybirds?
My OH has found some sport to watch, snooker. He also watched some horse racing but said it was very strange with no people.
Vera, as Mel said it could be dust causing rhinitis.

The pigeon looks in her element with her face deep in the clover Mel. I bet she's glad she's free now thanks to you and your OH.
Love the caption with your fruit bowl AnnG :-D :-D

I went to edit my post ladies and for some reason when I re-posted it half of the original post disappeared :-S :-S
Yes, I've had an abscess on my tooth and a sore throat which is why I wasn't on here for a while, the sore throat has now gone, but I still have a bit of a lump on my gum. It doesn't hurt so I'm not going to a dentist. OH's tooth is still playing him up but he doesn't want to go to the dentist just yet as he doesn't think it's safe enough. He needs to be very careful because of his job, the last thing he wants is to lose his chance of a permanent contract with only a couple of weeks to go. He has had a Covid test which came back "Unclear" so he has to have another one next week. He hasn't got any symptoms and his temperature is okay, so that's good news. He's pretty sure he hasn't got the virus, he just needs to have it done again to make sure.

I was thinking of making cakes this afternoon but I think its a bit late int the day now. Perhaps tomorrow.
I really need to rescue some of my strawberries as they are now hanging down in water and thats not good. I think the rain has eased a bit so its outside to corn the girls nad have a go at the strawberries.

Afternoon All,
We had a dull and breezy start, then some sunshine and now it is dull again but none of the promised rain although it rained well in the night. We have some cues about an inch long now but no tomatoes yet, just flowers on those. The lettuce may have started to grow unless they are weed seeds and one patty pan squash is growing. Not sure how well that will do unless we have an Indian Summer I noticed a few of the french marigolds have some leaves nibbled despite the slug pellets so I wonder if it is those cute little blighters doing it!
OH is looking forward to footie being on the telly AnnG, but bemoaning the fact he can't watch it on the big telly in the lounge. He doesn't want anyone coming in yet to fix it and he could try ringing SKY to see if they could give some instructions, but he isn't that fussed and I know it will end up being me that sorts it out. Men eh! I can't see him having any matches to go to for a while though. At least the ones he goes to don't have many spectators or clubhouses so that will help once they start up.
Glad you woke up better than when you went to bed Vera and I hope you don't get a cold. I can never sort photos quickly either, they always trigger memories!
That was interesting about the sweep's mirror Mel. I'd never thought about them looking up chimneys to see where a fire was.
I have repainted the red on the ladybird pebbles I did years ago. I think they will need another coat tomorrow, then I can do the black spots and white bits.
We have several doors that the catches don't work on now. I used to wedge them in the summer so they didn't slam shut, but OH doesn't and now the springs in them have broken (I think). Well he decided to investigate once he saw my sewing machine screwdriver was handy that I was opening small tins of paint with. Which door did he decide to start on that just holds shut and keeps the freezer cool.....yes the utility door! It did look like a broken spring from what we could see and luckily the door still shut to and just held after he put it back together again.
I also did a cake from a cake mix this afternoon. Lazy I know, but it meant less time standing and I like the fact you added oil, not butter and could choose a healthy one! lol.
I was thinking today how we had tyre pumps we fixed on our bikes years ago. There were little lugs on the frame that the top and bottom of the pump clipped into. I must check whether my more modern bike has them or whether they don't put them on anymore because they get stolen.

Its pelting down here now after a nicish morning.
Oh has just walked in and said "A chimney sweeps mirror" now I had never heard of this before. He tried to look it up on the net but nothing. I asked Echo and she did'nt know either. Oh said it was a stainless steel mirror for looking up chimneys to see where the fire was. Made of steel because it would'nt break in use. They had to check evry morning at 09.00 hours that they had this piece of equipment on their fire engines. Another bit of usless information from oh. Its funny how these things come into his mind andhe just comes out with them.

Vera it could be the dust from all the clearing out making you sneeze and cough and the sore throat.
Not done anything this morning but feed the girls. I have a picture of the pigeon that got caught in the netting over the chicken run Its doing fine after its ordeal of us cutting it free and is now feasting on oh's annoying patch of clover on the front lawn. Its still limping a bit and it can fly and I am giving it corn which it comes down for with its mate.

Good morning AnnG, Frank and all
Alternate sunshine and grey skies here and it’s quite windy but at least it’s not raining at the moment.
When I went to bed last night I was sure I was in for a heavy cold. I was sneezing and snuffling and had a sore throat and headache but I had a good night and have woken up this morning much better.
Yesterday we sorted out half of the remaining unit in the lounge which was all old LP records and DVDs. The charity shop is getting quite a few DVDs and one or two LPs. There are a couple our youngest grandchild might want as she loves the old records. The rest we are keeping. At the moment OH is playing the original London cast recording of Jesus Christ, Superstar.
While I was in the shower this morning OH emptied the unit of all the albums and loose packs of photos stored there. Big mistake - he’s still looking through the first album he picked up. I can see it will be at least a week before we’ve gone through everything. At one point he showed me a photo of me holding a babe in arms and asked me which grandchild it was. I was wearing a peachy, orangey coloured T shirt and I had the same T shirt on last week. The photo was 20 years old! I don’t cost him much in new clothes do I?
While OH is faffing about I’ve taken off half a dozen cushion covers and got them washed and now I think I’ll go and try and clean up a couple of leather chairs. Spring cleaning the lounge is a bit piecemeal at the moment but at least it’s getting done.

Morning Anng and frank and all,
Bright here but cloudy too and there is blue sky and all the clouds are travelling to the east so we know which way the winds blowing.
Hope T enjoys his golf today. He will be tired tonight if he has 18 holes today so perhaps you will both get a better nights sleep tonight.
Its Friday once again and I don't know where these weeks are going as it only seems like it was Friday a couple of days ago and not severn.
Must remember our scripts when I go to the shop tomorrow so I shall write them on my list.
thinking of Jane and sending wishes and hugs. <3
Well I better get on with something or I won't get anything done today. Kitchen needs a seeing to as oh cooked last night and even though he washed up there lots to put away. He moans at how much stuff I use when cooking but he seems to use more even with partly ready meals.

Good morning AnnG. and all you other lovely people.
Lite most of the Country it's dull and miserable here also. At the moment it's not raining, but for how long I wouldn't like to guess.
Pete the plumber is here servicing the boiler. Doesn't the year come round quickly. ??
Neither of us had a good night last night. So not a lot of action from either of us. Ros has some sewing to do. She has some cushions she bought, and some nice material, that she has had for some time, which she is going to use to cover them with.
Tony's greenhouse vent in the roof has worked loose and is flapping about. So he has put a big STONE OVER IT. Fine, until it slips, and possible breaks one of the roof glass's. He is not Mr DIY of the year. lol lol
Nice bit of fillet steak for tonight. It was on offer at Morrison's, when Ros popped in yesterday, for petrol and odd and ends.
How re you all managing with this prolonged LOCK DOWN. ?? I see some things will be allowed to open on Saturday, and more on the 4th July. I can imagine a lot of PUBS have had to throw away barrels of beer, so that will effect their profits for the year. I expect the price of a pint will go up now. !!!!
I think I will go and get a coffee, and sit in the conservatory with my book, where it will be mice and light.
Stay sake everyone. xxxx

Good morning from a very windy, cloudy brightish Glos. OH has gone to golf, didn't like the rude awakening at 0645 when he got up. (not that I did). I had a rotten night ast night because he was so restless, I had forgotten that about golf.
It does seem strange to be back in a routine that is familiar while still being in another that has become familiar. Although he is playing golf, nothing else has changed. Strangley he san't see that and feels he is getting back to normal. Be a long time before we do that I reckon.

Well I am glad I was'nt the only one who did'nt have them at school. We did have bins but no incinerators. Happy birthday to your 20 year old grandaughter Vera. give her my love for a wonderful day.
I think I saw a post Gill had made about her oh's tooth playing up again.
Its been pouring most of the afternoon here so rain stopped play once again for oh.
He cooked tonight ready meals plus home cooked egg fried rice and it was all very tasty and now I am completely full up.
Just getting dark here and I have shut the chickens in so I am going to watch a bit of telly now.
Hoping Jane had a good day today. Thinking of you and sending wishes and hugs. <3

I thought i was dreaming as i had read Gills post and then saw that some of it had gone and was going to say Gill that some Dentists are now opening and were doing emergency appointments ,we had an e mail from our dentist today saying they were now open and would get in touch at a later date as they would only be treating those that had had problems first .
Gill also mentioned about her carpet having a lump and she thought it was the under lay .
AnnG thats a sad looking fruit bowl :-( :-D we always have plenty of fruit as we eat fruit every day with cereal or as a pud ,Colin always eats an apple a day .
Friday tomorrow were has the week gone again .

No Vera you are as sane as I am and that is saying something. I saw that in Gills post as well. Gill did you delete part of your post to confuse us oldies. I too thought you ought to get antibiotics if it is an abscess .
Seven of us still went out this evening for a short get together in place of the clapping, about twenty minutes, it was good to see and talk to people.
I actually took my tape measure today and pulled it out and locked it on one metre. Then measured two. I can admit that chatting Thursdays we are mostly not all two metres apart. But I think that is why they leave it at two knowing that mostly it is safe at one. Especially outside. People have trouble estimating distance.

I don't remember those incinerators at school. A school of 600 11-18 year old girls would have needed something!
Loved the photos of the birds and especially the little mice Ann & Mel and AnnG's empty fruit bowl made me smile.
Frank, not another fall and bang on the head! What are we going to do with you? If you haven't got a rubber mat you really must get one. They're easy to get hold of and come in all shapes and sizes. I've got a couple and I expect most of the others on here have them too. I can just imagine your face when Ros gave you non-alcoholic beer :-) Have you tried one yet? It might be better than you think. What sort of beer do you like? My OH is not a lager fan, he likes a bitter and has just had a pack of 32 bottles of "1845" delivered.
Ann, it might not be the weather for sitting in a garden tomorrow but you would probably be alright to meet your friends if you are all sensible and careful. When our friends - another married couple - came round last Wednesday they came into the garden through the side gate and sat at the far end of our garden table, which is nearer 3 metres than 2. We then came out of the house through our lounge patio doors and sat at the house end of the table. Instead of making tea, the men had bottled beer and we two ladies had canned soft drinks and we went over them with wipes that I provided. I had a plate of cakes but had wiped tongs for picking them up and our friends had bought their own hand gel. It sounds a bit of a performance but it really wasn't and we all felt safe. It made such a difference seeing and chatting normally to someone else. Even OH said how relaxed he felt when they went.
Gill, am I going barmy? The answer to that is probably yes :-D I am sure I saw something earlier about you not being very well and having an abscess on your tooth. Now I can't see it anywhere. If you have got an abscess ring your dentist in case there is someone manning the phone or they may have diverted calls to the dentist at home. If not, try ringing 111 for advice because you may need to have some antibiotics and they may be able to arrange something for you. If you are poorly then I hope you feel better very quickly and if I just imagined all this you had better send for the men in white coats ;-)
Right, I am now going to do a bit of online banking. The window cleaner and the newsagent who delivers our papers need paying and I need to transfer some birthday money to a granddaughter who turns 20 tomorrow.
I hope you all have a good night. See you tomorrow.

Mel,
Our school was certainly a fume-filled place at times, because of the use of those contraptions. Not sure if Fire service was ever called, but it would certainly have set off a few alarms, if we'd had smoke detectors then.
